The historic station master’s residence the vendors bought on eBay to save from demolition and transported to Clunes to run as holiday rental The Lodge under the Dayget umbrella. This house at 4 Smith Street, Clunes, is on the market, after it was transported to the town from Williamstown. The residence has functioned as popular holiday rental The Lodge.... The Smith Street house has a $690,000 asking price. The 1904-built weatherboard was cut in half and driven about 135km to Clunes, where it was put back together over two weeks on a 1005sq m block at 4 Smith Street. Owners James Hardy and Jack Hastings told the Herald Sun last year they then spent nine months renovating the three-bedroom house, retaining period charm in the form of stained-glass windows and doors, 4m-high ceilings, metal lacework, hand-carved fretwork and mantelpieces, cast-iron fireplaces and polished floorboards. Belle Property Daylesford’s Angela Flowers has the listing with a $690,000 asking price. 05.01.2022 Property in Clunes has certainly been in the news a lot over recent weeks. And much of that interest can be traced back directly to aura envoloping town as a ...direct result of the sale of Hillcrest. This is a neighboring property to the the Lodge and was sold by our best mates who created through blood sweat and plaster tears one of the most architectally stunning properties in Country Victoria. Their sense of style and attention to detail never fails to leave me gob smacked and in total awe. Vale Hill, also mentioned in the attached story was a previous build of theirs too. We will certainly miss our times together in the two houses, but I'm looking forward to more adventures in Clunes and further afield.

01.01.2022 Such a nice surprise to see the Lodge featured on the front page of the Dayget website yet again. We have always felt so very grateful for the Lodge to be accepted as part of the exclusive Dayget portfolio of vacation rental properties. You just can't phone then up and say please manage our property. They have a tough selection criteria that ensures all properties meet certain standards and that product owners offer is of a high and consistant standard. Their management tea...m and the boutique concierge style service they offer to our guests is second to none. We can't recommend them more highly for anyone looking for the best managemet team in the business.
