A day down at the coast today has also got us thinking about possible beach drumming workshops in future! Nothing like the great outdoors. :)

20.01.2022 Warning: Drumming is addictive. You start by learning the different strokes and a basic pattern or two. You cringe when you don't get it right. You try again. You copy what you see. You repeat, correct it. You sleep on it, and you try again. You sit as one link of the circle - learners and teachers, different generations - contributing to each others' growth. You get deeply into the groove. Next moment, you lose it completely, laugh to yourself, watch for a clue. You find that beat again. You feel the warmth in your hands. You accept the offer to let yourself shine for a brief solo moment and learn that it feels good to let go! Our final beat rings out. And you feel your heart sing. <3

18.01.2022 Small drumming circles start next week! Monday 6-7pm (from 6/2) and Saturday 10:30-11:30am (from 11/2). Thanks for all those who registered their interest. 17.01.2022 We are in love...with our new drumming community! Our heartfelt thanks to every single person who attended, supported and participated in any way. How lovely it was to meet everyone and to hear you create an amazing sound after just an hour of playing together. Thank you, thank you, thank you! More photos and videos to come soon. <3

15.01.2022 Housekeeping for tomorrow's free drumming jam: - Be sun smart, including BYO water - Come a little early to sign in and meet the others - Please remove jewellery including rings/bracelets/watches while playing our drums as they can damage the skins :)... - Toilet facilities are on the other road on the way to the mini train (see map) ** if you're bringing your own drum, please bring a little chair if you can, or something to sit on!** Have fun participating! There's no pressure for perfection, just join in as you can and be part of the whole sound. One more day. <3

After the free drumming jam on Sat 28 Jan, routine drumming circle classes will be held at the following times in Canberra's inner south: Mon 6-7pm (evening bliss-out) Wed 12:30-1:30pm (lunchtime getaway) Sat 10-11am (energise the weekend)... 12.01.2022 Final places are available in our <3 small drumming circles <3 Mondays 6-7pm (from 6/2) and Saturdays 10:30-11:30am (from 11/2). Only $15 per session, in Canberra's inner south. Book now!! Other class times are also available. Message us, or complete the 'red djembe' poll on our Drumming Circle Canberra page to confirm your availability and contact details. The benefit of attending these drumming classes - apart from a weekly dose of relaxation and stress relief - is that yo...u'll correct your technique and get the rhythms in your head so you can really let go. The more experience our players have, the more we can achieve together in our big jam sessions. Small group sessions are suitable for both beginners and advanced players, as there is a place for basic and complex rhythms in the overall sound. Family friendly and accessible. Next class is Saturday 10:30am, message us to RSVP if you haven't done so yet! Venue is air conditioned so you can get your energy levels up without breaking a sweat. :)
09.01.2022 Term 2 World Drumming djembe circles start 6 May in Canberra! All drums are provided in class. Adult djembe circle = $100 for 8 weeks (10:30am Sat or 6pm Mon). Kids 'n' Carers djembe circle = $80 for 8 weeks (10am Sat). ... All warmly welcomed. Drum for fun, relaxation, musicality, and community. 08.01.2022 Loved this morning's drumming circle class! Thanks all. We made solid progress on two different rhythms, and took turns playing the dununs - whacking stuff with sticks while having a little dance is always therapeutic! We kept very cool. Perhaps even too cool for school. See you all - and more next week. Still not too late to join the group if the heat kept you away today. <3

We have some beautiful instruments available. <3 With solid and sustainably-sourced mahogany wood shells, they are 60cm high with a 12" diameter natural skin. Great size for adult hands to comfortably explore the different sounds of the djembe, and a stunning sound. Our introductory price is $230, with 10"-13" batik drum hats (navy or mustard pattern) also on sale for $15 each, while stocks last.
