18.01.2022 July 24th is International Self Care Day!With the strange and stressful times we are living in, it’s more important then ever to find a little bit of time to self care for our mental and physical wellbeing. Personally(Ris), I’ve found that finding that time has been so pivotal in keeping my head above water. Busyness is always a factor of life but being proactive in the things that centre my mind, has been making the world of difference. For me, it’s things like going for a... walk in the fresh air (even if it’s just in the 20mins. of daylight that is left after work), a $5 face mask to give me that youthful glow (lolz), a margarita, takeaway from the Royal India Restobar or actually just taking flowers home. Anyway, just thought I’d encourage you today to think of a way to love yourself a little on Self Care Day! (Ps.It’s not selfish to love yourself, for those that need to hear that!)

It was definitely one with a difference (courtesy of Covid), limited stock made it interesting but we made it work the best we could. We are so sorry for those who weren’t able to secure a bouquet but the good news is, we are surrounded by awesome mums all year round so you can spoil her with florals every other day FLOWER TIP: with the cold weather, remember your flowers won’t love being blasted with a heater so try to keep them in a cooler spot

Covid has really affected floral availability this year so we have to be smart about it and make sure everyone is covered.IN SAYING THIS, we have a wait list incase we can re open orders so you can still call and get on it.I know it’s really disappointing when you miss out, I’m so sorry, we are trying our best and will keep you posted. 06.01.2022 Why the whiz are flower prices so high right now? Let’s talk about economics. Oh wait, I know you’d rather poke your eyes with a hot skewer. ... I’ll save you the academia stuff and cut right to the chase. In Australia, we are expediting a dramatic increase in wholesale prices like never-ever- experiences prices. Why? Well it’s a magical confluence of five things: 1 Limited imports. Our flower industry relies heavily on imported products. Due to COVID19-19, they’re not flooding in like they used to. 2 Increased transport costs. Remember, Australia is a really long way from everywhere. And with limited international flights happening, the cost of putting flowers on planes has increased. 3 Post bushfire fun times. Remember how just a few months ago this country was on fire? A lot of our favourite growers were severely impacted by that experience, meaning domestic supply is impacted. 4 Cold weather. The weather seemed to just change. Overnight. That cold snap that started right around Mother’s Day, it does impact the volume of product that growers can supply. 5 Increased demand. With social distancing requirements, more people are sending flowers in lieu of visiting their loved ones in person. Full credit to the wonderful and amazing little bird bloom #forflorists

03.01.2022 Merry Christmas Everyone!!! We have officially put the scissors down for 2020 to have a little break and will be back early January (will let you know the date soon, just depends if I decide I need just a little longer). Thank you SO MUCH for all your support during such a challenging year! It has been really tough but we are just so thankful that we have still been able to provide you with the prettiest flowers during the most difficult of times but also the lovely little celebrations that have happened along the way too. I just also want to say how thankful I am for my amazing team and my amazing friends (who are pretty much family), who have just given so much this year to The MeadowILY! Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses in all the busy and stress of life, it makes a difference, I promise! See you in the new year!!
