24.01.2022 A faster relief from pain: Robotic hysterectomy.

24.01.2022 Dr Amy Tang performed two surgeries with the latest da Vinci Xi robot at the Greenslopes Private Hospital last week. She has been using this most advanced next-generation robot to help perform minimally invasive procedures. She has been able to perform minimally invasive procedures for many conditions that previously would have required more traditional open and laparoscopic surgeries. Robotic surgeries require smaller incisions than traditional surgery, so there is less tis...sue dissection and less trauma to the body, as well as decreased blood loss. Patients have reduced swelling, which allows them to return to daily activities faster and with less pain. The good news is Greenslopes Private Hospital has recently waived the unclaimable $1000 ‘High-tech’ fee for robotic surgeries, which means the cost of having a traditional laparoscopic surgery and a robotic laparoscopic surgery would be the same! Dr Tang is one of the few Gynecologists who perform robotic surgeries in Queensland. Her next available list at the Greenslopes Private Hospital is in December 2020 due to popularity.

08.01.2022 We had a lovely staff Pre-Christmas Party at #MadameWu last Friday. 2020 has been such a rough year for everyone because of Covid-19, but we have all done such a great job. We appreciate the love and support from our patients, colleagues, friends and family and we know we will get through this together!

07.01.2022 Dr Amy Tang operating the state of the art da Vinci Xi robot system during a Robotic Assisted Total Hysterectomy. The da Vinci surgical system uses robot-assist technology to perform complicated surgical procedures through a small incision. The system is operated by the surgeon through a console which controls the robot arm. After a small surgical incision is made, the surgeon inserts long, delicate instruments into area to be operated on. The tools include an endoscopic ca...mera with magnification, lighting and temperature control on a control arm which allows the surgeon to see inside of the body. The camera along with other instruments such as a scalpel are manipulated through small hand movements on the control panel. Because the surgery is being performed through a small incision rather than a large, open wound, there is much less bleeding and trauma than traditional surgery procedures. When compared to open surgery, da Vinci robotic surgery leaves a much smaller scar, may reduce the risk of infection through exposure to air, hands and surgical devices like suction and sponges and may reduce the overall recovery time after surgery.

05.01.2022 I know it's hard, but you have to and you can do it, for people you love and for yourself!
