24.01.2022 If you need anything, let me know, they said. But the words wouldn’t come. I choked on them instead. A slow death.... I wanted to say: Can you pop in at bath time twice a week to give me a hand? Maybe you could take them to the park on occasion so I could vacuum without the everlasting spread of crackers and requests challenging my progress. I’d love some company for a babycino once a month. I want to listen to your work stories and ideally, you would not care if I had chocolate powder in my hair. I guess you could call me to see how I was? But not in a way that seems condescending. Ask me like you are willing to listen to the answer. Ask me because you know the answer already. You’re around so much that you know the cues. I know that by Friday I’m pretty tired. Dinner dropped at the door would be fab. I’d love for you to sit in my garden while my children run naked on the lawn. I could grab the washing off and we could talk. Ideally, you wouldn’t think of it as odd if they did a wee on the grass. We could cook for you. You’d be family. And you’d wash the dishes without hesitation, a team rather than a guest. We’d work together effortlessly. You’d know the bedtime routine, you’d tell the story. You would sit on the balcony whilst I feed and love them to sleep. You wouldn’t care how long that took. We have a nice view. You know where the kettle is. I want you to be super excited about their first tooth. I wish you would ask how feeding is going, even though they are nearly three. I would like the conversation to include my two kids. If one starts to talk about the day we had our cat put down, again, I don’t want that to be weird. I want to watch a kids movie with you at two in the afternoon. Would that be too much to ask? But it is. And so I say nothing. Thanks, I’ll definitely let you know, I say. In the same way that we always do. In the same way that means we never will.

21.01.2022 Absolutely some wise words from Jess! My healing journey led me to this business and supporting other women in their journey through Motherhood

20.01.2022 Hi lovely ladies, The best way others can hear about resources and support is through word of mouth - I would really appreciate if you enjoy our page and podcast if you could please share with anyone who would benefit from being part of our community. I would also really appreciate if you could leave a review or recommendation on Itunes/ Apple or on my Facebook page so others can see positive reviews from other mums ... If you need help finding the pages shout out (I'll admit I'm not the best with Apple) but I'll try my best. I started this podcast to support myself in my upcoming birth, as well as other women just like me. It's exactly why I started my business - it grew from passion of wanting to support and love others in a way I wished to be loved and supported. I am on a birth high now and never been so happy in postpartum before. I feel really supported, nurtured and loved and I would love to share how I created this for myself after two really shocking postpartum. I believe anyone can create an amazingly supported postpartum for themselves and now after living it I know it's so possible! I have a postpartum plan that is free that you can download off my website www.themotherhoodcircle.com.au (it's on the homepage) and I would encourage you to start planning for the fourth trimester! Let me know if you have any questions, Ashley xx #postpartum #vbac #vbachomebirth #homebirth #homebirthaustralia #positivebirth

19.01.2022 I had my Mother Blessing today with a handful of dear friends to celebrate my transition to growing into a mother of three little ones. My beautiful friend Falcon Spirit Healing hosted for me and went on a shamanic journey for me last night to help clear out past traumas in my spiritual levels (highly recommend for anyone wanting to heal from trauma). We talked birth, womanhood and my friends filled up my basket by creating a birth affirmations bunting and birth candle wi...th special messages of health and love for the sacred day. I will share some more pics of the bunting and candle later when I have my birth space set up. I had a wonderful massage and foot soak with each mama got a beautiful mix of salts and herbs with essential oils One of my loving girlfriends owns a pregnancy/ birth business Birthplace and made & gifted me an affirmations bunting, positive affirmation pillow case and a gorgeous red throw (that is soft as silk). * Feeling Blessed * Feeling all loved up and looking forward to birthing our baby Starlight

