24.01.2022 Have you heard the story about the guy walking along a road and far in the distance he can see a cross road. He spends the entire rest of the walk contemplating which way he should turn. Worrying if he’ll go the right way? What if he turns right and he was meant to turn left? ... When he gets to the cross road there is a sign clearly stating GO THIS WAY! He hadn’t needed of worried. The sign was there all along but it only became clear when he was ready to see it! If you’re a little like me atm, wandering along a road and wondering which direction to turn next. Let’s do our best to trust that a sign will become clear when we are meant to see it. In the meantime let’s enjoy the walk and reframe the uncertainty to a feeling of curiosity and unlimitless possibility.

22.01.2022 I mean who takes notes on a date??? Yep that would be me!!... Jase and I went on a quick date tonight to @mrcurtis_eatery and it was divine as usual! We just LOVE IT there. Maybe it's the insane view? Maybe it's the eclectic, funky decor? Definitely the food..... But it sure did inspire some beautiful conversation. The structure of business is passion That’s one of the notes I took from our conversation tonight. After our MANY years in business and coaching and systems and plans...... None of it matters, none of it will hold you up if the passion isn't there! Lucky for Jase his passion is Boundless and I have no doubt the structure of Endless Sunday - Dirt Bike Technicians Mount Martha will be rock solid. How about you? If you were to base your business around passion how strong is your structure? Something pretty important to consider sometimes.

22.01.2022 Jase! Grab me a pen and paper. Take some notes. I’m going to write a book. This one of my demands mid labor (mind you ) with Malachi my first baby. Back then I wasn't a very spiritual person and I wouldn't say I was deeply connected to my body like I am now, but in that moment I had this certainty that what I was feeling and becoming aware of during this birth of needed to be recorded and shared.... I had no idea if it was coincidence, the gas or if it would even make sense when I looked back on it, but in that moment I was determined that I needed to take notes on the connections and observations I was experiencing in the midst of labour so I could help other women one day. Jase did as he was told and grabbed something to write on. Senses I dictated to him.. So here I am nearly 14 years later and finally writing the book I declared I was going to during labour! I have grown and evolved so much in that time, birthed another two beautiful babies into the world and guided hundreds of women throughout their pregnancy and births. Over the years my study, research and experience has helped me make sense of the notes I dictated through that first labour. The influence our emotions and environment have over our bodies is intriguing and I now know it wasn't just me and that my method has helped so many others too. I can't wait to help many more. Book nearly done. It will be released 2021. In the meantime Pregnancy Discovery sessions and Birth Preparation sessions are available by appointment in person or via Zoom. Head to my website www.studiosamsara.com.au for more info. Pic - Colour of Life Photography

21.01.2022 Do you work with your Bandhas? Your what? they say...... When I meet new clients that have been practicing Yoga for years and they say their back pain or pelvic floor problems are persisting the first thing I ask is, Do you work with your Bandhas?... The majority have no idea what I’m talking about and unfortunately have never been taught them. They are what is going to help your back and pelvic floor! Bandhas are energy locks or seals and are very similar to what we do in Pilates when we activate our Pelvic Floor and Deep Abdominals. (Well that’s two of the Bandhas Mula and Uddiyana) The activation that comes with Bandhas is a non negotiable in my opinion just as is the Yin element that is missing from Pilates. I have a huge list of non negotiables that after teaching movement for 2 decades I know wholeheartedly your clients need and deserve. Unfortunately they aren’t often taught in standard teacher trainings. If you are ready to break the mould and expand your awareness and that of your clients you are going to love the I AM TEACHER TRAINING - Integrative Awakened Movement. It’s an Enlightened Professional Development that is going to transform the way you and your clients feel, move and think in class and every day life. If you are a dedicated student of Pilates and Yoga and want to deepen your awareness you will also LOVE this training. Head to our website www.studiosamsara.com.au For more details or get in touch. I’d love to hear from you. Sarah xx

19.01.2022 Do you guys remember the shoot we did with Lisa Atkinson Photographer for her All Dressed Up Nowhere to go campaign? Well she is making her campaign into a magazine. What a beautiful keepsake with over 60 women sharing their memories from Lockdown and their hopes as we return to normal. (Preorders available on her website NOW) ... One of the questions she asked was Do you have any funny stories to tell of life in iso? I didn’t really but I did have one of when we escaped. Legally of course! When we had the break after Lockdown 1 I was meant to be heading to Byron for work. I arrived home one day to hear they were closing the borders in a few days and our flights would be cancelled. I didn’t like that so I got home from work and said to Jase and the kids. Jump in the car we’re driving! We left a few hours later, crossed the vic/nsw border at 11.11 (I knew from that moment it was going to be a great trip) and checked into our accommodation at 11.58 pm. If we had have checked in at 12.00 they would have had to reject us but because we checked in before midnight we got to stay and enjoy our holiday. We ended up staying in Byron for 2 weeks and then we were allowed to go to the Gold Coast. We stayed there for a week before slowly heading home, unexpectedly buying a Kombi (an amazing story for another day) and slowly explored more of the East Coast. I’m so glad I listened to my gut. We had the most amazing time and created memories to last a lifetime.

