25.01.2022 Camel cuddles are a great way to end the day at The Llama Farm.

25.01.2022 Heres a fun photo from yesterdays promo shoot that Darren took of the hot air balloon in the background while one of our hens was having an afternoon scratch in the llama night yard.

24.01.2022 Our beautiful boys have arrived! Introducing Clyde and Varian, our 3 year old lumpy llamas. You can meet them on your next visit with us at The Llama Farm.

24.01.2022 This afternoons sunset was beautiful. Shane took this photo of Wallaces silhouette as the sunlight disappeared over the horizon at dusk tonight. It shows how llama ears are so distinctive.

23.01.2022 Faces on the Farm #37 - Charlie Charlie the miniature pony was born on the 13th of March 2015 to Boots and Ike. She was our first miniature pony foal and a bundle of fun from the time she was born. Charlies name is short for Charcoal and was named by our neighbour. Despite being light grey when she was a foal, Charlie has grown into a lovely bay colour with a distinctive white star on her forehead. She is Ikes last foal as we had him gelded after Charlie was born. Ike w...ill become a grandfather in November because Charlie is due to have her first foal this year. We cannot wait to meet the little colt or filly when they arrive. Her mother Boots is also in foal due in December. This means that Boots will be both a grandmother and mother this year too and Charlie will have a little brother or sister at the same time as having a foal of her own. You get to meet and feed Charlie along with her mother Boots, father Ike and our other mare Molly on our morning farm tour @thellamafarm.

23.01.2022 Just a couple of camel butts for ya. Clyde and Varian are head down, bum up enjoying breakfast on this chilly winter morning. We adore our two loveable lumpy llamas!

23.01.2022 ONLY 1 TICKET REMAINING! This is the last children’s llama workshop for these school holidays. Do you know a child that is CRAZY about llamas? Our sell out 'Little Llama Farmers' children's workshop is on again this January. Don't miss out! Here is the Eventbrite ticket link for our Friday the 15th of January 2021 workshop.... The 8th of January is completely SOLD OUT.

22.01.2022 Getting ready to film a segment for tonights weather cross on the ABC News broadcast with Ringo, one of our llamas. Tune in to Channel 2 at 7pm. Today should have been Peoples Day at the Ekka so weve bought the Ekka to the studio.

22.01.2022 Well, that was unexpected! As part of the Ipswich City Councils tourism campaign photo shoot today, we were asked to host a hot air ballon for a sunset photo on our farm. It was surreal to see a hot air balloon inflated in the back paddock. The animals didnt even batter an eyelid but some of our neighbours did!

22.01.2022 We conduct our Guided Llama Walks at 3pm on weekends for this very reason. The afternoon light is sublime for photographs. Shane took this photo of a guest recently as they walked home from the Brisbane River with her family. It truly captures the energy of this experience and the joy it brings to our guests. Life really is calmer with a llama...

21.01.2022 Were celebrating our 1st Birthday today. A big thank you to everyone who has visited and supported us over the past year. Its been a lot of fun sharing our farm and animals with you!

20.01.2022 It can’t rain soon enough. Our last good rain was back in February which is a distant memory now...

19.01.2022 How cute is this?! We received this special thank you letter from one of our recent young visitors after their Faces of the Farm tour experience. Thank you Emma for your beautiful drawings of our animals and kind words. Im glad you enjoyed yourself and that your two favourite animals were the miniature ponies and rabbits. Farmer Shane

19.01.2022 Faces on the Farm #36 - Pepper Pepper is a delightful member of our family here at The Llama Farm. She is one of our Flemish Giant rabbits who greet guests alongside her hutch buddy and bestie, Toffee. Sadly, Pepper and Toffee were dumped by their previous owner in a cardboard box at a shop in Tweed Heads. Both girls were put up for adoption by The Rabbit Sanctuary in NSW and we were lucky enough to give these gorgeous big bunnies a permanent home. Pepper is very much lov...ed by all who meet her. Her coat is gradually changing colour with more agouti ticking starting to show. This gives Pepper that salt and pepper look - hence her name. You too can meet Pepper when you visit us @thellamafarm soon.

19.01.2022 Thank you Parker for including our farm in your 2021 calendar for the month of August. It was a great surprise to receive copies in the mail. Best of luck with your budding photography career. At just 14 years old, you are well on your way to fulfilling your dreams and aspirations. If you’re interested in viewing Parker’s work, visit http://phlphotos.com.au/shop or follow him PHL Photos on Facebook and Instagram.

