08.01.2022 Here’s my update and blocks 1-20/100 for the #naivemelodysal being hosted by @_lucyengels At the 11th hour I e decided to add in that stripe as I was concerned the value of the shot cotton next to the Carolyn Friedlander sharp print was too heavy. I may yet swap those blocks out, but looking at them here I now think it may work after all. I’m. Not sewing the blocks in any particular order and will probably change up the layout many time s before I’m done. The flexibility ...to change things up is just one of the fun things about this project. 05.01.2022 Pins pins pins! Not all pins are created equal so I though I’d share a bit about the ones I use everyday, side by side so you can see the difference I use the Clover Applique and Entomology pins for needleturn. The teardrop head means the thread is more likely to slip over the top and not get caught as often on the shoulder. The clover are great for small motifs and I use the long entomology ones for larger pieces as I can take two ‘bites’ of the fabric. They’re als...o really fine so are my go to when working with delicate fabrics like lawn or hand piecing. I use the glass head pins for most other patchwork and garments. They’re sharp, nicely polished so they glide through the fabric and if I happen to hit it with the iron the head won’t melt.