19.01.2022 My Postpartum Doula Natalie was our angel today and cooked up a storm for our family. . Not only is Nat and amazing, kind and caring women who just makes me feel safe and comforted she is a dear friend of mine....so when it came time for me to find a ppdoula she was an obvious choice. . Natalie cooked up a storm today of chicken spaghetti bake and chicken corn soup (with Miss 3 loved btw!).... . She then did all our dishes and cleaned from the cooking, then folded the washing and put it away and THEN gave me an amazing head, shoulder and back massage....all in our 3.5 hour postpartum visit. . How do I feel? Amazing....calm, connected & confident. Ready to take on the week knowing we have some more meals in the freezer ready to go. . Relaxed from the massage and friendly conversation and being able to rest another day while being nurtured and cared for. . Miss Annie 3 also enjoyed the company and being involved with the cooking (Natalie is also amazing with kids!). . Nat is coming back this Thursday for some more cooking and washing/ sorting out my older kids clothes and organising while I dnt have the brain space to worry. . Do you have postpartum support organised? If not why not? What is holding you back? . If you want to connect with Natalie let me know and I will send you her deets - she supports women from Brisbane - Gold Coast . . . . #postpartumsupport #themotherhoodcircle #newmum #mumsofbrisbane #brisbanemums #postpartumcare #postpartum #postpartumdoula #postnataldoula See more

17.01.2022 Hey ladies! I freebirthed my 10 pound baby at home after two csections and a special scar last month. I am plus size, birth big babies, have a special scar and gd - otherwise very healthy and capable of birthing a baby vaginally. ... I have heard ALL the fears and been told all the reasons why I couldn't birth vaginally by Drs previously so knowing for me it was safer to have a vaginal birth I opted for a safer homebirth. Birth has risks....life is full of risk. Only you can decide what risks are okay for you and your baby as you have to live with them. Being "higher risk" or something doesn't mean it wont happen...and being low risk doesnt mean it won't happen either. It's calculated on average statistically but that doesn't make it true for you. Believe in yourself, listen to your intuition, do what you feel is safest, put in boundaries, find a care provider you trust and dnt allow anyone to fill ur head with negative vibes If I can birth a 10 pound baby at home with no tears maybe its time to rethink what YOU can do!!

16.01.2022 Want to breastfeed but having some difficulties getting started? Breastfeeding can be very challenging for new mums. Having the love and support of your partner, family and friends to breastfeed truly makes all the difference! In addition to surrounding yourself with a great support network (family, friends and community groups) it’s also important for you to take time to care for yourself. Drink plenty of water, eat nourishing foods and get good rest. ... This will all help your body produce the milk your baby needs and help you feel rested and more confident in your breastfeeding goals. If you’re having trouble breastfeeding, there’s some wonderful help out there! Don’t give up on your dream to breastfeed your baby and parent your way! https://themotherhoodcircle.com.au/finding-lactation-consu/

15.01.2022 OUR BEST POSTPARTUM YET After two unsupported postpartums and feeling lonely, isolated and also dealing with sleep deprivation, birth trauma I not only planned for a positive birth this time but a calm, peaceful and supported postpartum. I can honestly say that this is the best postpartum I could have hoped for, full of support and love from my family, friends and paid support. ... When I've shared my joy into my current due date pregnancy group I've noticed that I've been met with some scepticism by some of the other pregnant and new mums - one mum even scolding me and saying "that's great for you - not all of us are so lucky to have family support and money to pay for a cleaner/ postpartum doula". It was an easy judgement and mistake for that mother to make, but I explained to her that this wasn't luck or by some fortune. I can tell you now I didn't have family and friends begging to support me throughout my other pregnancies and postpartum. No I was left alone, crying and sad a lot of the time, wondering why the fuck no one cared about me. And it wasn't that they didn't care - it's that our society let's new mothers down and expects new mothers to thrive alone, without support and magically be able to bring up a child alone in a world of surviving. I don't believe in living a life of survival. I know it's what the generations before us were told to do - and it's often the line I've been fed. I believe women and families deserve more which is why I'm passionate about sharing my secrets with you on how I went from pretty shitty postpartum to now being really supported... And it isn't without dedication, time, planning and a bit of hard work. But like anything that takes time it is well worth the effort and thought. So I will share my secrets with you and to get you started (because I'm a wee bit busy here enjoying my new life as a mum of three) I've included my free postpartum plan for you to download and get you started. Head to the homepage on my website to get urs now www.themotherhoodcircle.com.au P.S - the mama did apologise after I explained it was 3 years in the making and a lot of effort and financial sacrifice to make it happen was a happy ending

