19.01.2022 Wondering what you could do to strengthen your brand? Simple. Post on social media consistently...or let us do it for you We recommending posting at least two or three times a week, as consistency is key.... This doesn’t need to be every day, and you don't want to overwhelm your followers by posting too much. But posting sporadically, or being totally inactive on social media, is just as bad! Plus, the social media platform - be it Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or anywhere else - may even punish you! Without regular posts, the algorithm may push anything you do post, to the bottom of your audience's feed. Want to learn more about social media? Check out our blog https://themarketinggp.com.au/category/social-media/ #TheMarketingGP #SocialMedia #Marketing #SocialMediaMarketing #Consistency #SocialMediaPosts
19.01.2022 Put yourself in your client's shoes when creating content. Ask yourself, if you were a customer: Would you realistically click on a post created by your company (if you had no affiliation)? Does your latest blog provide any value (and is it worth your customer's time to read it)? Is your brand trustworthy (and would you invest in the product being sold)?... It isn't enough to be a good business with great products - you need to reach your customers and make them believe in you! Here's a couple of ideas to help you do exactly that: Look to your unique selling position. What makes you stand out, and it is significant enough to catch your audience's eye? Consult your marketing strategy consistently. Everything you create should align with this. Will your customers see a cohesive, put-together brand when they turn to you? Assess your investments. Spending money on social media advertising is great - if it works. Maybe your customers don't like Facebook, but they spend a lot of time listening to the radio! Is your audience in the same space as your marketing efforts? If you don't have the time and resources to commit to effective marketing, perhaps it would be more beneficial to outsource it? Check out this blog and learn when's the right time to outsource https://themarketinggp.com.au/is-it-time-to-outsource-my-m/ #TheMarketingGP #Marketing #EssentialMarketingTip #Advice #MarketingAdvice #Outsource #Customer

16.01.2022 NEVER buy followers or likes. It might seem like a good way to boost your social media output, but you won't see the results you're hoping for Buying followers or likes can make your audience (and competitors!) question your motives and business model. It also means that your social media posts, that quality content your worked so hard on, is reaching the wrong audience! Most bought followers/likes are from different countries that don't even want your services - they are n...ot going to invest in your business. Rather than wasting your money on followers and likes, why not try an effective, tried-and-tested, marketing strategy? Our marketing plans are strategic, leveraged and integrated - meaning you get the most bang for your buck! 15.01.2022 We've all become accustomed to life with smartphones. Whether you're in work mode or family mode, these little computers have become a big part of our lives! So it makes sense to adjust your marketing efforts for potential customers that prefer to use their phone, over a computer. One important step in the process - and one we see forgotten far too often - is optimising your website for mobile! Take a quick moment now, and Google your website from your phone. How does it lo...ok? Does it take too long to load? Put yourself in your customer's shoes and ask yourself if there's any room for improvement Our team are multi-skilled, and one area we're particularly proud of is web development. So, no matter the issues you're having with your website, we can help! 15.01.2022 If you're working hard on your business, it can be difficult to make time for your marketing too. One quick and effective way to reach potential customers is social media! And, since so many of us use it in our personal lives, it's usually pretty simple to pick up But there's a lot of information out there on social media marketing, and you might find yourself feeling overwhelmed! After doing your research, be sure to set realistic expectations and priorities. For example,... if you're new to marketing your business on socials, valuable content should be your number one priority. When you become more advanced you can look into optimal posting times (when your followers are online), hashtags, and more. But for now, just focus on creating content that followers want to see. If you're providing value, and people like seeing your content, they're more likely to engage with it. And these comments, likes, and shares will adjust the user's algorithm to prioritise your posts - meaning they will continue seeing your content! You can learn more about the Instagram algorithm, and what it means for your business, here https://themarketinggp.com.au/instagram-algorithm/ #TheMarketingGP #Marketing #SocialMedia #SocialMediaMarketing #Value #Priorities #EssentialMarketingTip

