24.01.2022 Sometimes you just gotta let that downward dog go into nap mode. Hands up if you gave live stream yoga a shot during iso... but failed after 20 minutes and starfished on the mat instead
23.01.2022 Snapped negotiating my terms for the move-in date at Gather in Currumbin. OK, maybe not, but they did have the most incredible flower bar Ive ever seen. They are helping us put the final touches on our stand at the Queensland Food & Hospitality show this weekend - pictures coming soon If youre in the area Sunday or Monday and would like to come by the show let us know and we will arrange a pass. link below ... https://www.foodandhospitality.com.au

22.01.2022 Morning Sipsters! Heres a bit of mid-week motivation to keep you moving thanks to #bossbabe illustrator @sasa_elebea. Its times like this that its easy to be overwhelmed and question how you can make an impact on something as big as climate change or pollution when youre just one person. But heres the thing - dwelling on the issue doesnt make a difference. Its taking the first step that will. Here are just a few "little" things you can do that can h...elp minimise your impact, and help others start their journey. - start a "green team" in the office (youll be surprised how many people will want to join!) - put a bag next to your bin for soft plastics that you can recycle at your nearest supermarket that everyone in the house will use. - when youre at the supermarket, when you have a choice, always opt for the item in non-plastic packaging (or even better, no packaging at all! just dont forget your reusable bags). For example, milk & milk alternatives almost always have a carton option. Id love to hear about some of the small changes youve made that have help inspired others to make a change themselves. Feel free to share in the comments! #inspiration #motivation #sustainable #quotes #motivationalquotes #ecofriendly #positivevibes #sustainablestyle #thenextsip See more
22.01.2022 KEEP GOING | So some of you might recall that a little while back I shared an image that said Keep Going and then not long after...I stopped. Not only did I stop sharing, but I stopped believing in what I was capable of and took a back seat hoping it would all just fall into place (hello #impostersyndrome). Plot twist: it didnt. The past 7 weeks Ive been travelling across the US, UK & Europe, listening to podcasts, reading books (if you havent read DisruptHer by Miki Ag...rawal then do yourself a favour and buy/download that baby today. It changed everything for me) and basically getting my head back in the game. So here I am! Back in Australia and back on that horse. The Next Sip has been a love child for me, born from my passion to make an impact rather than sit back and let myself be overwhelmed by global issues, plastic pollution in particular. Ill be using this channel to share my adventures with @thenextsip and, lets be honest, keep myself accountable. I hope youll join me (and will throw in advice here and there because Im going to need your help!) For now, head to stories to follow our adventures at the @foodhospitalityqld show this weekend See you on the Sip side, Abbey x
21.01.2022 Just a little reminder for anyone who needs to hear it. @selfcareisapriority
20.01.2022 Youve been such a special part of our journey, and Im so thankful you chose to follow along. This will be a completely different concept and product to The Next Sip so I understand if it isnt for you! But at our core we still have the same goal of producing products ethically, sustainably and giving back in an effort to make the world a better place than we found it. Just in a very different way... More info can be found in the following post (I think the biggest hint will come from this image though!)
19.01.2022 A brilliant initiative from one of our amazing stockists in Sydney
18.01.2022 If anyone needs us, well be washing off the week in the waves.
16.01.2022 Sharing is caring Did you know that each tube of wheat stem Raw Straws comes with 100 sippers? At only $12.95 thats less than 13 cents per straw. So now, not only do you have a earth-friendly straw for yourself, if youre smashing the vodka sodas with your mates you can throw one their way too #nextroundisonthem #siptips
16.01.2022 FREE STRAWS FOR FIRE DONATIONS As you will know NSW & QLD has been burning for several weeks now and as of Tuesday the situation became catastrophic. As someone who is just so bloody thankful to call this amazing place home, and cant bear the thought of the impact of this disaster on peoples lives and the local wildlife, I just couldnt sit by and not get involved. As a start up I dont have much money, but what I do have is a sipload of straws, so for every person who do...nates $20 or more to charity I am giving away a set of 5 bamboo straws. To receive just share a picture of your receipt on your Facebook, Insta stories or feed, tag @thenextsip & #thenextsiperhero and a pack of sustainable sippers are heading your way. Get involved and lets support our local Aussies and wildlife during this challenging time. *free shipping available for AU residents only. Only while stocks last.

