Walk, Run or Ride (even just a little bit) everyday for the next month. 22.01.2022 A walking retreat is Nature's Counsel kind of wellbeing and good therapy. Join Go Yonder in this and other mountainous outings. https://fb.me/e/1NV8kDfaB

22.01.2022 Morning riverside meditation has been an important isolation activity. This week, in the lead up to Earth Day, was contemplating these beautiful words. Give it a go - settle in quietly, hear the author read out loud. Let the words sink in. They speak to now. https://onbeing.org/poetry/the-peace-of-wild-things/

21.01.2022 Great to read this NY Times article speaking to the benefits and opportunities of therapy outdoors. Nature's Counsel takes a beautiful, broad view of the counselling room; Walk and Talk, wellbeing whilst outside, local parks, remote locations. We love Bush Adventure Therapy! https://www.washingtonpost.com//a9e99308-13ad-11eb-ad6f-36

19.01.2022 Honour Mother Earth...

19.01.2022 A little bit of 'bush adventure family therapy'. Just what was needed mid way through this latest COVID lockdown.

17.01.2022 Loving having the The Practical Mystic back online a little more often during this time of #stayathome. Thanks Sara! Earth Day is coming up, 22nd April, how are you going to honour her?

17.01.2022 How's your day? Here is a little insight to mine, and the wellbeing I weaved in throughout. Tired and bleary (teary) upon waking = stay in bed that little bit longer listening to Tara Brach reclined podcast and meditation = more rested after a late night at work. A short time later, flat in mood and mode = gentle jog with the dog through the bush = activate endorphins, soak up nature, feel better, and dog gets a run. Still feeling anxious about the upcoming day = yoga with Ad...riene - social anxiety = feel more grounded, more capacity to be myself. This stays with me throughout the day. Long drive to do = music for wellbeing (curated for meaning) = arrive at a gathering to acknowledge a friends passing and celebrate his impact on our lives. My day of active practice gifts me openness and care; for myself and others. We share stories around the campfire in the Cathedral bush, with river song. Some days wellbeing is hard to find, I make it a focused practice. And from trust, experience and inspiration I know that on other days I will wake and find natural contentment shining bright out of simple everyday things. Embracing both is key. Here is links to some of the wellbeing practices the gifted my day. https://www.tarabrach.com/radical-love-part-1-reflections-/ https://onbeing.org//billy-mills-christina-torres-ashley-/ https://yogawithadriene.com/yoga-for-social-anxiety/ https://www.abc.net.au//music-for-wellbeing-meani/12418288 https://www.youtube.com/watch

17.01.2022 Another wonderful way to acknowledge NAIDOC week and dive deeper into Bush Adventure Therapy practice. Thanks so much to the crew at Outdoor Healthcareare and the Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy Inc. (AABAT) for curating this selection of indigenous presenters from the 2020 Nature and Health Symposium, held earlier this year. https://outdoorhealthcare.org.au/naidoc-2020/ #alwayswasalwayswillbe #aabat #outdoorhealthcare

17.01.2022 Beautiful combination of song, nature song and scenery. Soothing and inspiring in all aspects.

16.01.2022 Podcasts a plenty nourish my whole being. This one has been a go-to for most of this year, so soothing the Irish accent and so great to have someone else interpret the poetry for me. Today's listening, as it relates to COVID19 is gratitude to all the care givers, to the care giver in us all. https://onbeing.org//a-poem-in-gratitude-for-health-care-/

16.01.2022 This! Podcast conversations that speak to the communication with the people in our lives. It's also about songbirds. And writing. Happy listening! Follow Out There Podcast if you haven't already. http://bit.ly/criticallearningperiod

