05.01.2022 The Newport would like to update our local and broader community on our annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display. We respectfully accept the decision made today by the Rural Fire Services to not allow the fireworks display on New Year’s Eve to proceed as planned in Rowland Reserve. Whilst acknowledging the risk of fire was small, any risk, given our close proximity to bushland and the current environmental conditions, was deemed not worth taking. Our annual New Year’s Event at The Newport will still proceed with entertainment all afternoon, local crowd favourites Barney Cools DJs from 6pm, and a lighting and laser show that is set to kick us into 2020 in style.
