07.01.2022 In 1912 the Canberra Coffee Palace was built on the corner of Cambridge Parade & Stratton Terrace, serving refreshments as a guest house. The property changed hands many times over the years, with various applications failing to acquire a liquor license. In 1954 construction for The Manly Hotel began at a cost of 65,000 pounds, with materials from the old guest house transferred to The Manly Bowls Club.... May 1955 The Manly Hotel was officially opened, offering a silver service to house guests. Throughout the 50's the hotel held benefits and fashion parades in the ballroom. The hotel stood tall as the heart of Manly, even withstanding cyclonic damage in the early 60's. March 1970 the McDonald family took over the lease for the hotel, who still hold it to this day. This year The Manly Hotel celebrates it's 65th birthday, along with the 50 year anniversary of the McDonald's running the hotel!

This family-run pub on Brisbane's bayside, has been serving up good times, cold drinks, quality pub meals & cracking live entertainment since 1955! This casual position offers 8 - 20 hours across a flexible Monday - Thursday rotating roster that will include nights, with the occasional weekend or event work, as required. General duties include:... -Food preparation, cooking & presentation -Following menus, recipes & food safety procedures -Support Head Chef & the team in daily kitchen operations -Support & provide job coaching of others -Assisting with cleaning, sanitation & organisation of dishes, kitchen, coldroom & storage areas, to open and close -Adhere to safety, personal hygiene & strict COVID Safe standards The successful candidate must have: -Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, over lunch/dinner (pub/restaurant experience highly regarded) -Knowledge & skill in food cooking and preparation, including knife skills -Understanding of Food Safety Principles -Good personal presentation & hygiene -Good communication skills & ability to follow direction -Great work ethic & motivation to work in a team or autonomously -Shows initiative & eye for detail with a positive 'can-do' attitude -Ability to multitask, prioritize & self- time-manage Attention to detail & cleanliness is important, with successful applicants required to complete the free Tafe QLD COVID Safe for Dining In course.
