We know, haaaalf an hour eaaarlier..but guess what? you can do it! Building a habit takes practice but think of the extra bonus life you’ll get by finishing at 6am! 23.01.2022 These two men are the epitome of our highest value : community. Phil, on the left spends his days volunteering in every situation possible. Yesterday I’m sure he was at the front of the search for little James. I spoke to him recently and asked if he ever said no when someone asks him for help..he said no, but I go do it. It’s who I am and I love it. He ALWAYS asks how you are and waits for an answer. The heart and soul of our Dunsborough Community. And Neil on the right ha...s spent ALL Friday and Saturday helping Cal and Ed on the renovations in the gym. Without even getting asked..he was there. Always supportive, always encouraging and always inclusive. One of the first to offer a coffee or notice if someone is feeling down. We are so grateful to know the both of you and have you at The Movement. @ac.personaltraining

20.01.2022 When it comes to Personal Training I don’t believe it’s a one size (program/coach) fits all. I have a completely different approach with every single client of ...mine. Everyone learns differently..some people don’t respond to hard pushing and strict rules. Some people love the hard push and need rules to stay accountable. I’ve been working with Mish since 2017. I know what works with her..I even had to let her go for a bit! Mish has had a hard time it’s broken me at times that I couldn’t be more help..through some of the hard times Mish’s answer was drugs and alcohol. She didn’t want it to be but it was a habit she couldn’t kick. When Mish came back to training in November I put a rule in place - miss two sessions in row and I won’t train you anymore. This rule along with seeing a drug and alcohol counsellor has resulted in Mish starting to kick that daaaaam habit!!! It makes me so happy to say since November Mish hasn’t cancelled on me more than twice and thanks to a very good cause she is now 3 weeks without alcohol! Yes - a long way to go and there maybe set backs but Mish has found clarity, self love and joy. Mish is currently raising money for Breast Cancer and I’ll love for you to support her if you can - https://fundraise.nbcf.org.au/fundraisers/michellewundenberg Before Mish started she wrote: I am laying here at 4:30am after ANOTHER night of heavy drinking, wondering why do I keep doing this to myself?! I've even been seeing a drug and alcohol counsellor to work on kicking my alcohol addiction. It was advised by them that I abstain from alcohol for a period of time to be able to reset my brain and form new habits. So this isn't just to raise money for breast cancer, which is still something that hits close to home, it is about me being a better and healthier person for me and my family. So yes I’m raising funds for more research, but at the moment I need to make a change or I could lose more than I care to think about. - Then today: 21 days alcohol free and no intention to stop here. Alcohol is a carcinogen and I drank anyway to numb my pain. My mum passed from leukaemia and battled breast cancer twice. Her deadly addiction was sugar - also a carcinogen. I'am not here to preach. Alcohol is part of a lot of people's lives and I get it. But for me it is super toxic. My mental and physical health aren't worth the side effects of drinking alcohol. This is not a new years resolution for me. It is a new life! I am beyond proud.



20.01.2022 Being a parent is the most rewarding, loved up thing in the world. But it’s hard. Exercising is harder to get done, going to the beach is harder, getting the f...ood shop done is harder, working is harder, owning a business is harder, running that business is harder. Exercising and working = harder. Let’s talk about exercising and working as a parent. Now, I’m no expert I only have one! Some of our members have 3,4 children. How they do it impresses me ALOT. Time constraints, lack of sleep and selflessness are all perfectly valid excuses for not exercising with a child, however I recently wrote out some tips for one of my clients to help her get her head around exercising and running her business. Scheduling is KEY. Planning things out in your calendar gives you a realistic expectation of your day. Sharing that calendar with your partner also helps. It lets you and others know when you’ll be working, exercising and spending time with your kids. Don’t copy other peoples schedule, you need to create one that works for you. Cal and I have found that by scheduling our days together we hold each other accountable and are in clear communication of what each other needs from the day. Know what to sacrifice -- and what’s non-negotiable. Want to be home every night to put your babe to bed. Then make it non-negotiable that you need to leave work on time. Know that you have a better week when you exercise on Monday? Make it non-negotiable that you get to that class. Ask her help if you need it* more on asking for help . Build your village Is this a cliche? Absolutely. But there’s a reason cliche’s are repeated so often. It actually does take a number of people to assist you with your parental and business obligations. Asking for help can be (and was for me) one of the hardest things to do as a parent. But more often then not, close family and friends are happy to help you out. Your village includes the creche at the gym where you go! Some our little peeps come to our Creche 5 days a week. Does that make their parents selfish? ABSOLUTELY not. These kids get so much stimulation from playing with each other and learning from our wonderful creche ladies. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that by going in the creche it’s beneficial for their social skills. Win for the parent and win for the child! Other parents are also great help! Return the favour! Ask a friend to have your child and then return the favour and have theirs. We really are all in this together. Know that by taking the time out you can actually be a better parent. Making time to workout and take care of yourself makes you a better person and a better parent. I really believe this. You spend a little time on yourself and come back to your children and responsibilities more clearheaded, focused, and patient. Sometimes we sugar coat things for our ego, however being a parent can be hard. That independence we had for so long is gone at a click of a finger. We get that. Whatever it is you LOVE to do, whatever it is that makes you HAPPY - dancing, exercising or surfing. Make it work. Do it for you! Rae Marie Lifestyle