18.01.2022 Visitors often ask how we can tell our two red-eyed white Flemish Giants apart when they meet them. I think this photo explains everything. Can you guess which one is Flopsy and which one is Mopsy?

17.01.2022 Our llamas are down there somewhere this morning... Holy fogginess!

17.01.2022 Due to popular demand, we have released a second and final Little Llama Farmers workshop this Friday 25 September. Get ready for some ll-amazing fun! Tickets are available via this link.

17.01.2022 Why walk one llama when you can walk four?! We had a great llama walk yesterday with some wonderful guests. This is Darren preparing some of our boys for the Guided Llama Walk experience we do in the afternoon when it’s cooler for the walkers and the llamas. Our llama walks are a great opportunity for families and friends to share a unique experience and create lasting memories together. If COVID has taught us anything, it’s that spending time doing something special with those you care about far outweighs receiving a physical gift. Why not consider one of our llama walks for your next outing together? We’d love to share our farm and llamas with you! (Bookings essential. Minimum age is 8yrs old to participate).

17.01.2022 We hope Santa found you this morning because he certainly found us at The Llama Farm. He was so impressed by our llamas that he might just give them a go instead of reindeer next year. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas with your family and friends today.

16.01.2022 Our second and final children's llama workshop for these school holidays, "Little Llama Farmers" is almost sold out. If you're thinking of securing tickets or this Friday 25 September, jump online and secure them as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

16.01.2022 This afternoon’s llama walk had a very dramatic backdrop. It was so nice to finally see a storm front descend upon us bringing some much needed rain with it.

16.01.2022 What a nice way to finish the first weekend of the year with this view from our back deck of the girls grazing happily. Roll on 2021...

15.01.2022 ITS A BOY! Shirley gave birth to a bouncing baby boy late this afternoon. So far, so good. This little fella is standing and drinking on his own and appears to be healthy and strong. Hes super cute and is the first cria weve had born in over 2 years. Mum and bub are doing well. Shirley is a fantastic mother to her cria.

15.01.2022 We finally installed our farm flagpole today. A big thank you to Adrian and Cassie for helping us to erect it.

14.01.2022 Pool Party! Who can resist a dip when it’s a stinking hot day? Here are some of our pregnant girls cooling off in our large dam today. So much for the declared La Niña resulting in a wet October and November. The drought is still very much here and not a deluge in sight.

12.01.2022 It’s great to see everyone wearing a mask in public in the Greater Brisbane area. Please remember to wear a mask when visiting us during the current C19 imposed restrictions period. Don’t be part of the prob-llama! We’re all in this together! Bookings essential.

11.01.2022 When a fluffy, white dog finds a mud puddle to play in... Thats Lucy for ya!

10.01.2022 Keep an eye out for the upcoming Ipswich City Councils tourism campaign featuring @thellamafarm in print, digital and on city billboards. The photo shoot occurred today on a stunning, clear Ipswich afternoon.

09.01.2022 Bookings are filling fast for next Saturday and Sunday due to the Ekka long weekend. Limited spaces are available on our morning farm tours and afternoon llama walks next weekend. Closed Friday the 14th...

09.01.2022 Were on Totally Wild on Sunday morning on 10 Peach at 8am if youre interested in watching. You can check out Diesel our donkey foal.

09.01.2022 I couldnt resist taking these photos tonight as the moon rose while I was down at the stables. Our turkey gobblers roost there in the safety of our donkeys who keep foxes at bay. The near full moon looked stunning behind them while I was locking up for the night.

08.01.2022 Our very handsome tuxedo llama Wallace turns 6 years old today. He’s still as cute as the day he was born.

08.01.2022 Sunday afternoon vibe at the farm. What a gorgeous day.

08.01.2022 Life is definitely calmer with a llama. This is Oscar. Shane was there when he was born and they will always share a special bond as a result. You can meet the very handsome Oscar when you next visit us @thellamafarm

07.01.2022 Unfortunately, we are now closed and in lockdown as per today’s State Government directive for 3 days. We are accepting bookings for next Tuesday 12th January unless things change again. Stay safe everyone.

07.01.2022 As 2020 draws to a close, we want to say thank you to everyone who visited us at The Llama Farm this year. We really appreciated your support and hope to see you again in 2021. Wishing you and yours a safe, healthy, happy and prosperous new year. Let’s hope that 2021 is full of fun. It’s going to be a llamazing year!

