22.01.2022 Saturn conjunct Mars in Aquarius Jupiter conjunct Pluto in Capricorn The huge planetary combos keep happening, and we are all trying so hard to navigate our way through them. I’m exhaustedhow about you?... All the dark and destructive parts of ourselves, and everyone in this world, are being brought out into plain sight for all to see. The idea is that we have a choice either transform into something better, more beneficial to humanity, or suffer the consequences of our actions. We can do what we think is right for us, without taking others into account, but the outcome will not be what you’d hoped for. Or, we can fight for humanity. Fight for our planet. Start planning how we will rebuild this wonderful place after this is all over. Remember our planet is a living, breathing animal. It gives us so much oxygen, shelter, water - now is the time to give back. Learn from some of our native people how to live seasonally, follow moon cycles and treat the earth and all its inhabitants with deep respect. 22.01.2022 New Moon in Gemini The Sun and Moon will come together in Gemini early in the morning, to create the New Moon. The topics up for renewal at this New Moon are communication, learning, social activity, variety, community/neighbours. What are some new and better ways to communicate with others?... What new and interesting things can I start to study? Where have I been to stagnant? How can I get more variety into these areas? With Mercury (the ruler of this New Moon) being out of bounds in Gemini, alongside Venus, also out of bounds, we could think or say things that are out of the ordinary. It’s a time when communicating with loved ones knows no bounds, but may need to. We could also see some abnormal, and even unstable, behaviour taking place. Generally, we would take a giant step out onto a new path at a New Moon, but I feel the key here is to perhaps write down your ideas first and go over them thoroughly before acting on them or, even better, wait until both planets are back under the Sun’s steady gaze about mid-June. We can plan to our heart’s content, but we may just need a little more stability before we communicate to our special someone that we are thinking of inviting the neighbours over for a skinny-dipping session to discuss your new interest in studying Swahili. 22.01.2022 Mercury is moving into retrograde motion today the first of three this year. One of the things that Mercury retrograde time wants us to do, is to take a step back, to listen and to examine how we communicate. Most of the time we are too busy prattling on to notice if we are communicating effectively. Are you saying what you want to say? How you want to say it? To the people that need to hear you? Is your written communication clear and precise? This is a time to reassess... and redefine all that you say and do. Look to the house in your own chart that Mercury will be travelling through. This will give you an idea in what area of your life you’ll be experiencing the retrograde. For example, if it is in your 4th house, you would look at how you are communicating with family members. (If you head to my website and add you name to my mailing list, I’ll send you a free Astrological Houses reference sheet which shows what area of life each house rules). You may have already had a taste of what is to come during the shadow period so more of this. Listening is also part of the communication process. Try staying silent occasionally and hold space for someone else to have their say. You never know what you might learn. And don’t feel the need to always fill the empty spaces with chatter. Just let the silence wash over you and observe. Mercury will be retrograding through Pisces and is in close proximity to its ruler, Neptune. Your mind may be clouded, your thoughts drifting to off to strange places. It’s a time to retreat, record your dreams, listen to your intuition. Your inner voice will be strong. 19.01.2022 ‘No man is an island’ John Donne The Sun in Aries moves into oppose the Moon in Libra, forming the Full Moon, we are drawn to look at how we relate to others. Are we co-operating or are we rebelling? Are we seeing both sides of every situation, or are we fixated on our own point of view? There is no ‘all-or-nothing’ with a Full Moon. The Moon naturally draws our attention away from our Ego-centred focus and highlights the opposing Soul-centred alternative, so that we can... find the balance between the two. In Aries, we are fiercely independent - getting things done by ourselves, in our own way. In Libra, we compromise, looking for balance and asking others for their opinion to make sure everyone is happy. The balance between the two is found in looking at how we can forge ahead with our own agenda, but also remembering to listen to others. Accept help when it’s offered, but maintain your boundaries, or else you will lose your pioneering edge. 16.01.2022 I’ve been away from my posts for a while. When you have a Full Moon lunar eclipse on your 6th house of health, sometimes things don’t go as planned. Sometimes you need to take a step back. A time out. As this showed up as we also entered the Mercury retrograde shadow, I know that during this upcoming Mercury retrograde, this is what I will be working on. Mercury represents our mind and our mouth. How we communicate, how we think, how we use out mind. During this Mercury... retrograde (beginning Friday) we can look at what we fill our mind with each day. Do we nourish it with peaceful, loving thoughts, or do we fill it with fear and hate. Do we spend time outside, taking in the plethora of information from the beautiful world around us, or do we choose, instead, to spend endless hours in front of mind numbing screens. We get to choose every day. Nourish your mind. Make conscious, healthy choices about the things you give your mind to think about. Make time for silence too. Sometimes your mind just needs a rest.
