25.01.2022 I remember a really long time ago, I wanted to be able to take pictures that look like snapshots. Carefree, happy, technically imperfect pictures. Ironically, only now can I do that with confidence. I’m so much more comfortable in the technically correct corner, and I really have to challenge myself to take photos like these. I love how Donna and Cormac’s beach photos turned out, and it’s a good reminder to trust in what you know, and see what magic appears Thank you to @...weddingsandeventsunlimited for giving me the opportunity to photograph this beautiful elopement and a big thanks to @jailong.co for the ideas. . . #perthelopement #perthweddingphotographer #perthweddingphotography #perthbride #perthperthwedding #thelovestoryphotography See more

24.01.2022 There’s something special about standing ‘neath a big tree to get married, don’t you think? . . . #perthwedding #perthbride #perthsmallwedding #perthelopement #perthsmallweddingphotographer #thelovestoryphotography

24.01.2022 Its not always easy to post current work when its winter, so heres one from a while back. Laura and Mark were a lot of fun and I remember being kinda nervous ( I still often am at weddings) but laughing a lot that day at their constant jokes. I remember this picture was taken right after one of those jokes.

23.01.2022 Tammies new step daughters, aged 13 and 10 helped her into her dress, and it was such a poignant moment to bear witness to. Just after theyd zipped her up, they also each put on one shoe for Tammie and practiced the lines theyd rehearsed to say in the ceremony about how much they love their kind, easygoing new step mum. Seeing the love, new bonds and bigger families being formed is one of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer. @ Mosman Park, Western Australia, Australia

23.01.2022 Kirstys bear, RT goes everywhere with her, and that included to the hotel room to keep her company before she married Ric. I think he looks happy to be in a photo to show his family who are in hibernation . A simple, intimate ceremony by @debrac_civil_marriagecelebrant for @perthmarriageoffice. 23.01.2022 When we were walking around the streets of Freo taking these photos, Nicholas kept calling Danielle his ‘smokin’ hot wife’. 22.01.2022 Although I mostly share pictures that are more posed, every wedding has a lot of spontaneity that must be captured These are the moments that will make you smile widest. 21.01.2022 Kirsty and Ric specially mentioned that they didnt want cheesy or overly posed photos. Im not a fan of those kind of pictures either, and my favourites are always the really natural moments. This was taken, when they looked at each other just after theyd finished saying their vows and is definitely one of my favourites of the day. Beautiful ceremony by @perthmarriageoffice @debrac_civil_marriagecelebrant

21.01.2022 I was very excited when Leone contacted me today to tell me that theyre finally getting round to printing some pictures and theyd love three big prints of their wedding to hang above their bed. Even though they were married in 2018, I keep everybodys images, and I was easily able to find and print them up. I cant wait to see how they look in the end. I loved this happy, relaxed family wedding and these are some of my favourite pics of the day - including the three prints . . . #perthwedding #perthweddingphotographer #perthphotographer #perthbride #elopeperth #perthcreative #weddingphotographer #thelovestoryphotography @ Perth, Western Australia

17.01.2022 Kerry and Steve were married exactly one year after they first met. With so much love between them, it was a privilege to be in their presence. I love a classic wedding pose, and am not a fan of tricks and fads, so you may have seen versions of this image a few times from me, but it just my favourite. Anthea . .... 17.01.2022 Weddings, I absolutely love them! People in love, beautiful cars, gorgeous clothes, flowers and happiness all round. What could be better? Heres Daniel and Shaun after their wedding just before the world went crazy.

17.01.2022 Ive been thinking about what a privilege it is to be a wedding photographer, and specifically about trust. At its most basic, you trust your wedding photographer to arrive, to be polite, well-groomed and friendly. You trust that theyll deliver your images in a reasonable timeframe, and that the pictures will be good. But much more, you trust your wedding photographer to bear witness to your unique day, without bias, agenda or ego, and with a creative eye. You trust that w...hen you look back at your photos, theyll be a beautiful, happy and authentic collection to treasure forever. Thank you so much to everyone has trusted me on one of the most precious days of their life. I am grateful. Anthea

16.01.2022 Muka is such a lovely, warm person, and made a truly elegant bride. My favourite moment at her wedding to Kevin, was when her new stepson rushed up to her after the ceremony, gave her a huge cuddle, looked up at her and said Mum.

16.01.2022 When Susie wrote me and said My best friend and I are getting married on the South Perth foreshore. Its only a very simple wedding ceremony, with a couple of people I couldnt reply fast enough. Small, simple and heartfelt ceremonies are my very favourites.

