16.01.2022 QUICK & EASY RECIPE RICETTA Pasta al pesto con Fagiolini e Patate Youll need:... 2 handfuls of green beans chopped 4 potatoes diced into cubes Pesto 500gr Pasta (any kind or shape you like but these are traditionally served with Trofie) Boil the salted water in your usual pasta pot. Once boiling, add the potatoes and about 5 minutes later add the beans. Once they are almost all cooked add the pasta and cook as normal. When the pasta is cooked, strain it all and place in a serving dish then gently stir through the pesto. Careful not to overcook the veg but if you do its no big deal! It will still be delicious x #thelittleitalianschool

15.01.2022 This beautiful family held a surprise 60th birthday pasta party yesterday afternoon and it was wonderful ! They dressed Italian themed , and sat on the terrace to eat the pasta they made, some with tomato using Mutti Pomodoro and some with butter and sage... and had loads of fun.! Set in a stunning Roman suburb, a gay couple Arturo & Stefano are dealing with relationship issues, when Alessandros x girlfriend falls ill and leaves her 2 children with them. The characters were gorgeous, we had quite a few giggles, the performances were subtle, at times it may have been a l...ittle dragged out - but if you are learning and love listening to the Italian language and enjoy a feel good movie, then this film is perfect ! We had a great night out, bumped into some wonderful friends and even made a couple of new ones. Italian film Festival time is definitely one of my favourite times of the year! 12.01.2022 The original granita. Have you ever stopped at one of these mini carts in the stinking hot Italian summer in Napoli to grab one of those cones filled with grated ice and topped with a squeeze of fresh lemon? Such a genius idea! Of course now things have evolved and we have machines that churn the ice with flavour in it so its on tap all day long and quicker and easier to serve. But I just love these old fashioned ones and remember loving them as a little girl too, watching and always amazed at how they shaved the ice and made it so yummy. 11.01.2022 RICETTA - CROSTATA with poached pears and blueberries This mornings clean out the fridge colazione (breakfast) crostata. We often hear the term waste nothing and that is usually how I decide on what we are having when it comes to meals. Thats what I watched nonna and mamma do, so thats how I do it. The seasons help decide what to buy when it comes to produce, and all you have to do is bring it home and get creative. Buona domenica -base... 250gr butter 3cups plain flour 5 tbls sugar 2 eggs -filling 1 kg ricotta 1/4 cup sugar 1 lemon rind 3 pears, peeled and cooked in a small pan with about 100gr butter and 1/4 cup sugar Punnet blueberries You can line the base of the crostata with the pears or you can mix them through the ricotta with the blueberries. The fruits you add can be substituted with anything you have in the fridge that may be ready to give to the chooks (throw out) Any questions ... fire away in the comments x