07.01.2022 When Mocha decides that you’re not going anywhere...

06.01.2022 Faces on the Farm #35 - Dominic Dominic is our Australian Teamster donkey stud jack. He is a stunning boy with a rock solid conformation. Many farm visitors often admire or comment on his bold and prominent Jerusalem cross marking across his shoulders and back. Dom came to us with his best mate Duncan as yearling foals over two years ago. Initially, he was very timid and shy but over time and with a lot of interaction, Dom now approaches us for a pat and a cuddle. He is a... very affectionate jack who is happy to hang out with us in the paddock for company alongside Duncan. Recently, his new girlfriends arrived @thellamafarm and they will soon form a small breeding herd together. Australian Teamsters are named after their original purpose of hauling heavy freight wagons in huge teams during the 1800s in arid Australia. They were eventually released to roam as wild donkeys when the working teams were disbanded and their services no longer required. Teamsters have since evolved as an Australian breed over time due to their pure bloodstock remaining isolated from the rest of the world over the past century. Dominic is a beautiful, handsome, large donkey that you can meet when you visit us @thellamafarm soon.

06.01.2022 We’re celebrating our 1st Birthday today. A big thank you to everyone who has visited and supported us over the past year. It’s been a lot of fun sharing our farm and animals with you!

06.01.2022 Our giant rabbit girls were desexed last week in Ballina, New South Wales as part of our rabbit licensing requirements for the Queensland Government. I cannot speak highly enough of Racecourse Road Veterinary Hospital team. You guys are amazing! Thanks again for taking such great care with our big bunny awesome foursome!

05.01.2022 Hopefully, today’s predicted rain is more of a treat than a trick!

05.01.2022 As disappointing as the rain is for our visitors having to postpone their tours today, it is wonderful to see the wet stuff steadily falling from the sky. Its been such a long time since weve had rain of any kind. Lets hope it pours because we need it so badly.

05.01.2022 Little Llama Farmers is on next Thursday the 24th of September. Tickets are available via this link.

05.01.2022 Yesterday was bitter sweet. We took our beautiful Cindy up to our friends camel dairy on the Sunshine Coast to socialise with other camels after being on her own for so long. Our animals welfare is always our first priority so giving her this opportunity means a lot to us. Cindy is only on holiday and will be back with us @thellamafarm soon enough. When she returns, Cindy will have two new paddock mates to keep her company and will be the matriarch of her own little herd. Stay tuned!

05.01.2022 Look who is due to pop! Shirley is showing us every sign that her cria is due any moment now. She has bagged up with milk as you can see in the photo and her teats are very swollen. Do you think shes having a boy or girl?? Stay tuned for the pitter patter of a little llama!

05.01.2022 No prob-llamas here, only smiles! Thanks to The Llama Farm

05.01.2022 If youre a regular visitor to the Brisbane Ekka, then youll know that we normally support the RACQ Animal Nursery with llamas each year. Its always great to see the same regulars come along to get their annual llama fix year after year. Today would have been Day 1 of 10 but alas, COVID strikes again. It feels very strange not being there for Ekka 2020 with our animals...

04.01.2022 It certainly is... * This image is thanks to the work of Haydn L Angelico Jarvis and his family

04.01.2022 Yesterday was Pedicure Day for our donkeys and ponies. Our farrier, Travis paid a visit to give everyone a hoof trim. They all did really well. Little Diesel had his first, foal hoof trim and was a rockstar! Hes growing like a weed.

03.01.2022 Heres a clip of the girls heading to a new paddock this morning. The were very excited despite the chilly temperature Llamas express their excitement physically by jumping around and throwing their head and legs about with sheer joy. Its a beautiful thing to see...

02.01.2022 We had a perfect afternoon llama walk yesterday with a great bunch of people. Ten of our walking boys showed our visitors just how gentle and calm llamas really are. Life is definitely calmer with a llama!

02.01.2022 Wishing all the Dads out there a very relaxing day being spoilt by your family. Happy Father’s Day!

02.01.2022 We’re officially on foal watch! Boots is very close to foaling which is both exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time. Fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly. We’ve been waiting to meet this little foal for a long time. Poor Bootsie looks very uncomfortable and ready to burst.

01.01.2022 Our little man has a name! Meet Reggie. He is almost two weeks old already and growing like a weed. Shirley is a great mother to this little rascal. Reggie appears to be enjoying all the attention of our farm tour visitors. We have many more cria on the way so keep an eye on our social media for future birth notices as they arrive.

01.01.2022 Hey Brisbanians! Discover Ipswich tourist billboards will run in the Myer Centre soon featuring local attractions including The Llama Farm.
