25.01.2022 MEET THE NEW CREW... Nice to meet you! Last month we became the proud new owners and management team of this iconic hostel. Hopefully, many of you have fond memories of your stay at this stunning heritage building in the heart of Melbourne, which built an excellent reputation under the previous owners. What are our plans? Will things change? Yes, they will but only for the better. Already the squeaky floors are gone, guests have fluffy new pillows and new mattresses and... beds on the way. Painters have arrived, a dorm has been sacrificed for a new TV Lounge, and there are some pretty significant renovations planned for the next few months. While the building will look its grand old self from the outside, come December the inside will have transformed into a beautiful boutique hostel. A new brand, playful personality, modern facilities, family vibe and the incredible team, will make guests feel more at home than ever. 11.01.2022 Its nearly time to farewell the much-loved Home at the Mansion and launch our new look and brand! We know lots of people have a strong connection with the hostel. But lets be honest, it was time for a facelift to improve travellers comfort! Over the past four months, the new team has been working feverishly to make major improvements to this grand heritage building. A lot has happened but here are the top 10 things weve done so far; Squeaky floors gone... New carpets throughout the whole building TV Lounge installed (yes we sacrificed a dorm to do it) New beds, mattresses, bedding and lockers in all rooms Each bed now has a powerpoint, light & privacy curtain Air-conditioning has been installed on Level 3 Weve put in a new super-fast free Wi-Fi system The entire building has been painted New swipe cards locks on all doors Revamped garden with new furniture and a BBQ And while the hostel might be a little bit fancier, we promise it will not lose its charm, character and great big heart!

02.01.2022 *** TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL 30 JUNE *** There is no question the impact of coronavirus is the most challenging time the world has seen in many decades. While we were taking additional precautionary measures to minimise the risk of coronavirus in our hostel, we felt it was in the best interest of public safety to close until the world returns to some sort of normality. We are devastated, and while it was a tough decision, we are confident it was the right one. When the time i...s right, we will fling open our doors, get our fantastic staff back on board and welcome many more travellers back into our grand heritage building. While we are closed, we will be working behind the scenes on completing our Climate Action Certification, to become a 100% carbon-neutral accommodation provider. Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us since we took over the property in August 2019. You are what makes The Mansion Melbourne such a special place.
