23.01.2022 So heres Drax just over a week later. We started using The LGC Co. ointment on his scalp straight away, the vet however was concerned it was more than just dermatitis so we compounded in an antibiotic with our ointment as the base. What a difference it has made his skin has healed and is finally smooth. We hope the hair will grow back soon and the vet has told us to continue with just the ointment to keep his skin soft and encourage the hair to return. The ointment is co...mpletely natural and safe on their skin ( and in case they lick it ) the lanolin and hemp oil base helps give a shine and restore the skins moisture and help with oil in their coat. I don't have the photos just one happy puppy and problem free human skin. After being given a small sample of this to try on-myself from a work colleague and getting speedy results on my dermatitis and enraged skin, led to the purchase of my own. Which I am glad I did, Duke(my red cloud kelpie) had started to develop what looked to be dermatitis on his left ear, which after some medicated cream from a vet using it for about 3 days, BOY did the itching start and my poor boys ear become worse [...] so I reached for the LGC hoping it would just provide a barrier and a soothing effect [...] Fast forward a week and a massive difference! Almost back to normal! . Not being a fan of steroid based creams this is now my go to ointment for all skin problems that arise if they are to again and now is also in my Dog's First AID Kit Natural, Effective and a great WA product! Its a question many people wonder about but are too busy scratching to ask. . A combination of - cold weather, - warm indoor temperatures, - hot showers/baths and - woollen clothing can all trigger eczema. . The air is also drier despite the rain and so our skin gets drier. We blast indoor heaters that dry out our skin more. We take hotter showers that strip our skin of its protective layers. We wear warmer clothes that can sometimes aggrevate and itch, even natural fibres like wool can cause flare ups. . So while it sounds like a paradox that your skin would dry out with wetter weather its well documented. Infact most people say their eczema is best in warm humid conditions. . So what do you do? . 03.01.2022 Meet Drax! Our 8 week old cane corso pup who joined our family recently. Drax is a perfect pup but the poor little guy suffers puppy eczema/dermatitis( yes we must attract it ). You can see a few bumps on his nose and scalp and we will post a photo in the comments of the top of his head where its worst. You guessed it, we reached for our magic little green cream.
