25.01.2022 Congratulations Cathy!! Over the weekend Cathy was named the Brisbane Lions' Best First Year Player after an amazing debut season at the Den. At TMS, we have been lucky enough to have had front row seats to the standard of hard work and dedication that Cathy shows toward her physical preparation to ensure she is performing at the elite level. Coming into the next AFL Women's season, Cathy has been working hard again and we cannot wait to see her back on the park doing what she does best. Congratulations Cathy!

Since coming in for knee rehab after a nasty knee collision, Rasil progressed through rehab under Aaron and into a performance focused program that saw him back on the field in-time to be apart of finals!! He has quality experience in the health and fitness industry, which is where he realised his passion was movement and the science behind it. 19.01.2022 Happy shoulder = Happy Simone. Simone has long been plagued by shoulder pain, limiting her normal strength routine and daily function. Sick of constant pain and instability, Simone enlisted the help of EP Simon to restore strength, increase her range and decrease any associated pain. Today she bench pressed without pain for the first time in a long time and is looking forward to a full return to pre-injury status in the near future.

17.01.2022 Great to have the team from PlayBook.Coach in-house yesterday to film Tiernan running Romelda through her paces in her off-season program. Something we often take for granted here at TMS, having a coach of Tiernan's expertise on board. The work she does with athletes across south-east Queensland is outstanding and being able to share that skill-set and knowledge of high-performance sport outside of the elite realm is something that we are lucky enough to have access to.

15.01.2022 Tickets to the Gun show now on sale! After dislocating her shoulder in a netball game, Amy decided to start conservative rehab in a bid to avoid surgery. Since training twice a week at TMS, we have seen massive changes in Amy's functional movement/range, strength and muscle mass in her shoulder. As well as returning to netball being one of Amy's goals, she also had another goal that she set in her rehab... to be able to complete the Worm.. and she's not far off!... 14.01.2022 APPOINTMENT ONLY After the recent announcement by the Australian Government this evening regarding social gatherings and the suspension of licenced premises (including indoor sporting premises and gyms), The Movement Standard will be taking the following actions effective immediately: 1. The Movement Standard WILL be operating under appointment only bookings in the immediate future. All existing and future appointments with your exercise practitioner will remain current.... 2. Access to The Movement Standard general gym facilities has been suspended indefinitely pending the Covoid-19 pandemic. We will inform all patrons when this suspension has been lifted, however effective immediately, access is restricted to appointment only bookings. Rest assured, that throughout these trying and uncertain times, the team at The Movement Standard will be taking every precaution to ensure a safe and hygienic training environment for all parties. Additional measures have been rolled out immediately with the health and safety of our members and guests the number one priority throughout this time. Bec has always had a keen interest in the gym, however recently she has been looking to gear her training more towoard the specific requirements of Aussie Rules and performance goals for the upcoming QAFLW Since training one-on-one with Tiernan, Bec's performance testing has improved dramatically and her physical prowess is on the rise. Bec now stands above the rest, metaphorically of course, with her biggest achievement coming though increasing her verti...cal jump height by 4cm in just 4 weeks!! TMS would also like to congratulate Bec on being recently appointed Head of Men's football for University of Qld Red Lions AFC.

13.01.2022 Yeah Jackie! Seeking out some help at TMS, Jackie has been working with Luke to improve her health and fitness, and what a difference this short time has made! In her testing session yesterday, Jackie weighed in 7kg lighter, has improved her strength measures by around 10reps per muscle group and completed her aerobic test. A massive improvement from the consistent effort Jackie has been putting in for the last 2 months. Well done Jackie!!

12.01.2022 Return of the Bonesaw Sam , aka 'Bonesaw', has been working relentlessly with Exercise Physiologist Simon on returning to work and, more importantly, the footy field, after recovering from a serious injury last year. Now nearing the pointy end of his recovery, Sam has started to introduce running with the help of the Anti-gravity treadmill, single leg dynamic loading and jumping.... The team at TMS is looking forward to supporting Sam to a return to the AFL field for the Kenmore Bears.

10.01.2022 WE SURVIVED! The boys are very pleased to announce Simon's calves, Aaron's knees and Luke's back survived the Change the Cycle of Homelessness ride from Brisbane to Nambour last weekend!! It was a great experience for a great cause! The hills definitely snuck up on Aa-ron which left a gap for Simo to power into Poll for the finish. Luke had his moments, primarily when the cameras were on, but the real winner on the day was sore bums, cramps and lycra tans! See you again next year Grand Fondo!

Lexi is one of our resident athletes who has been training under Tiernan in preparation to play professional netball in England. Lexi carries herself with such humility and grace and has a relentless attitude and passionate work ethic towards her training both on and off the court. Arriving to the gym with a smile on her face before usually digging into the Minties jar, Lexi is a person you just wish you had aro...und you all the time. Lexi has been a apart of the Queensland Firebirds squad for the last 3 years. Yet to debut at Suncorp Super Netball, Lexi was given an opportunity she couldn't refuse - a contract with Wasps Netball to play apart in their 2020 Vitality Superleague Netball campaign. When the gym bug bit, it bit hard and Maggie and John threw themselves into group training under Tiernan. After adapting to the gym environment and noticing changes around performance, energy levels and positive mindset - there was no keeping them away. Now, not a day that goes by where you don't see these two working hard in the gym, and even progressing their training to include one-on-on...e sessions with Tiernan. Having these two regulars in the gym and watching them achieve their goals and do things they never thought they would is great to see and a testament to their hard work! See more

02.01.2022 Feel good Friday! Great to see Hillie back on the big boys toys! After suffering a broken arm, Hillie wasn't benched! Im sure he can attest, it was quite the opposite. 01.01.2022 We all know ACL rehabilitation can be a long and arduous road, but this is one road that Alex is hitting head on. Just 4 months out from her ACL reconstruction, Alex has been working clinically on her rehab to ensure she is progressing back to Ice Hockey. Never missing a session and her commitment to the finer details of rehab has seen Alex progress quickly, improving strength markers and returning to ice skating! Working together, Exercise Physiologist Simon and the team at South City Physiotherapy have been able to progress Alex through her rehab as quickly as her progression markers allow.