16.01.2022 Today Stu and I have been married 18 years. It was kind of a crazy wedding, because three days before, the venue we had booked for our reception told us that they had made a mistake with the dates, and they werent expecting us until the following week. I didnt stress too much and remember saying that I would be happy if we had our reception at a pizza joint, just as long as we were married. It all worked out in the end though. We had a perfect warm winters day, I was able... to wear my strappy dress without feeling cool. That night I also met one of my best friends, Ash, who crashed the dancing part of the evening. Everyone went home with a Sunday Times newspaper and a chocolate cupcake in a box. To rememberi it all by, I have this tarnished, treasured framed print and I still look at it most days. (Oh yes, I forgot to mention that our ceremony was in front of the shark tank at the Cape Town aquarium. But thats a story for another day.) Happy anniversary Stu. Youve survived.

14.01.2022 Ive got one last wedding to pack up and my heart is heavy. I am already missing being out and about and sharing in the fun of weddings. I know the world will change again, but for now, Im just allowing myself to be a tiny bit sad. Sending love to all x

14.01.2022 Perth has some good backgrounds, doesnt it? We just asked nicely and security at the Supreme Court hid around the corners for this shot

12.01.2022 A series of cute moments captured right outside Tammie and Crispins gate. They didnt want a lot of photos, or too much time away from their guests. And, it was getting dark fast. You really dont need to trek for miles or find a huge area for pretty photos if you dont want to @ Perth, Western Australia

12.01.2022 There are special days that form our childhood memories, the highlight reel of our lives. I know that when the years slip by and details get hazy, looking back at photos reminds us exactly of the joy we felt on these days. And thats why I love pictures - theyre a direct route back to our favourite of times. Im sure being at your parents wedding is right up there among the best days ever and here are Willow, Whyatt and Genevieve, in a portrait Id like to imagine being in the family forever.

11.01.2022 In photography, as in life, the in between moments are so often the very best. Those moments where you are simply, unapologetically yourself. 11.01.2022 Scott and Dianna live in England. A long time ago, they visited Perth and fell In love with Kings Park. They promised themselves that one day they’d come back and marry there. Indeed, two years ago, they returned to Perth with their darling boys and said their marriage vows overlooking the river with their close family and friends around them. 10.01.2022 I loved this pretty bouquet, featuring a King Protea, the National flower of South Africa. What kind of bouquet is your favourite?

10.01.2022 I always set a goal for myself to try and tell a couples unique story throughout their wedding day. Of course, rIngs form an integral part of the day and I like to find a perfect little spot for them, to portray the narrative. I bet you can easily guess where a lot of the festivities happened on this wedding day? X

09.01.2022 Jordan and Vicky met three years ago when Jordan was teaching English in China. Vicky attended his classes and they fell in love. After what must have seemed an interminable separation, Vicky joined Jordan in Perth recently. Their connection goes deeper than mere words, because according to Jordans mum, his Mandarin is as good as primary school level, and Vickys English is about university level. The loving glances that they shared all day long, are proof of this. I also ...thought I would let you know that all these photos were taken in just over an hour. How did we do that? We met 15 minutes before the ceremony at the Perth Marriage Office, for a few family photos, then after the registry zipped down to the blue boat shed, and finally up to Kings Park. The weather held out for us, and Vicky and Jordan were able to get a lovely range of images to remember their wedding day. @Perth Marriage Office

09.01.2022 Candid photos, everyone wants them and I love to take them. But for them to be truly beautiful too, the light needs to be right. 08.01.2022 What did I see today? A tiny groomsman! Im not often lost for words, but theres nothing to describe how cute I found this little guy.

08.01.2022 Like many couples, Julie and Bill had to scale back their big wedding celebration and they chose to marry in a simple, heartfelt ceremony at home. They posed for photos on their porch afterwards, while I stood at the front gate. At the time I didnt realise that porch photos were a brand new trend, but I love the concept of posing in front of your home. It feels really meaningful to me

08.01.2022 This picture was taken in 2015, at Zara and Andys wedding. It one of the first weddings I ever photographed. I still remember the nerves, the excitement, and the expectation and that was just for me! Since then, Ive spent years honing my skills to capture beautiful moments especially for couples who are having small, intimate weddings. Because I believe that every couple, no matter how small their wedding, deserves beautiful, professional photography. ... Ive got a few dates left in 2020. Get in touch if youd like your small wedding photographed.

