25.01.2022 Lets not forget about photo ID!!!! Its an integral part of being an Aussie citizen- we need it as proof of who we are, to travel, sign forms and enjoy other life privileges such as credit/bank cards. Our personal preference is the 'Proof of Age' card as it looks and feels like a drivers license, and therefore quite typical to what we'd expect to find in every adults wallet! ... Some of our mentees are also being supported to obtain their Student Card (and enjoy the perks of special student discounts!) 24.01.2022 Maintaining social connections during Covid19 is critical in keeping people happy and healthy. Its been wonderful to support many individuals to deepen their relationship roles:- One person has hosted regular Zoom dinner parties with her friends. Another has spent time cooking up a storm, and dropping off food packages to loved ones. ... Another of our mentees has sent handwritten letters to his co-workers at Kinfolk Cafe These are all intentional efforts made behind the scenes to help ensure that no one is forgotten, and everyone feels connected. We're all in this together...separately!

16.01.2022 We have loved seeing many of our mentees build on their skills and knowledge in 'Covid19 lockdown', pursuing the highly valued role of student. This is building their competencies in their chosen career paths. -An IT Guru has enrolled in a Programming Course. -A Certificate II in Sport & Rec for the Sportsman. -The aspiring Teacher is working towards a Childcare Certificate.... -A Fashionista is completing her Visual Merchandising degree. -The Handyman just received his OH&S certificate. -A Food Handling Course was awarded to the Hospitality Employee. -And more... What part have we played? Our role varies depending on each persons needs and preferences. The LMC Group has provided support with researching and enrolling in courses, navigating and induction to the campus or online portal, scheduling/timetabling, modifying course material, providing 1:1 study buddy support and linking students with tutors.

15.01.2022 Thankyou to ABC RN Life Matters for inviting Lauren Mandel (Managing Director, The LMC Group) alongside Osher Marks (Podcaster) onto this mornings show. We loved hearing more about the story of Osher, the talented voice behind the new homemade 'Duncans Disasters' podcast series. Additionally, LMC felt very fortunate to share our philosophies, values and celebrate some success stories we've been a part of. We see this a wonderful opportunity for strengthening communities awareness that the good life is attainable for all.

RL is a boutique giftcard business selling directly to the public and wholesaling to local shops (including Golds Judaica, Kosher Kingdom, Chocalitine and more) The business concept stems from Zalman's skills in arts/creativity; his interest in nature, sending warm greetings to friends and family all around the world and of course, his great sense of humour! 08.01.2022 Hard to believe...it was two years ago to the day, that we took a leap of faith and commenced on our journey as 'the LMC Group'. The last two years has flown by. It is so heart-warming to reflect on our initial visions and now the actualisation of our aiding roles in peoples lives. Some highlights- Seeing people move into their own homes, gain their dream jobs, travel, connect with others who share their passions, gaining certificates in their chosen area of expertise and m...ore! Additionally, growing from a solo-team, to the humble 'LMC' family has been a wonderful adventure. Thank-you to all our friends, families and supporters for inviting us to be a part of your world.

08.01.2022 A huge shout out to one of our dear mentees, who has just completed his Certificate II in Sport and Recreation. This is the 'pineapple topping on your Hawaiian pizza' after a wonderful year of hard work and determination. Completing this course has been a valuable time investment during Covid19 lockdown and in preparation for re-joining the workforce as the Leisure Services Officer at Waves Leisure Centre and trainee at Glen Eira Leisure LMC has enjoyed the journey as your study buddy, and helping decode and apply the course material together. Now, let the celebrations begin!

The beauty of this venture is how it has given Lily (Founder) meaning and purpose, as well as helping to keep people connected during Covid19 lockdown- a potentially very isolating time. We really feel for those whose degrees and careers have been deferred or put on hold. The LMC Group is working hard to ensure we can continue to welcome and host like-minded students to complete their placements with us. 05.01.2022 Lauren Mandel (Managing Director, LMC) had the privilege of joining David Southwick (MP) in his recent "Business Shoutout"; an opportunity to help spruik and promote small local businesses. In this interview, David connected with Lauren as well as Zalman Feiglin, the legend behind Reb Legend. 'Reb Legend' is a bespoke creative business, making cards to suit all occasions. It is a microbusiness enterprise which draws on Zalman's strengths in creativity and gifting to others. ...Behind every great leader, is a great team. Zalman has been directly supported by the Reb Legend ‘family’. 05.01.2022 We are SO happy that our dear friends at Lentil As Anything will continue to shine! Amazing to see the Melbourne community get behind this wonderful food venture... And no doubt one of our mentees, an avid Cafe Assistant, will be eager to return to his workplace in the near future! In the interim, he is enjoying keeping connected to L.A.A work friends and completing his online food handling certificate.

04.01.2022 Quantitative data can't really, truly capture the impact our role has on others. However, it is exciting to do some number crunching and see some positives illuminate. LMC In Numbers:... # of paid work roles we've been involved with: 19 # of microbusiness we've been supporting: 10 # of home arrangements we're supporting: 6 # of students hosted on placement: 5 # of months we've been running for: 29 19 + 10 + 6 + 5 = 30 things we're quite proud of, in just over 2 years.

It sounds like it will be a wonderful way to learn more about Customised Employment, an area we are super passionate about- setting people up to succeed in enriching and sustainable careers based on their preferences, skills, strengths and interests.