16.01.2022 What does it feel like when we are at a retreat? It’s bliss isn’t it! Pure bliss. Our environment and the energy surrounding us has such a profound influence on the way we feel. ... 11.01.2022 Funny Story.... Back in Covid when I was holding Poolhouse Privates I met a lovely new client who was an ex athlete and now happily retired. Note the word RETIRED. When it came to the end of the session and I asked her if she would like to choose a card she said yes. As I was reading her card I started to cringe inside,... Your business idea will be a success. It will bring abundance...... It went on to reveal a new venture for her and inside I was thinking that the card was completely misaligned as she had just stated she was retired. That thinking mind just loves to get in the way doesn’t it. Well my thinking mind was completely wrong as the client revealed that the card was perfectly aligned as she had just picked up her business cards and was starting a pet sitting business. I love this story as it was a beautiful reminder for me that thinking and assuming try to get in the way of universal intelligence and yet their efforts are futile. End of story ..... we’re off to Tasmania today and our Sunny Boy (our reindeer) is heading off to Stay, Walk, Play Dog Caring the new business of my retired client. Cue the tears as we’ve never left him since he came to us at Christmas last year.

05.01.2022 Journalling os such a great tool for releasing persistent thoughts and relieving an overwhelmed mind. If I journal in the morning I always have a better day. When we journal in the morning we clear out the clutter so we can move through the day feeling lighter with more clarity.... A little like sitting down to relax in a beautifully clean room. It feels so much better doesn’t it. A day without journalling in the morning to me feels like sitting and relaxing with mess all around you. When I write it’s like I’m cleaning out the top layer of my mind. It’s a little like my to do list is always there right at the top. Random words like lunch, air conditioner, car needs a service Until I just keep writing and then the pen takes over. Journaling is an opportunity to surrender and just allow. Not trying to control what to write but to just let it flow without any inhibitions or judgements. Some people are worried that their partners or family will find their journal and this prevents them from writing freely. I recommend getting a cheap notepad to write in and as soon as you’re finished you can rip out the pages and burn them. Although a really great thing to do before burning it is to read what you have written outloud. Often when we journal we write things that we are too scared to say in real life. It is so important to release what we are holding onto deep down inside. We don’t want to move through life feeling superficially strong when on the inside we feel weak and are filled with deep subconscious fears and blockages. So write, read it out and then burn it. Not only is it a great way to clear your mind, but a cathartic experience too. You might be surprised to see that when journalling you may download some beautiful insights or inspiration, ideas or precious memories. If there is something that comes through I suggest rewriting into a different journal. One that you keep and treasure, one that doesn’t hold all of your rubbish that needs to be released but just your inner knowings and wisdom.

04.01.2022 Is anyone else’s phone now randomly flashing memories up on your screen? This pic keeps flashing up for me. It’s right at the start of The Loft in Mornington.... It feels like forever ago and it’s hard to think we were only open just over a year before Lockdown. I look like I’m preaching and I guess I was. But I wasn’t preaching my word I’m encouraging you to preach your own. YOU know the answers, you are capable of discovering what it is you need to do and to let go of the comparison and the inhibitions holding you back so you can step into your uniqueness and authenticity. Movement really is only a tiny part of what we do at The Loft isn’t it. So back to these memories flashing up..... Rather than just quickly glancing at them let’s use them as an opportunity to reflect..... - To look back at how far we have come since that moment - To be grateful for that moment, this moment and the possibility of what’s to come. - To consider if the path we are on is still relevant and true? - Are there changes that need to be made?

04.01.2022 Do you always walk with a friend? Your partner? Music in your ears? A podcast? ... Do you ever walk alone? It’s my favourite thing to do. Walking alone, no company, no distractions is when I find the most clarity and the best downloads. Sure I with Jase sometimes, but I can't do without my solo walks. I have had so many client's over the years say they can't sit still to meditate. You don't need to be still to meditate. Meditation can be movement too. The next time you’re looking answers or need to quieten your monkey mind head on out for a walk. (No distractions, no friends, just you) As you walk and observe your surroundings also observe your thoughts. Let them come, no judgement ..... You are the observer of your surroundings. You are the observer of your thoughts too. Just as we stop noticing a certain surrounding as soon as we move past it, we can stop noticing a certain thought too. It’s that simple! But simple isn’t always easy. As you walk, after awhile you may notice that little messages pop in. An answer to a question. An exciting new idea. A fresh perspective. If you’re anything like me be sure to have your journal or notebook ready to go when you get home because mine sure gets a workout as soon as I walk in the door!

01.01.2022 Please tell me you don’t judge your success on social media by the LIKES you receive? I just thought I’d mention this as I know how disheartening it can feel if put your heart into a post and you can get little to no feedback. How scared many feel about posting in the first place! ... Your number of likes or comments has no reflection on the amount of people who are actually out there enjoying and benefiting from your content. The reason I’m writing this post is just this week I have literally been stopped in the street by so many from people that follow my page but I had no idea they were reading and enjoying the content?? When people don’t like or comment it can be easy to believe that they didn’t see or like the post. As I was reminded so much this week that is simply not true. I also spoke to someone who I had no idea even followed me and she said she loved the message behind my posts and had already bought and read the Soul Modes book?? So what I’m getting at is KEEP GOING. Irrelevant if you are getting feedback or not. Just because they don’t like or comment doesn’t mean they didn’t read it or learn something from it. If we are sharing a message with the intention of helping or inspiring others we don’t need external feedback. It will feel good on the inside and that is the only validation we should ever really need.
