18.01.2022 When you lose faith in yourself, your decisions, your judgement etc. You can find it tricky to make decisions. Even seemingly important or so called "no brainer" choices that should or used to come easy for you. Self identity and self sabotage have some connection in this instance then, I believe, as there is a component of not trusting your own choices and decision making. Especially when you have gone through experiences where you were hurt, blindsided, taken advantage of ...or worse. In order to step back into your true self you must reconnect with your own inner trust and judgement also. Life will give you many chances to not only trust that you'll make the right choices for yourself, but that you will also be able to stand your ground, set healthy boundaries, honestly say no when you mean it and do it all from a space of integrity, whilst honouring your true innate nature. 17.01.2022 Q&A answer on how to handle a job/working situation that feels soul crushing. Work identity in itself is such a massive topic and you can place a lot of your worth and value on what you do, don't do, your title, your ambition etc. So. Much. Pressure! But, firstly I want to remind you that YOU ARE NOT YOUR JOB. It isn't WHO you are, it's not the essence and core of you, it's something you DO.... Secondly, I want to point out that wherever you are right now is not forever. This is a chapter in your life, it's not your entire story. So here are a few other things to contemplate: 1. I feel that everything in life happens for a purpose. Perhaps this current job is for you to learn something or meet someone you otherwise may not have. 2. The fact this grates you allows you to become curious. Knowing what you don't want actually helps you to discover what you do really want. Allowing you to further your relationship with yourself and where your direction in life is going. 3. Awareness is key, being aware of how this job makes you feel gives you opportunity. It's a chance to feel the misalignment and the saying goes "you have to feel what you need to heal". So feel it, and let it help drive you towards something that speaks more true for you. 4. Once you have clarity on 3. then you can take action towards something you do want. (Thus preventing you from becoming someone who year after year stays in something that makes them truly miserable.) 5. Forget anyone else's opinion. What you do for work/income/career doesn't actually make up your personality and therefore any judgements on you only actually reflect them and not you. If you're judging yourself, once again opportunity to reflect on how you speak to yourself. 6. I'll say it again...YOU ARE NOT YOUR JOB. I can't stress that point enough. So much of your identity can be put into what you do, but I don't believe human beings are placed on this earth just to work, there is so much more to life than just that. 17.01.2022 Continuing on with meeting some of my tribe... I love that I rarely have to look further than to the people I've got in my own little hemisphere for wisdom and inspiration. We all need a team, an entourage of people who we look to for all types of help, friendship and support - both personally and professionally. Johannes and I met almost 2 years ago at a social event...you remember back when we could do more of those things. ... I didn't know back then that Johannes would be such a pivotal person with my own inner journey. Johannes is known as the breathwork and cold therapy guy, but there is so much more to it than that. For me it goes hand in hand with all I've done professionally and for my own personal development over the course of my career and life learning thus far. Johannes is an important part of my team! 06.01.2022 To honour the Q & A's coming in I'll be doing clips and blog posts as well. I feel boundaries are quite often ways to help express to others how you like to be loved, communicated with, supported, cared for etc. Yet I feel 'boundaries' has such a negative wrap most of the time. My "beef" with it, so to speak, is that there are soooooooo many commenting on this subject matter as if people are intentionally going out of their way to hurt, harm and cross boundaries. I truly d...on't believe that is the case! Most people have so much going on in their world they aren't even aware if they have crossed a line or upset you in some way. A piece of uncovering and living your authentic self is establishing your set of values and codes of conduct so YOU firstly know where your own boundaries lie. THEN, the beauty of knowing this is that you can have wonderful communication with those in your life that will strengthen bonds and understanding of expectations and standards. It's actually a way to become closer to people, not further. You also get to establish and hold in your "no". A tricky word for many people to use, especially when potentially letting others down. I feel there is a 'sweet spot' where you can honour your true inner nature as a person and still draw a line in the sand of where you're comfortable or willing to go, give, do etc. I also feel somtimes until we have our so called "boundaries" pushed we didn't even know we had or needed a certain boundary. Therefore that's a great life lesson to learn! Finally, you are only ever an honest, open, loving conversation away from re-establishing any boundaries with anyone in your life. Nothing is set in stone, you can articulate yourself and your needs in a kind way to change anything required. Funnily enough it will probably bring you closer together. 02.01.2022 Life is happening right now, this is it! There is no "right time" for anything. Everything in life happens to us at the perfect time, otherwise things would have happened differently, at a different time! Are you giving yourself permission to live the life you want, being your true self, or are you just planning for it?... Now, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with planning, far from it. Planning, goals, creating etc. is a fundamental aspect of living your authentic self and the ideal life you desire. BUT!!!... There is a point where you can be constantly working to get to this magical place of "being ready". Being ready to be your true self, to start that relationship, to have that career etc. But.... This is it. Life is happening right now. Don't keep putting it off. Please. Remember each day is a blessing. We are here to live, not just to plan to live "one day". Please embrace today, embrace yourself, embrace those around you and feel the gratitude for what you have NOW as well as where you want to go. 01.01.2022 As adults we still need nurturing both from self and from others. I want to point out there seems to be a bad wrap about needing others for love, connection, support, nurturing, and care. I'm calling bullshit on that being a bad thing!... We as human beings need each other, we are tribal creatures, we were not designed to live our lives solely on our own. Yes, when you become too dependent on others, that's a problem. But it's also equally a problem when you become so independent you don't need anyone either. I believe both extreme ends of the spectrum are protection mechanisms. I'm not saying that's a bad thing either. It's definitely something to be curious about and explore within yourself if either of those feel true for you right now though. Besides needing a balance of self care as well as allowing others to care for you, there is that inner child aspect to connect to here as well. Your little self lives on within you with all that you do. They too need comfort, love, care and nurturing. How do you nurture both your adult self and your inner child? I know for me when I was at my lowest, only a few years ago, I legitimately thought nobody would even notice if I wasn't here anymore.
