25.01.2022 OK! Thank you so much for all your feedback, you beautiful people! After our team meeting this morning, this is the schedule we will play around with from the new year to respect the space and privacy of everyone accessing services and the shop.... Group Strength Training classes specifically for Trail and Ultra runners. Monday Morning 6-7am and 7-8am Monday Evening 5-6pm and 6-7pm Wednesday Morning 6-7am and 7-8am Thursday Lunch 12-1pm Thursday Evening 5-6pm Sessions will be $35 and limited to 4/class so please register online in advance so you don't miss out. (Private health claimable by most private health care providers. I have HICAPS available onsite). A 10 pass discount will be available. Myself and Wayne from Tribe and Trail will be hosting Group interval and technique drill sessions from the 14th of Jan on Thursday evenings 6-7pm. 22.01.2022 Exciting times ahead at The Long Run. The recovery boots are on order and I should have them available to book for recovery sessions from early next week. Let me know if you're interested in trying them out. I'll also be bringing them with me to Kings and Queens in a few weeks so if I don't see you before, you can try them out then.... Secondly, Dry needling is something I get asked about a lot!! You wanted it, so I'm delivering. Not only am I doing the Introductory course in 2 weeks time, but I'm completing the Advanced course as well. 12.01.2022 My heart is a little broken! It was always going to be a long shot when a snap shutdown was called one week out. But, it’s also a healthy reminder. Perth and the rest of WA has enjoyed 10 long months of zero community transmissions and we’ve had the luxury of a relatively free lifestyle while the rest of the world has struggled to get this COVID-19 beast under control.... Shutting down a city and the greater metro area for one community case of the mutant UK strain may seem extreme to many watching on, but we want to get things back to the ‘normal’ we have so enjoyed sooner rather than later. At the end of the day, no number of potential lives lost or long term Heath consequences are worth the risk. So we follow the directives to protect not only ourselves, but our greater community. Stay safe. We’ll all live to run another day.

04.01.2022 SO, last week during lockdown, I had plenty of time to reflect on why I'm so passionate about being a physio who understands runners. I jumped on a presentation by other physios who are based in the eastern-states to hear what they had to say about running and strength training. And I'm so glad I did. Not because I learned anything particularly new, but I was delighted to hear they say all things I tell my clients and my strength crew. ... The biggest takeaways? especially if you are struggling to get strength work in - 1 session a week is better than nothing. - 2 is better - if it means dropping a shorter easy run on a double day?! do it.. Prioritise your strength training. We're always chasing that thing that helps us improve right? But if strength training could potentially improve your running economy by 2- 8% (those Nike Vaporflys 4%.. pffft) and knock 2-5% of your 5km TT why wouldn't you do it?!