12.01.2022 Avoid spammy hashtags on social media! Tags like #Like4Like and #Follow4Follow were very popular when platforms like Instagram first started, but they won't help you market your business effectively. Spammy hashtags will attract bots, scammers, and users who aren’t your ideal follower! This all leads to inauthentic marketing - which won't resonate with your actual target audience. Using relevant, targeted hashtags will be much more beneficial, and will lead to stronger brand... recognition among your followers. Learn more about hashtags in this blog https://themarketinggp.com.au/hashtags-the-dos-and-donts/ #TheMarketingGP #Marketing #Hashtags #Hashtag #SocialMedia #SocialMediaMarketing #EssentialMarketingTip
11.01.2022 Use your hashtags to reach a wider audience By using a combination of broad and less-popular hashtags, you can ensure you reach more people on social media. This means using some branded hashtags, which won't be used by many others (for example #TheMarketingGP), some more niche hashtags (think #NewcastleMarketing), and some generic ones too (like #Marketing)! A lot of businesses only focus on high-performing hashtags, but this may not always reap the best results. You will... have a better chance of showing up in the top of a hashtag's feed, when someone searches for it, if that tag isn't overly popular. For example, #Home has been used over 160 million times on Instagram - meanwhile, #HomeImprovement has only been used 3.2 million times. By using both broad and narrow hashtags, you give your brand a better chance of being seen! #TheMarketingGP #EssentialMarketingTip #Marketing #Hashtags #MarketingAdvice #MarketingTip
10.01.2022 We don’t want to scare you but too many businesses have sailed on their merry way before being pulled under the current of their competitors because they’re making common marketing mistakes that could easily be avoided We don’t want to see your business sink. We believe the best way to avoid those mistakes is to be aware of them! So here are seven common mistakes to be aware of, and what you can do about them if they sound all too familiar ... https://themarketinggp.com.au/seven-marketing-mistakes-bus/ #TheMarketingGP #MarketingAdvice #BusinessMarketing
09.01.2022 You know when you're shopping for a particular car, and then all of a sudden you begin to see that model everywhere? Once you start paying attention to your brand elements, you may start to have a similar experience! For example, our brand colours, purple and grey, are reflected perfectly in this gorgeous photo Employing a consistent visual brand is an easy way to improve the aesthetics of your feed, and ultimately improve brand recognition! It can also help your customers ...remember your business, and make them excited to keep coming back. Bear this in mind next time you're developing content. If green is your main colour, try taking your next team photo on the grass in a nearby park? Or, if it's red, why not paint a rich crimson feature wall in the office? Don't underestimate the power of branding colours Want to learn more about how to develop and implement a dynamic and engaging brand? 06.01.2022 MEET LAURA Laura is one of our Client Services Coordinators, and brings her love of creativity into everything she does at work! She’s a total drama geek, with her two favourite films being La La Land and Mamma Mia and Wait For It, from the Hamilton musical, is one of her fave songs! Outside of work, Laura also teaches drama at Young People's Theatre Newcastle (her theatrical skills are always welcomed at team dinners!) ... To get to know her better, we asked Laura a few questions , ? It sounds corny, but having this job. It wasn’t something I’d planned but a lot of the right pieces fell into place and I couldn’t be happier! I’m proud to have achieved so much at work as well in such a short time , ? I think maybe Emma Watson because I definitely had the exact same hair as her in the first two Harry Potter films and I’ve loved her ever since! Don’t know how she’d go with an Australian accent though / ’ ? My favourite place in the world is New York! 05.01.2022 As you may know by now, our team isn't exactly all work and no play. 03.01.2022 All social media sites use algorithms to determine who sees which post. One of these algorithms that has been discussed at length (especially as the platform grows in popularity!) is the Instagram algorithm So, how does it all work? And why does it matter for businesses using Instagram? We've written this handy blog to explain! ... https://themarketinggp.com.au/instagram-algorithm/ #TheMarketingGP #Marketing #Instagram #SocialMedia #Blog
