03.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS The band is back together again (well, part of it!) **TMO STRING OCTET** It is with pleasure and great excitement we announce our first step back onto the concert stage. Join our principal string players TMO for an afternoon of glorious music at the Leichhardt Town Hall. This exclusive special event will have a maximum of only 50 audience members in a premium, socially distanced concert. The performance will be followed by a chance to chat (from a physical ...distance of at least 1.5 metres) with the musicians while enjoying a complimentary drink and nibbles, all included in your ticket price. 02.01.2022 Wondering what our musicians are up to whilst we are missing from the stage? For the past two months, TMO Principal flute (who is also a Leading Seaman Musician) Svetlana Yaroslavskaya has been busy as part of Operation Covid19 Assist working at Sydney International Airport assisting to help Defence Members transfers to their quarantine hotel in Sydney. I have prior experience working with both ADF and Police. As musicians, we are used to collaborating with other teams. T...his operation has been another opportunity to seamlessly integrate and learn more about our respective services. It feels immensely satisfying to be assisting Government and playing an active part in stopping the spread of the virus said LSMUSN Yaroslavskaya. 01.01.2022 The Metropolitan Orchestra 2020 Fundraising Campaign. Many of you will be aware of the devastating effects the Coronavirus Pandemic has had on the arts community. This includes TMO who having cancelled the majority of our 2020 season with potentially more cancellations to come has experienced significant financial hardship as a direct result of lost ticket sales and sponsorship income. Our 2020 fundraiser is now live. This year your donated funds will be used to help us desi...gn a sustainable 2021 concert season which will include a range of new initiatives plus exciting programming. Any funds we receive will go a long way to helping us get 2021 off the ground as we rise from the ashes of COVID-19. Of course all donations are tax-deductible.
