20.01.2022 This is for the bereaved dads. . The dads who sat in hospital chairs with us while we waited. . The dads who held our hands when we stared at silent screens.... . The dads who asked "Can I hold her now?" because you knew that time was precious. . The dads who came running when we yelled for them to "Come quick, I think something's wrong." . The dads who felt helpless. . That dads who weren’t allowed to come in. . The dads who would do anything to fix this. . The dads who couldn't leave work but would be there as soon as they could. . The dads who drove us to appointments even when they were so distraught they couldn't see where they were going. . The dads who said "It's okay," even when it wasn't.. . The dads who knew just what to say. . The dads who struggled to find the words. . The dads who have cried. . The dads who have never cried. . The dads who are afraid to cry because it feels like they will drown in the tears. . The dads who speak up for us. . The dads who stand beside us. . The dads who carry children in their hearts. . This is for the bereaved dads, because this is for the dads. . We love you. . www.unexpectedfamilyouting.com See more

18.01.2022 On first count, and assuming all pledges from the silent auctions come in, the Longest Rally for Sands Australia raised ... $3579.15 we cannot thank our sponsors, the local community, and our volunteers enough. This was a smaller event than last time. However, the weather was kind to us, our community once again stood up and showed support for a topic that is quite confronting. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and will send a more detailed report and thank you after all pledges are received. In loving memory of our son Jonty

09.01.2022 My Mom is a survivor, Or so I've heard it said. But I can hear her crying at night When all others are in bed. I watch her lay awake at night... and go to hold her hand. She doesn't know I'm with her to help her understand. But like the sands on the beach That never washes away... I watch over my surviving mom, Who thinks of me each day. She wears a smile for others... A smile of disguise! But through Heaven's door I see Tears flowing from her eyes. My mom tries to cope with death To keep my memory alive. But anyone who knows her knows It is her way to survive. As I watch over my surviving mom Through Heaven's open door... I try to tell her those angels Protect me forever more. I know that doesn't help her... Or ease the burden she bears. So if you get a chance, go visit her... And show her that you care. For no matter what she says... No matter what she feels. My surviving mom has a broken heart That time won't ever heal. Wonderfully written by Kaye Des'Ormeaux October 15, 1998 Dedicated to all the moms who have lost a precious child and somehow managed to survive

04.01.2022 Loss can be incredibly difficult to navigate. Often family and friends just don’t know what to say when someone they love loses a baby. Sometimes they say the... wrong thing with the best intentions, or sometimes it’s hard to understand the depths of the emotions that the parents experience; if they have not experienced baby loss, themselves. This is why we’ve created a series of infographics, that we hope will help you navigate these hard conversations. We hope this will serve as a ‘reference guide’ for what to say and what not to say to loss parents. Always remember, when in doubt, I’m sorry and offering a listening ear, can be the best thing to say. On this post, we invite you to share what people have said to you regarding the loss of your baby(s). These can be both things that have positively or negatively affected you. We also appreciate suggestions to add to our infographic series. We are always here to listen. #wemiscarriedorganization