20.01.2022 COMMUNITY ~ One of the 6 Movement values I’ve recently taken on the Wednesday MOVE LEAN class and I am absolutely stoked to be coaching this format!... This morning’s class had 7 fit, strong, AMAZING women in it and I watched them all support and encourage each other during class. During the programmed rest this lady here spent her time pushing the others on the erg’s and told them you’ve got this, come on hold on until the end. She didn’t know some of the others in the class but that didn’t stop her from making everyone feel welcome I feel so blessed to be surround by such an amazing community and encouraging supportive women, all I ever see is the members/coaches building each other up. Endless love and support is what holds the walls @themovementsouthwest up

17.01.2022 Congratulations to @capepress_pt who has recently taken on the role of programmer of our Move Fast program. Kobie has excelled as a programmer in the 4 and a bit years she’s been with us. The first coach we took on, Kobes has showed growth in her education constantly studying and watching her grow as a Personal Trainer has been nothing short of inspiring. Kobie has shown us she’s committed to improving the lives of our members and her clients and we love the loyalty she shows... our brand and her own. Kobie has forever programmed her Monday class but as of the 1st November I handed over the reigns of Move Fast program to her. We are excited to see how she grows the program that has already grown so much from our HIIT days to what it is today! We do not outsource ANY of our programming. @caldfoster programs our Move Lean Program, @edhamiltonpt programs our Move Strong. @lift_downsouth and @katierobynmorgan share the role of Move Low Impact while @ac.personaltraining and I take on the Weekend classes! What a team!! Our programming is something we are very proud of!

16.01.2022 Exercise is the practice of resisting the urge to give up. By pushing through that urge you are not only getting fitter but you are showing yourself that you can get through the other challenges that come your way throughout the day. Going to your session is so much more than a sweat sesh. It’s showing yourself that you are committed to yourself and it’s boosting your confidence to take on the day. If you can resist the urge to give up and complete the workout you can resist ...the donuts you don’t actually want at work. You can resist opening the bottle of wine at the end of the day if you’re trying to limit your alcohol intake and you can resist overeating or binging if a stressful situation comes your way. 15.01.2022 Frequently Asked Question. Q. Do you need to be a member to have Personal Training? A. Absolutely not, but you can if you want! You see we have two sides to The Movement. One is a membership - you can have unlimited classes and use of the open gym to come and do extra sessions on your own!... The other is Personal Training. Half the people that come into The Movement on the daily have never done a class and aren’t on membership! They work with one of our Personal Trainers one on one or in small groups to work towards their individual goals! Then we have the option to do BOTH! We have 19 different membership types!! We believe in giving you OPTIONS as different things work for different people. One of those options is our BASE+PT option that allows you to have a full membership plus one personal training session per week. Members use this session to work on specific skills, injury rehab or just for that extra sesh that’s all about them! Some do BASE+PT30 mins and others 45 mins! If you want to chat about those options DM me and we can talk through them!

14.01.2022 The mornings are getting lighter earlier, the suns staying a little longer and it’s getting us very excited about the warm summer coming! What is really means for our members is more running because you can see , more sweat sessions in the shed , more beach sessions and dips in the ocean after class !!! And of course welcoming back all of our favs that come and visit us every year! Will you be spending your summer down south!?

It’s shaped my mind and taught me that choosing challenge over ease does more for my self esteem than losing a few cm ever will. It’s shown me that I can do difficult things and that the pain won’t last forever. It’s shown me what commitment, consistency and dedication to self can do for your entire life. Not only your physique. It’s given me something to fall back on when I I feel weak... and need to be reminded of how strong in body, mind and spirit I truly am. Guaranteed, even if a workout pushes me to tears or frustration, I know I will finish and I know I will have gotten better and I know that I can be proud of myself. I sucked at this workout pictured. I nearly just didn’t come back when I had to go tie Charlie up further away because he was barking. But I came back, I got my mind back in the game and I pushed myself to the timer. Even though I didn’t finish, I gave it my best on that day and I could walk away with my head high. That kind of self discipline didn’t come naturally to me in life, it has been learned and it definitely carries into other areas of my life. Joyce Remedial - I completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage at the Australian Institute of Fitness and was lucky enough to start working at a Sports Massage business within a Chiropractic clinic. After spending time working with some great therapists there, I moved to a gym setting and worked closely with a Physiotherapist. 04.01.2022 Last week we celebrated how far we have come as Core of Wellbeing in just a space of a few months. The past few months have been extremely exciting, challen...ging and a bit of a whirlwind but we wouldn’t change a thing. We know this is exactly where we dreamed to be heading. We are so grateful to have connected with likeminded individuals and businesses. We interviewed 2 amazing businesses in our local community who demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence day to day and whom are passionate about emotional wellbeing. We presented a 3 hour workshop to a group of new businesses on all things EI and Resilience. 04.01.2022 It’s not a secret that @edward_jay93 is a master mind when it comes to injury rehab and finding a solution to peoples restrictions. He has been able to successfully rehab his clients injuries getting them back to complete health when they’ve been told surgery was the only answer. Ed has clients that travel from all around the south west to Dunsborough each week to have sessions with him, many of them being fitness professional themselves. Ed’s been busy...creating something i...ncredibly special!! It’s tried, tested and proven to work!!! We are so excited to watch this help people EVERYWHERE! Stay tuned.. MAIP IS COMING

Yesterday I watched Benj and Scott workout with their daughters in Weekend Warrior, they are all members with us now after their daughters joined! It was so cool to see, I can’t really explain why it was so special but trust me on it!!... Just look how proud they are in these photos!!! Girls, you are so lucky to have these guys in your corner! Get your group of 3 together and give this a whirl! In teams of 3 12 min rounds x 3 4 mins max cals 4 mins max Dbell step overs 4 mins max burpees over your box. 1 team member who is resting must hold a heavy deadball at their chest. Score = Max cals + max dbell step overs + max burpees over your box each round.
