23.01.2022 This week for multicultural week the children have tasted many different cultural foods from rice pudding, fried rice and many more dishes. The children had learnt how to write numbers in Chinese along with songs in different languages. Our favourite part of the week was dressing up in different cultural clothings we would like to thank all the families that contributed to exposing the children to your home cultures

08.01.2022 This morning Miss Caitlin was weeding our front yard when the children caught interest. After weeding we discovered soooo many snails where we were very brave to hold
06.01.2022 The children have been expressing their passion for our silk worms by cleaning the enclosure daily, feeding them mulberry leaves which we collect on our weekly excursion and observing them crawl around, climb the stick and eating the leaves!!
05.01.2022 The Butterflies used their imagination and creativity to invent fishing rods made with sticks and ropes on their excursion today. We had so much fun fishing with our friends
03.01.2022 On Friday we had Rhe come back for another spectacular visit! This week we dotted our symbols and created our ‘inclusive’ canvas that represents the centre
03.01.2022 We love receiving feedback!!! To Olivia and the TLC team, I wanted to write in and express my happiness regarding the centre and team. I was notified about a temporary new member of the team, Rhys, and how he is doing a few weeks of work placement at the centre. I am so proud that Harlow belongs to a centre that not only supports diversity but welcomes it. I feel very strongly that my kids should be raised to accept diversity, be leaders in inclusivity and reject dis...crimination and I am so thankful to be part of a centre that supports me in this. Having a husband who has worked in childcare since he was 17 and having previously worked with Early Childhood Intervention Australia, I appreciate how important it is for children to have both male and female educators/influences and how vital it is that our kids are taught to be accepting of others regardless of ability/race/religion/gender. I can’t express my gratitude for The Little Cottage enough. Thank you for your part in helping people of varied abilities, genders and cultures find their place and for helping all the attending kids learn understanding and respect. Keep up the amazing work! Goncalves family
03.01.2022 The Seahorses used their fine motor and cognitive skills in the coloured rice to interpret the First Nation People symbols
03.01.2022 Example of how imitation provides children with the opportunity to practice and master new skills. One of the children observed an educator creating a Waldorf star which she then took her observation and learning home to create one even bigger than the centres one, HOW AMAZING !!!!!!
