24.01.2022 Performance managing CEO's can be difficult, most notably it's due to the business being either privately owned by one person who is the CEO and Director, a small business with a couple of Directors or the business has a Board of Non Executive Directors. Whatever situation in which we find ourselves the Board of Directors hold the ultimate responsibility of performance managing the CEO. What I find most interesting is just how many businesses have Non Executive Boards, yet h...ow silent some can be in this area. One business I worked for had a "word on the street" that was NO ONE was aloud to speak to the Board except for the #CEO. But how does a Non Executive Board know if their CEO is truly performing well without alternative sources of information? Many people say here that the board can see the performance from the financials in the #business; if the money is good, the people must be happy right? Well on the contrary the fabulous saying "Like eating soup with a fork" comes into play; The figures could be MUCH better. As business owners, not many people know the struggles that you have been through, and that tenacity that built you way back is damn well still there! Relying on Tourism? Don’t flog a dead horse Build another stream of income Think outside the box here; Challenge the stereotype of your industry!... Muster the force of your local marketing on social media. Australian’s want to help. Get involved in your local community and talk about how your business fits into it, and that you need their help. A simple like, share and comment can do wonders for any business. Connect to or build a business tribe where YOU can be YOU so you can open up about what you’re facing! If they can offer some advice, guidance or even a service for you, it can be a weight off your shoulders. Connect to build ideas, create a business collab or even a service for service to help one another out if you’re struggling. Look at your local council commerce departments for business groups, if they don’t have one tell them to! I know it’s tough, believe me I do, but you have GOT THIS; find your why again. #BusinessOwners #Inspiration

09.01.2022 To anybody who knows someone or personally is suffering from anxiety or depression during #covid today’s inspiration is for you: Get up and get moving. The sooner you get back into a routine the better! Don't sit in your ZOOM meeting in PJ bottoms - get dressed for work. Get up early, and instead of "sitting in the traffic" read a motivational book to get you ready for the day! Talk about it! Humanity has quite a stigma around talking about personal problems. But guess ...what there is NOTHING wrong with needing help. Open up to those closest to you and tell them what you're feeling and how you would appreciate their support. GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE! The media has given a lot of attention to Covid causing a lot of panic and fear of stepping outside. A walk in the fresh air can do you wonders. Commit to switching off your phone for a couple of hours and go for a walk. Listen to nature, breathe the fresh air, relax and reconnect with yourself. I want you ALL to remember, that if you find yourself on the ground and struggling to get up, do not fear, for that is where you should be.