15.01.2022 In 2016, I began my work at Nature's Counsel - the Natural Space to Be (my heart-business endeavor). I have loved every aspect of Nature's Counsel. After putting it largely on hold at the start of 2019 when I began my work at Odyssey House, I am now re-engaging with aspects of the work. In particular I wanted to share that I am offering Bush Adventure Therapy informed counselling sessions. As detailed on the website, the sessions will be for people from all walks of life; w...ishing to explore well-being or navigating specific life challenges. Embracing a broad view of the counselling room, each session could take place in accessible locations in nature. Sessions are offered online or in the more traditional counselling room environment. The availability will be on a very part time basis, but I appreciate if you have anyone in mind who you feel might be interested, value or benefit from engaging with Nature's Counsel, please refer them to the following link. www.thenaturalspacetobe.com.au/natures-counsel-1-1-sessions

15.01.2022 Music as Medicine. Instructive and beautiful. Music sweet music. https://onbeing.org//craig-minowa-cloud-cult-music-as-med/

14.01.2022 A favourite Mary Oliver poem. Yours?

14.01.2022 Today! See you later this morning for this wonderful event.

13.01.2022 Play. Constancy and Integrity. 'Dancing thoughts'. Flow, joy and freedom. These adn many other beautiful and philosophical perspectives in this old RN episode help broaden out the assumptions around running - one of Nature's Counsel favorite wellbeing practices. https://www.abc.net.au//body/philosophical-running/4806470

12.01.2022 One of the wonderful ways to acknowledge NAIDOC week. Magnificent meditation from an elder that has done the work of healing, and invites self-compassion from his authentic, solid, humorous heart. We love Uncle Jack Charles!

12.01.2022 Ah the tingling alive sensations of leaping into a river, the ocean, a lake. Lots of years celebrating moments like this, and the people that have shared them. Not always icy cold, but the Mitta Mitta, Tasmania's Franklin River, and my backyard the King River sure bring out a gasp and shriek of joy. GIVE ME, OH NATURE, YOUR PRIMAL SANITIES! Walt Whitman

11.01.2022 We are taking part in Bush Heritage Australia Groundwork Challenge! Groundwork for wellbeing; physically and mentally, for us humans and to benefit of animals and nature too. Join our team! https://www.groundworkchallenge.org.au/.../kingvalleygrou... #groundworkchallenge #kingvalley #naturegoodforbodymindsoul

11.01.2022 Focused on the fierce, glimmering light...

10.01.2022 Looking forward to attending this! Enroll now, accessible (online low cost) and informative - naturally.

09.01.2022 Podcasts are a gift, the conversation and perspective across topics something to be grateful for. This one is richer for the sharing... "dandelions as global citizens", "the role of the writer as a conduit for story", and "the spirit of reciprocity that lies at the heart of our relationship to place". Enjoy the nurture and the nudge towards connecting with nature. https://podcasts.apple.com//robin-wall-kimme/id1368790239

08.01.2022 Nature's Counsel has gathered together in past years around the New Moon for meditation and nature connection. Gatherings have paused for a while (COVID19 and other work commitments) so here is a guide to a New Moon practice for the nature night and sky. It's going be cold where I am so will be well rugged up. Enjoy.

07.01.2022 Morning coffee! Machine coffee in the thermos, sitting quietly looking out over the landscape; after group fitness, enroute to work. A very valued morning meditation. Enjoy your morning wake up.

07.01.2022 Hoppy at home, bandicoot Easter, nature new life wishes.

06.01.2022 A Nature's Counsel 'counselling room'. The backdrop to a therapeutic conversation this week. Beautiful! 1-1sessions in nature, online or in the more traditional counselling room. Email: [email protected]

03.01.2022 "The meaning of the Inuit word qarrstiluni conjures up a striking image: sitting together in the dark, waiting for something to happen. Teju Cole shares the word in his On Being conversation, and it’s been increasingly resonant in the months and weeks since COVID-19 began affecting communities across the world. The pandemic has exposed how interconnected and interdependent we are as humans. Everyday practices, like handwashing and covering our sneezes, have become the most basic duty we owe to friends and strangers alike. And we’re finding thoughtful ways to care for one another amidst the tumult."... https://onbeing.org//a-listening-care-package-for-uncerta/

03.01.2022 Loving this and many other wellbeing practices over the past many months. https://youtu.be/hJbRpHZr_d0
