21.01.2022 We wanted to take the time to send our love, thoughts and prayers to all who have been and are still being affected by the NSW fires. A special thank you to the men and woman who are protecting our homes and our families by risking their own lives. Your bravery is second to none. The Little Village are asking all of our families to help give back to those who need it most. We have a donation spot in our foyer where any donations, big or small can be made which will be donated directly to the Orchard Hills Fire Brigade. Our village had a cupcake gold-coin fundraiser to help in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. We all wore something Red to help raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and save lives. Well done TLV, you looked awesome

Another year of hard work, dedication, laughter, hugs, and tears. 2020 did not defeat us but made us realise the importance of having a strong team who continues to support TLV each and every day. Thank you to these lovely ladies! We hope you are all as excited as we are to watch the Christmas season unfold.

17.01.2022 #repost @ourmamavillage This week on OMV our theme is Responding. We're going to share some common situations that come up when parenting littles &... give some ideas on ways to respond. You can take these ideas & decide how they fit into your home.We hope they wi'll be practical & helpful for you! Today’s topic: Hitting, Biting, Kicking! A few things to consider when your child tries to hit/bite/kick. (This is not for every situation but can be some helpful tools to keep handy!) 1. Take a breath. It can be shocking when they do this & can trigger us. Remember that their behaviour isn’t about you it’s about them trying to express a need with you.Try to calm your nervous system first! 2. Connect with their feeling - not the behaviour. You are feeling really mad right now, you really wanted to play!! 3. Calmly set a loving limit. Start with a verbal: I can’t let you hit/bite/kick. If they continue trying to hit set a physical limit by gently blocking their hands. If they still try, gently hold down their hands to keep them safe. 4. Practice being calm while they are upset. This helps teach them new ways of coping with their own big feelings through the process of co-regulation. 5. Put on your investigator hat & get curious about what’s going on behind the behaviour! Think about what was happening before the behaviour happened. Are they hungry, tired, needing connection, trying to remove themselves from a tough situation, do they want to engage in an activity? 6. If this happens on the random occasion, trust that your child will learn new ways of coping through watching you. Be mindful of not giving the behaviour too much power. Try to move forward without dwelling on the behaviour. 7. If the behaviour continues to happen on multiple occasions once your child is calm collaborate together & think about new ways to help them get the same need met! For example: Practice thinking about appropriate ways to get out physical aggression like hitting a pillow instead. Practice asking for a break if hitting helps them escape a situation... ex! Leave a below if this was helpful OR drop your questions you’d like to see us cover. Jess has created a wonderful course called RAISING HUMAN BEINGS : how to parent little kids with big feelings, it's been helping me get the tools to manage the challenges I face with myself and my toddler. . . 13.01.2022 This year we celebrated Halloween together by dressing up in all sorts of weird and wacky outfits! The children had the most wonderful time dressing up and engaging in spooky themed craft activities. What made our Halloween so special was that some of the children went on an excursion to our local Retirement Village. The children had the opportunity to spread their love and light to those who may need it the most. Our connection to the Newmarch retirement village is one we will continue building on together. One smile at a time. #Halloween #spreadinglove #ourfuture

13.01.2022 When air quality is hazardous, its important to be prepared. Stay indoors when you can, and avoid strenuous activities like our little villagers.

10.01.2022 Today we all participated in one minute of silence at 11:00am, from our smallest to our biggest villagers we stood together in silence to remember those past and present. 09.01.2022 Celebrating Wear Red Day today! We hope the hearts of everyone in your village are full this Valentines Day!

09.01.2022 Even in a perfect world where we are completely present and available for our child, there will be moments when we simply don’t understand why they are behaving or reacting a certain way. If these moments become more frequent, then we may find ourselves putting a label on our child’s behaviour. - Dr. Jonathan Evans

07.01.2022 Sale extended! Check out the catalogues below.

05.01.2022 Over the last two days our little villagers have been extremely busy planting in the garden. One of our parents kindly donated some succulent off cuts for us to plant. The children had an absolute ball playing in the garden, digging holes and choosing which succulent they wanted to plant. We spoke about all of the things plants need to grow such as soil, sunlight and water. Everyone took turns of watering the plants and admiring our beautiful garden. We also wanted to bring some nature inside, reusing plastic containers the children created their very own arrangements to display inside the classroom. We must teach our children to smell the earth, to taste the rain, to touch the wind, to see things grow, to hear the sun rise and night fall to care. ~ John Cleal

05.01.2022 We are all super excited to finish our wonderful year celebrating Christmas with all of our little villagers and their families. Dont forget our fabulous Christmas party is this Friday! We hope you have all sent in your RSVPs. #9moresleeps #villagechristmas2019 #festivities

03.01.2022 We just wanted to say Happy Australia Day to all of our beautiful villagers. This week we have loved learning about what it means to be Australian. Australia Day is a day to celebrate the past, present and future of the country. At its core Australia Day is driven by communities who celebrate everything they love about living in Australia and being an Australian. Today we celebrated together, the diverse range of cultures that make our country so special. We are one, but we... are many And from all the lands on earth we come Well share a dream and sing with one voice "I am, you are, we are Australian" See more

02.01.2022 Today we supported the Royal Childrens Hospital Westmead by holding a Teddy Bear Picnic Day. The Bandaged Bear Appeal is The Childrens Hospital at Westmeads largest annual fundraising appeal. The Childrens Hospital relies on community generosity to raise essential funds for purchasing the most technologically advanced medical equipment, conducting for vital research and maintaining the total healing environment that the Hospital is renowned for. We enjoyed a lovely outdo...or picnic as a village, the children sat with their teddies, gave them loads of cuddles and shared their teddies with their peers. The kindness and care that today brought out in the children is exactly what we strive for when teaching the children all the important things in life. Thank you again to all of our wonderful families who continue to show us their support. xx
