And now it is time to get in touch again to let you know that we are baking this coming Saturday, August 10! Saturday will be a special day for another reason, as it is the chief bread baker’s birthday! We will be making our rustic sourdough loaf ($8.50/loaf) and sourdough baguette ($5.50), as well as multigrain ($8.50) and walnut ($8.50) breads. We will also be offering our... delicious sourdough fruit loaf with toasted hazelnuts & spices ($9.50) a great accompaniment to that morning cup of tea or coffee! 18.01.2022 Spring has really arrived, hasn’t it; I hope you had a lovely weekend! I spent the last few days in the garden, and smelling the beautiful scents of spring, which the warmth of the sun has helped to fill the air with, has just been wonderful I love this time of the year. And now it is Sunday night again, and time to let you know that we are baking this coming Saturday, September 21! We will be offering our rustic sourdough loaf ($8.50/loaf) and sourdough baguette ($5.50), ...as well as multigrain ($8.50) and walnut ($8.50) breads. The cake this week will be a blood orange & almond loaf (large $12, small $6.50), and we will also be making a baked cheese cake tart ($17.50), with apricots, plums, raspberries or red currants the choice is yours (please, let us know when you order)! 17.01.2022 I am sitting in our living room looking out onto the garden, watching the pouring rain and listening to the sound on our roof. It is a lovely and most welcome ...sound, particularly sitting only metres away from a warming fire and with a steaming mug of tea in front of me aren’t we lucky! And you may also like the sound of my message - we are baking again this coming Saturday, August 24! 13.01.2022 I love autumn! The sound of rain (now that we have finally had some!) hitting the corrugated iron roof, the wind, the beautiful autumn colours, the smell of decaying leaves, the sun making her way through the clouds, culminating, every now and then, in patches of vibrant blue sky, before it goes grey again for some more rain. Today has been one such wonderful day, and now I am sitting by the fire place, catching the last of the afternoon sun, while putting together this mess...age to you all to say: we are baking again this coming Saturday, June 8! We will be making our rustic sourdough loaf ($8.50/loaf) and sourdough baguette ($5.50), as well as multigrain ($8.50) and walnut ($8.50) breads. The abundance of quinces (combined with the generosity of wonderful friends handing them over by the bag load) has spurred me into some experimenting, and so I have created a poached quince loaf (with hints of rose geranium, orange and cardamom), which we are offering this week, as well as an apple & walnut loaf (large $11.50, small $6.50).
