24.01.2022 Tomorrow is RUOK? Day. This year, RUOK's focus is on "There's more to say after R U OK?". "2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. In the lead-up to R U OK?Day we’ll help Australians know what to say when someone says they’re not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life." ... RUOK Day has some amazing resources readily available to download on their website to help educate and assist those who might be struggling. 24.01.2022 On the 15th of November, 2019 we moved into 189 Latrobe Terrace in Paddington, into what is now The Mindful Collective Studio. This was a massive dream of mine - and the next (big) step. Finding the perfect space took time, many inspections and lots of decision making about what were the most important things for us to have in our studio (and yes, one of those things was a portrait of Evie by the incredible @mosessa ). The dream was to have a space that was multi-disciplin...ary, accessible, beautiful and light. But the dream, more than anything else, was to find our little place in the world - a home. One year, a group of wonderful businesses, more team members, the best housewarming we could ever have asked for, workshops, and more. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey for the last twelve months (and a big shout out to the OG's @bodyandbirthphysio and @pivotosteo - thank you for being a part of our journey at the studio from the start). To all of the other businesses who have jumped on board, our clients, and our community - thank you for helping us make our little house, a home. We can't wait to see what the next few years will bring @tayla.lauren / @belinda_dorman

24.01.2022 We know that that 2020 was not as straightforward as we had hoped, but THRIVE is all about starting fresh and making the most of our new year, 2021! Get your tickets to THRIVE below, and join us in a exciting day filled with planning, activities and future thoughts

21.01.2022 Let's talk a little about 'manageable self-care'. Self-care can be anything that helps us - literally anything! From what seem like little things such as brushing your hair, to bigger commitments like setting goals or spending time with people or yourself. Everyone responds to different types of self-care as well, so maybe your preferred method of self care isn't on our little bingo, and that's okay! ... Trying to hit 'bingo!' all at once can definitely be overwhelming; make sure to be kind to yourself and remember that these things can take time...and maybe giving yourself time is part of your self-care?

21.01.2022 Just the Queen, doin Queen stuff. Like bossing Tim around and being the cutest thing in the room...in front of a painting of herself doing the same thing

20.01.2022 We just want to take a moment to appreciate the two powerhouses that help make our workshops possible! Maggie and Alana came on board with TMC as UQ Prac Students last year and have stayed on with us as our Therapy Assistants and workshop legends. Alongside Amy Kate, all of the background work and organisation for all of our events is handled by these two amazing ladies - we truly couldn't do this without them!

19.01.2022 First of all - we are so excited to officially announce the arrival of our newest, incredible member of TMC - @by.ashleigh Ashleigh will be joining us as a student counsellor until mid 2021 - how good! From the beginning of September, you can book in to see Ash on Mondays, and Saturdays, with sessions at a special Student Counsellor rate of $45/session. Here's a little bit more about the radiant Ash ... "I'm Ashleigh Hopping, a student counsellor completing my final year of Masters at Monash University. My goal is to provide 1:1 support to people who want to build more joy and self-compassion into their lives, while also helping them to gently let go of things that are no longer value aligning. I also work as a writer and designer and live locally with my fiance, cat, and puppy." Give our Admin team a call on 0451 060 764 or email us at [email protected] to book in, or ask us about all things Ash! @stepha_doyle See more

14.01.2022 In the lead-up to Blooming in Business, we have been deep diving into research and statistics, and one of the most impactful statistics we found was through ABC News' article entitled "Dyson Heydon sexual harassment allegations: Is this the start of the law's 'Me Too' moment?" written by Hayley Gleeson. "Gender discrimination, of course, is often singled out as a particular obstacle:" Hayley writes, "though women comprise roughly 60 per cent of law graduates, in New South... Wales they make up just 25 per cent of law firm partners and 11 per cent of senior counsel." In this article, Hayley brings up some incredibly thought provoking statistics from a range of surveys. Of course, and most dishearteningly, statistics like these aren't specific to Law and spread consistently across many different professions. Elly Smith from @kindmindco_ will be talking all things Gender Bias in the Workplace during our Blooming in Business workshop in October - and we simply can't wait. There's an insane amount of research out there, and the perspective of an organisational psychologist is so insightful! Is there something thought provoking you have read recently, or a must-read book you think we should get our hands on? Share it below! See more

07.01.2022 As you may have seen, we have had some very exciting announcements from Medicare in regards to not only rebated Telehealth sessions, but the increase of sessions on Mental Health Care Plans. This is massive news for our wonderful clients. There's so much information out there, so we thought we would simplify things a little. The Important Questions:... When Does This Change Start? As of the 9th of October, an extra 10 sessions per calendar year are accessible to those who have a Mental Health Care Plan, or are wanting to access one through their GP. How Do I Access These Extra Sessions? From the information released by Medicare, patients will be able to access the extra sessions after they have completed their first ten for the year. Here's how the process will work: - Initial MHCP - 6 Sessions with Amy Kate - GP Review - Subsequent MHCP Review - 4 Sessions with Amy Kate - GP Review - Subsequent MHCP Review - 10 Sessions with Amy Kate When Do I Need to Go Back To The GP? This will depend on how many sessions you have used thus far, and where you are up to in your MHCP. Please contact our Admin team if you are unsure of how many sessions you have remaining. Do I Have To Use All Extra Sessions This Year? With the extra MHCP sessions, patients will be able to access a maximum of 20 Medicare sessions per calendar year. Mental Health Care Plans can transfer onto the following year, so it's not required to use all 20 in 2020, it is just the maximum amount that are able to be claimed. Can I Do These Extra Sessions Via Telehealth? Yes, until the cut off for Telehealth sessions (as determined by Medicare), MHCP sessions can be performed via Telehealth. Please let us know in advance if you wish to do your session online. If you are a current client, and are unsure of how many sessions you have used in your current MHCP, please send us an email at [email protected] and we will update you with any information that is necessary with these new changes. 04.01.2022 THRIVE is now only days away! With a few spaces left (both in person and online!) we thought we would show you some of the incredible people that are involved in our two day workshop. Movement and exercise is an important part of self-care, and we love including it in our courses as much as we can! It's so exciting to have @gracetealeyoga and @mt_ptadelaide as a part of our two day THRIVE Mid Year Check In. We want to rave about them a lot:... Grace Teale is a Yoga Coach based in Brisbane (she offers one on one Zoom classes, as well as free online content on Youtube - how cool?!). She helps women get their bodies (& minds) flexible and relaxed, through Yoga! Mariah Torress is an Adelaide based personal trainer (and exercise physiologist in the making!). Although we would love to have her closer to us, she also offers one on one training and group fitness programs in beautiful Adelaide. What's your favourite type of physical self care? There are so many! We can't wait to see you this weekend for THRIVE Mid Year Check In!
