18.01.2022 You might have seen the sign in our window and wondered what’s happening at The Local. It’s been almost 6 years since we were handed the keys to what was a run down space. We breathed life into it to create a relaxed community cafe. It has been an amazing place to raise our child and make friends in the wonderful Huon Valley. We have opened through bushfires, floods and a pandemic. We have been proud to have built a space for the community to connect and for families to relax. And of course, we have enjoyed brewing the best @villinocoffee. But it’s time for our family to focus on new things, so after much deliberation, we feel it’s time to pass the baton to someone new. In the meantime, we remain open as usual while we look for the right buyer. Please continue to support us.

13.01.2022 Well. After 6 years, almost to the day, tomorrow will be our last day of owning The Local. It will be a day of very mixed emotions. We have loved how it has allowed us to connect with our community. We have raised our son there and have tried to support and grow our community every day. We have been open through fire, flood and pandemic and have shared incredibly fun and happy moments, and a few sad ones with you all. We have made friends that we will keep for life and hav...e enjoyed our interaction with you everyday. The Local will go on, with a new owner at the helm and the same friendly faces behind the counter, but for us, the journey is over. We want to thank you all for your support over the years, especially those that have been with us from the start. And, we especially want to thank all of the guys that have worked with us over the years and who have made The Local what it is. We will miss you all. We wish the new owners good luck in their new venture and we hope The Local looks after them as it has with us.