11.01.2022 Its ok if you don't love every single moment of being a mother! Its ok to love your kids and still struggle. Its ok to love being a mother - and still have days... you just feel touched out and 'Done'. Its ok to not love every moment. But what can you do to support yourself? -Keep hydrated! -Use magnesium -Talk to a homeopath about homeopathic support ;) -Surround yourself with a village -Be open about your struggles. 06.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! . This is how I spent the last day of the year with my three girls and hubby (who was out of the pool taking the pic!). . After playing with the girls I told them mama needed some downtime and I laid on my back and floated around the pool looking up at the sky and the palm trees above.... . It felt like I was in paradise and I am. I reflected on things I am gratful for and thought about what brought me peace & joy. . This year I am focusing on 3 things that will bring me peace & joy 1) Health 2) Wealth 3) Peace . I have decided to focus on getting physically fit, getting our finances in order and things that bring me peace. . I am also learning how to sew this year (picked up my borrowed sewing machine yesterday!!) And writing a book!! Soooo stay tuned . What is your word for the year? See more

06.01.2022 8 Weeks Young . Our little girl is growing so fast and it has been such a wonderful experience filled with so much love & joy. . I got to use my own milestone cards with Millie which is even more special too.... . She has been smiling for a few weeks now and the last three nights sleeping through the night from about 8pm to 4am . As a third time mama who radically birthed her baby into this world at home and made my own choices outside of the system I feel so calm, confident and powerful. . I still often think fuck, I birthed her out of my vajaja! amazing what women can do given the right space and environment. . I am thankful to myself that I was brave enough to take that plunge and birth on my terms and have that experience. . I often think about how I would be feeling now if I had birthed in the system and I feel like I escaped a world of hurt and pain. . If you are wondering if you should follow your intuiton I say listen to that voice See more

05.01.2022 Sleep when your baby sleeps I know this one is a bit of a heated topic... but seriously if you don't have older children you need to be awake for - sleep when your baby is sleeping!! Those chores can and will wait.... set lower expectations and make life as simple as you can!... * Hire a cleaner * Hire a Postpartum Doula * Ask friends and family for support to tidy, bring round meals, how your baby while you sleep, emotional support * Instead of folding your washing create different baskets and leave the clothes in each basket like Dads, Mums and Babies and if you get time fold them and pop them away (but seriously this works!) * Organise food delivery services * Shop online! #postpartum #postpartumsupport #sleep #newborn #newmum

05.01.2022 Absolutely! Over the years my husband and I have found many differences in how we are both treated when going out solo with our girls. Hubby gets lots of positive words from the little old grannies in the shops about how much of a great dad he is for taking the kids out in public without me And when I go out I get sweet fuck all positive words and watch out if they make a peep those daggers will be coming straight for me. ... The best thing is that my hubby is aware of the bias in our society and while he is constantly td he is amazing for being a parent he also understand that is grossly sad for our society and totally double standards. But we totally get it...back in the day Dad's often were not involved, didn't change nappies or share in many parenting roles. Fortunately for me my father did play a major role in parenting, especially in the years I can remember...including being one of the only parents at the beach playing with his kids...so we used to get lots of kids flocking to us to join in the fun.... Dad pointed out back then how sad it was that the other Dads didn't play with the kids.... and I always had higher expectations then the average member of society because of that. Anyways. If u are not being told as a mother u are doing a great job...coz lets face it often mums dnt get positive words....I want you to know u are...and remember to tell urself that daily... Look in the mirror and look deep into your eyes and say it out loud! Ashley x

03.01.2022 It's 1 am and I am hoping I can get some sleep tonight! I am really struggling to sleep at nights with a combo of heartburn and needing to pee 100 times plus wanting to google pretty much everything for some reason So I found some memes to share in some of the fun I am having lately. ... 33 weeks

01.01.2022 I always say take the easiest and most simple route. Sometimes it takes someone to point out a simple adjustment that can be made. My triggers are not getting enough sleep (I need a min of 7 hrs to be sane..which isnt always possible with a baby but I do strive to get that in a 24 hr pwriod). Being hungry gets me so making sure I have nourishing easy snacks or meals so I dnt turn into a raging nutta and heat....I like to keep cool....so aircon, frozen tea towels, ice buckets... for my feet...so I dnt turn into the hulk hah.... What are some ways u can feel more calm and at peace? What r your triggers?
