24.01.2022 This year for World Diabetes Day, I am aiming to cycle for 5 hours straight at Body Fit Training, Essendon. 280 Australians develop diabetes every day. Thats one person every five minutes. Sadly, my family and I lost our father in 2012 after a long battle with the disease. His journey not uncommon was excruciatingly painful with his health becoming a victim to many of the possible and common complexities with diabetes. There are 4,400 amputations every year as a res...ult of diabetes and there are many other health problems associated, such as preventable blindness and heart disease. Our family wish we were made aware of many things during this time, such as the important information and research that has only recently become available. Through this 5 hour cycle, I hope to not only raise $1000 for every hour, but awareness to the entire community of the depths of this disease.