13.01.2022 Something NEW this way comes... Well I think we can all agree 2020 has been the most challenging puzzle yet. The arrival of COVID-19 has been an interesting hurdle for The Next Sip, and as a result we have made the difficult decision to put the business on hold. At least for now. But this doesnt mean the end of us - we have a new puzzle to start! Check out the next post for more details
13.01.2022 The reasons to make a swap to a sustainable sipping option are stacking up. Are you ready to take the first step? Head to www.thenextsip.com.au to get started. #thenextsip #therawstraw #bamboo
13.01.2022 There are times that Im inspired by the way people can band together to create something great from something terrible - but unfortunately this weekend wasnt one of those times. As many of you will know, @thenextsip is a side hustle for me, by day I look after an Australian brand with almost 160,000 highly engaged followers. On Thursday I was given the OK to donate a large amount of high price items to those who donated to the Fire charity of their choic...e - similar to what I have done with my straws. The social response was amazing and so so positive, but the number of people who donated? Dismal. It was less than 10 people and 6 of those were my own social network (thank you to those people by the way) It made me realise that social media has given us all an outlet to say thats so terrible but when it comes to putting money where our mouths are - theres a disconnect. I heard a stat recently that when the Amazon was burning they lost 125,000 hectares, and as of Friday we have lost 970,000. Its terrifying. Im not saying the only way to give back is to throw money at the issue - you can donate time, clothes, food and even blood. Or write a letter to your local MP. But its important to realise that someone else isnt going to fix it, and sitting back and saying thats so sad isnt going to create a change for good. Now more than ever we need to sit up and be the change we want to see. I would love to hear stories about great things everyday people have been doing to support this disaster relief because, honestly, its times like this that make me fear the worst for the world. Thanks for listening to my rant and God save the koalas - Abbey x
12.01.2022 Nothing will top the happiness delivered by heavy rain during bushfire season (hooray) But these stories are a lovely cherry on top.
11.01.2022 If anyone needs us, we'll be washing off the week in the waves.

10.01.2022 M I N D F U L N E S S isn't (always) meditation. While meditation is a great way to rest your brain, feel better and ease anxiety, it doesn't always come easily. If you struggle with meditation (like me) swap the switch-off for a walk, cooking a meal, or sit down with a puzzle, but practice doing it mindfully. Notice the smells, the sights, how your body feels. Notice your thoughts. Tune in. Dedicate time each day not just to meditation, ...but to practicing mindful awareness in other areas of your life. Life becomes much more enjoyable when we slow down and actually live it. A x See more
10.01.2022 All this activism makes for thirsty work. Cheers to all those who came, chanted and cheered at todays Climate protest, youre the real heroes. Heres a recipe for a Blood Orange Gin Sparkler to help you take the edge off. Ingredients 2 cups / 480 ml water 1 cup / 6.5 oz / 185 g sugar... 4 tablespoons (~2 sprigs-worth) fresh rosemary leaves 1 bay leaf (optional) blood oranges gin ice cubes tonic water (or sparkling water) Combine the water, sugar, rosemary, and bay in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer for 3-5 minutes, or long enough for the sugar to dissolve, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and let infuse for 10 minutes. Strain into a jar to cool completely. In the meantime, juice and strain your oranges, youll need 3 tablespoons / 1.5 ounces of juice for each drink. #reSIPeoftheweek See more

06.01.2022 One of the best bits about being a business which has an eco-minded ethos is getting to work with other businesses who share the same vision! Lucky for us, most of the venues who choose to serve their drinks with Raw Straws turn out to be seriously cool venues. In the first edition of "Meet the Siperstars" we chatted with Prue from Blue Kahunas in Newcastle, to hear about the inspiration behind the tiki bar she founded with her husband, Byron, and their sustainability journey... (including a pretty cool hack with pineapple skins!). Check it out on the link below thenextsip.com.au/blog/meet-the-siperstars-prue-blue-kahunas

02.01.2022 The Perfect Circle Did you know that wheat stem Raw Straws are considered a circular economy product? A byproduct of the wheat production industry, traditionally considered waste, we save the husks from the incinerator and convert them into drinking straws instead. Once theyve been used all you have to do is pop them in your nearest garden bed. The best bit is theyre so natural theyre actually good for the garden. Thats right. They a...ct as mulch, helping retain water so you dont have to water as often. It doesnt get much more simple or planet-friendly than this. See more