08.01.2022 Hi everyone. I hope this post reaches you and your loved ones safe and well. Its been a while since I photographed a wedding and I must be on the right track in life, because I miss it madly. But being away from the world, like we all have, gives you time to appreciate other things. It has given me a chance to heal from a skin cancer I had removed from my face in February. Thanks to a brilliant surgeon, you cant see a thing now. There's been a lot more quality and creative... time spent with the family (they may say too much)! I've also had the opportunity to still stand behind the camera - a place I enjoy most - to capture a different kind of love story - photographing 50 Perth families undergoing isolation to raise funds for the Australian Medical Association and @perkinsinstitute. From birthday parties, to pet cuddles, I was honoured to capture happy glimpses into a lot of homes, buoyed by optimism, love and family in the face of a pandemic. I loved the project, which you can see more of at @antheakphotography Now that restrictions are being lifted, Im excited to be able to start photographing small weddings & elopements again, and being able to tell, through images, love stories of a very special day. Watch this space as I share more news and services on how my camera and I will be there to always capture your love story. X Anth

07.01.2022 This isnt the most exciting photo, but its important. I am a fully accredited professional photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. This means I am a proven, experienced, technically capable professional practitioner, who complies with all legal business requirements, has appropriate insurance and who is willing to agree to the mandatory Code of Professional Practice.

06.01.2022 The last few weeks have been thought provoking and have given me, and everyone, cause for self reflection. All lives matter, and all love matters. Everyone deserves respect, kindness and love, no matter what. These pretty flowers were from a very tiny wedding I photographed yesterday, between people who are in the golden years of their lives. Love matters, maybe even more at 80.

05.01.2022 The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper WB Yeats. Congratulations to Tania and Jordan on their one year anniversary and thank you to my lovely yoga teacher @ericschwarzyoga who got me mulling over this quote. Photography is all about noticing the small details, the light, the colours around us and the magic moments that are abundant on wedding days.

05.01.2022 Sophia and Daniels beautiful little wedding was so elegant. As we know, a lot of care and thought goes into the all the details that make it feel so special and unique, so I feel its important to capture it all. These detail pictures also look beautiful in your wedding album. @ South Perth, Western Australia

03.01.2022 I always like to set the rings in a way that tell a little story of the day. Today was a beautiful spring day, and the blossoms were the perfect backdrop.

02.01.2022 Heres a slightly random story: When I went to gym today, I told the trainer that I was completely demotivated. (He told me that he could see that, but thats besides the point! ) He then told me that I need to think of my why. Why do I come to gym? Im not sure about that answer quite yet, but it me made I think about why I love the work that I do. Why I specialise in small weddings is because I love them, and its my mission to devote the utmost attention, love and care to capturing the tiniest details for couples to share with people who arent there, or just simply to have to remember their special day forever.

02.01.2022 The Love Story Photography journey began in 2008 when I picked up a camera with a passion for capturing the laughter, happiness, joy and sometimes challenging life moments of families. And then four years ago, when we moved to Perth from South Africa, I turned my passion to capturing small weddings and elopements because I love them and I myself had a small celebration with my love. I know a wedding is one of the most important moments of a couples love story and I feel my r...ole is to be there as more than just your photographer. I am the scribe of your love story, and I believe everyone should have their story told the way they want it told, honestly, skilfully and with care. Over the last four years, Ive had the privilege of photographing many small weddings and elopements. Each has a place in my heart. Ive laughed, cried, signed marriage register, straightened ties, held babies and always, always tried to capture each wedding as beautifully as possible, for exactly what it is. The first small wedding I photographed here in Perth was Udi and Cias tiny ceremony next to a pond at Piney Lakes reserve. It was just the celebrant Delwyn and two witnesses. I remember that Cia was very nervous. She wore little slippers under her pretty dress and kept resting her head on Udis chest. After the tiny ceremony we all went out for coffee together to celebrate and Udi brought me a delicious, bag of sweet oranges to say thank you when he collected his prints. @ South Perth, Western Australia

02.01.2022 A few years ago, Eva and Rene were travelling around Australia and they bought these little Kangaroos. 01.01.2022 The beach photos started off normally but within a few minutes a troop of curious onlookers gathered, photo bombing every shot. 01.01.2022 Have you ever wondered where the tradition of carrying a wedding bouquet came from? Its said that the true origin of the wedding bouquet goes back to the 15th century when people didnt bathe terribly often and the wedding bouquet would hide body odour! Thankfully we have moved into an era of greater cleanliness, and nowadays, bouquets are just for prettiness. But, theyre also a very helpful prop for me as a photographer. They help me to pose couples, by giving them something to hold. No more awkward hands! Hold the bouquet together, drop it down by your side, use it to have a kiss behind...