03.01.2022 Your followers on social media are valuable - so don't forget to show them some love! That means regularly monitoring your accounts to ensure no messages or comments are going unanswered Social media gives us a unique opportunity to engage in two-way communication. Traditional marketing techniques, such as radio or newspaper advertising, is like talking at your customers - but social media allows you to talk them. Take advantage of this! You might even learn something ...new Another way to show love for your followers is to offer them some kind of value. This might be through an exclusive blog, free download, or even a giveaway. Your audience should know you appreciate them, and ensuring they feel that way will encourage positive brand awareness and word of mouth For us, we love knowledge-sharing on social media. 03.01.2022 The business world is changing - more customers these days are likely to see your website before they see your shopfront. In fact, according to a 2018 report by Google, 63 per cent of shopping occasions begin online (and that number has probably increased even more, especially during lockdown!) So, you need to treat your website like a digital shopfront - and that all starts with website hosting! Check out our blog to learn more https://themarketinggp.com.au/what-is-websi...te-hosting/ Or, book in a FREE 15 minute consultation with our Chief Marketer, Holly, to see what The Marketing GP can do for your business https://meetings.hubspot.com/holly73/video-meeting #TheMarketingGP #Website #Shopfront #Digital #Customer #Marketing #DigitalMarketing
01.01.2022 Don't make rash decisions around your marketing Unfortunately, a lot of marketing results take time to see - so you need to be patient. A good marketing plan may not result in new followers or increased sales right away, but that doesn't mean you should make snap judgements and rash decisions. You'll need time to see trends in your marketing before deciding what's next. Maybe you tried both print advertising and Facebook advertising, to see which works best. You'll need... to give each method some time before pulling the plug. For example if a Facebook ad hasn't generated leads after 24 hours, it doesn't mean you should give up. Give your target market time to see it before determining the effectiveness! And remember, these days it takes an average of eight touchpoints during the decision making process for a customer to buy. Our team have years of experience in the marketing world, so we can offer specific advice for your business. Get in touch to find out what The Marketing GP can do for you https://themarketinggp.com.au/contact/ #TheMarketingGP #Marketing #MarketingDecisions #Time #Paitent #Results #EssentialMarketingTip
01.01.2022 MEET CLAIRE Claire is our Melbourne-born Inbound Marketing Manager, who dedicates her days to helping our clients attract, engage and delight their customers A self-described ‘data-nerd’, Claire loves digging deep into clients' marketing and sales reports... and is our go-to for all things excel! ... She really enjoys working one on one with business owners, implementing the latest marketing software to streamline their sales and marketing processes. In the office she’s a silent assassin, who hates being told something can't be done. You'll often find her head down working hard to find a solution... later popping back up with a triumphant "I've worked it out!" Outside of work, Claire is a lover of adventure and travel! She has spent months exploring Europe, Asia, the USA and NZ and is hoping for Japan in 2021 To crack through Claire’s silent shell, and get to know her a little better, we asked her some questions ’ ? This is supposed to be impossible, but I can lick my elbow! haha.. oh and I once went cane toad racing in Port Douglas with Ian Somerhalder from Vampire Diaries.. ' ? I love experimenting in the kitchen, and really enjoy cooking for others. When dining out, I hate committing to one menu item though, so I usually lean towards anything that allows me to taste many different dishes... like tapas and yum cha! ? Being relatively new to the Hunter, I'm having a ball exploring my new home! You'll most likely find me hiking, driving up the coast, walking on the beach, or sipping a delicious gin cocktail in a new bar ’ ? The people. No question. It’s such a cliché thing to say, but we really are such a tight knit family here. A lot of businesses talk about how great their workplace culture is, but at The Marketing GP, you really feel it. Also, I’m incredibly lucky to work with the most amazing and diverse group of clients. Nothing makes me happier than when they come to me with a challenge, and I'm able to find a solution.
