20.01.2022 I have just finished this A3 sized landscape on beautiful handmade paper. It has been created with rusting the paper to achieve the shapes and colours, then using coloured pencils to enhance those shapes. The birds are created with solvent transfer. 19.01.2022 Treat yourself to some inspirational learning. Shana is holding a Linocut printmaking retreat in March 2021 in Pemberton. I studied with Shana James at Fremantle Art Centre for a couple of years and her wonderful skills and delightful teaching style had me coming back term after term. When Christmas is done, kids are back at school, take some time out for yourself!

17.01.2022 Fabulous News! I have just been granted planning permission to open my 'Merry Press Studio' to visitors. This means that people can visit the Studio with an app...ointment right throughout the year, and that I can also hold art classes and workshops. Many thanks to the City of Albany for helping me through this process and paving the way for other artists and craftspeople to work effectively from home and welcome the public in. Their online promotion for members will run till the end of the year and is a wonderful support for so many regional artists who were not able to exhibit in the Southern Art and Craft trail due to COVID-19. 07.01.2022 Here’s another page from my handmade book that will be in theYork Botanic Art Prize. The book will feature the endangered Banksia Montana. This is a linocut on rusted paper on the inside with a solvent transfer of a photo of the burnt image of the banksia. My husband to the rescue when I wanted to burn the edges of the paper... he handed me his soldering iron! 02.01.2022 My 6 week Essentials of Drawing classes finished up this week and I couldn’t be more proud of my 18 students! We covered perspective, still life, composition, line drawing, portraits and the human body. It was whirlwind indeed and the general consensus was that learning the underpinning skills to drawing was a a wonderful foundation for the future. Vicki-Anne Smith, Lisa and Jodi made this their third course with me, and I just love their continuing passion for learning. Well done everyone on rising to to some big challenges and still smiling at the end of every class. Your personal progress was amazing, and I look forward to working with you again in future classes.

02.01.2022 Now mounted and framed, Searching for Blue is part of my theme for this year of endangered species and bushfire. This is a mixed media piece with rusted handmade paper, coloured pencil and solvent transfer. One of those artworks that ‘found its own’ creation. I had very little control over the rusting process then just waited till the paper revealed its final purpose to me. I’ve had these printed on a beautiful art paper and coupled with craft envelopes in cello bags.
