24.01.2022 I think often we can become too accustomed to putting everyone else first. We worry about our friends, our children, family, partners, co-workers, pets - everyone, the list goes on! Has anyone ever told you, you need to be more selfish with your time? I hear it A LOT I used to nickname my training as my selfish time, and whilst the intention was innocent I noticed it caught on with my family + clients, and suddenly in conversation we were all associating a negative term with our health and well-being. Prioritising your workouts is not selfish. Prioritising your health is not selfish. (Mamas, I’m pointing my finger at you in particular!) Be there for others, but never leave yourself behind. ~Dodinsky

24.01.2022 A little TB to just a few months ago, 31wks pregnant! I doubled in size towards the end of the last trimester - little did I know I would be pregnant for an extra few weeks, thanks bub But then I blinked and here we are, exactly one week p/partum; and it STILL amazes me at how quickly the body starts working to regulate you back to ‘your’ normal! Everybody’s recovery after birth is going to be a very different & unique path! Different pregnancies, different bodies! I’m e...xcited to share my own journey with you as I get back on the grinddd, and rebuild my strength + confidence not only in the gym, but in the saddle as well! - Tags; #mondaymorning #mindbodysoul #mindbodyspirit #inspirationdaily #bodybuilding #prenatal #prenatalfitness #postpartumfitness #womenshealthpt #womensfitnesscoach #fitpregnancy #personaltrainer #fitmum #mumlife #gym #mummyblogger #adelaide #southaustralia #follow #picoftheday #transformation #lornajane #equestrian #fitequestrian #equestrianfitness

09.01.2022 One of the most common answers to last week’s questionnaire was I’m unable to exercise because of the kids. Whilst I can appreciate our situations are all different, there is still a solution for everyone! Here are just a very, very few simple ideas which can help ... Make the most of your mornings: Set your alarm + get up 30mins earlier if you have to. Even 25minutes. Chances are you’re lying in bed reading this right now? Scroll later and prioritise your time! Involve them. If a formal, structured exercise plan is too stressful then ditch this idea & turn your time into something a little more fun and play-orientated. Weighted squats, bear-crawls, modified push-ups.. get creative! Use the stroller, or If they are older they can ride their bike alongside you as you go for your walk/jog. Schedule it in. We make the effort for doctors appointments, meetings, beauty appointments etc, so why not block out a particular time so you can finally join that Group Class you have been thinking about! Don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask friends or family for help! Join a gym which offers a crèche or child-minding service. My PT had to entertain or carry my daughter for 90% of my session, on multiple occasions (@bigchrisjarvis ) There is so much free content available on YouTube and in the app-store. All you need is a floor, and 5 feet of space. Arrange some toys close by to keep the little ones entertained, and away you go! Take it outdoors. DM me for a FREE 25min total body playground workout template! It doesn’t seem so hard once you change your perspective and look at having young children as a wonderful opportunity to include them in positive life activities. I have a few little projects in the works where this particular topic is covered a little more thoroughly, so stay tuned!