16.01.2022 Tomorrow, the Nodes of the moon will change signs, moving into Gemini (North Node) and Sagittarius (South Node) after 18 months in Cancer/Capricorn. This will bring a shift in where our priorities lie and what we are healing to get there. The nodes are ‘the path of karma’. They are not physical objects, just points in the sky marking where (in basic terms) the path of the moon crosses the paths of the Sun and the Earth. The SN represents our past that we are healing and mov...ing away from, and the NN shows how we do that, so, where we need to move towards. A Sagittarius SN will show us where we have had an overinflated sense of abundance, where we have been fixed in our beliefs and where we may have become a little preachy thinking our view is the only one. So how do we move forward from this? We look at the NN. Gemini is (amongst other things) about communications, socialising and our local community (remember those wonderful things?). Here we will be looking to grow our communities again, gathering and sharing information with others and having a little fun. If you have planets in Gemini or Sagittarius, especially your Natal nodes, the next 18 months will be a huge time of growth in the areas of life represented by the houses they are located in. 15.01.2022 In the early hours of tomorrow, we have a Full Moon in Virgo, the sign of cleanliness, orderliness, health and details. Dontcha love the synchronicity? As the fear and uncertainty about the THAT virus take hold, we need to be practical and make sure we know all the details before doing anything rashtoilet paper anyone?... There is going to be a lot confusion and fake news out there as the moon opposes Neptune, so pay attention to your hygiene practices, look after your health, stay positive (trine Jupiter) and have courage (trine Mars). Let go of any unhealthy habits that may be weighing you down and as the moon begins to wane over the next two weeks, start to make rest a priority. Take responsibility for your own health and do nothing to harm the health of others. Check in on elderly or frail friends, family or neighbours. Offer to do their grocery shopping or run errands to keep them out of crowded areas. Being of service to others is such a beautiful way to celebrate a Virgo Full Moon. 06.01.2022 Resist and retreat As gentle Venus moves closer to dreamy Neptune today you may feel like retreating to spend time with a loved one, or time doing anything that brings you joy. These two planets are both in Pisces right now, where Neptune rules and Venus is exalted, so the mood should be gentle and loving. A time to let go and go with the flow, as they say.... But with both of them forming a challenging aspect to Mars in Sagittarius, letting go may bring up some tensions. Try not to act out, or react. It would be a good time to use up this restless, uncomfortable energy by doing something physical. Going for a long walk (by water would be ideal), some yoga or anything that doesn’t stir you up too much, but instead, helps dissipate the fire as it erupts. 05.01.2022 Mercury moves into Aries This is generally a time when our minds are very active. New ideas a surging forth so fast that it’s hard to keep up. It can also be a time when we speak brashly, cutting people off in mid conversation because we think what we have to say is too important to miss. (I have Mercury in Aries in my birth chart, so if you could all sit quietly and listenI’ll move on ) With the sextile to Saturn in Aquarius, we are given a chance to ground ourselves ...before we speak, take stock of what we want to say before we speak out of turn, and ensure that what we have to say is beneficial to others, not just for our own grandstanding (oops). Mercury will also be squaring the Nodes, which can bring challenges that move us forward towards out purpose. New, entrepreneurial ideas may arise that may lead us in a direction we hadn’t thought of before. By mid-week, Mercury joins up with Chiron (the wounded healer) which can bring up sad or painful memories or conversations. Don’t ignore them remember them, thank them for the lessons they taught you, forgive and let go. Every year we get this opportunity to heal our minds, our thoughts, our memories. 05.01.2022 Aries season is here - it’s your birthday Rams!! Being an Aries myself, I do love this time of year. It’s also the beginning if the Astro New Year - so full of promise of new and exciting beginnings. But this year feels a lot different. Reflecting on the warrior archetype of Aries, I can’t help but see him reflected in us all as we don our protective ‘armour’ each day and head out to face the our new invisible foe. 01.01.2022 Mercury is in the spotlight this week, starting on Sunday night (in Australia), it will enter its retrograde shadow at 28 degrees Aquarius. This is the degree he will return to during his retrograde (which starts on the 17th). Over the next couple of weeks, until the retrograde commences, pay attention to all things relating to Mercury communications, electronics, cars, short journeys, emails, study, teaching, meetings etc. Just see what comes up for you over these next... two weeks in regards to these topics, as this could be what you will be working on when Mercury back tracks over this area during the retrograde. And in just over 24 hours later, on Monday night (Aus time) Mercury will be entering Pisces. Here he is in detriment, which means he is challenged and can’t perform his duties as effectively as usual (similar to when he is retrograde). You may feel vague, day-dreamy or emotional during this time. How long? Due to the retrograde, and apart from popping briefly back into Aquarius for a little bit during that time, he’ll won’t fully leave Pisces until mid-April. So how do we use this time in watery Pisces? As we switch off our analytical left brain, it will be a wonderful time for using your imagination, or developing your intuition. You might come up with some wonderful ideas that have been hard to access when Mercury was much stronger, especially when he makes an exciting sextile to the planet of surprises, Uranus on Wednesday. Chill out, take a walk on the beach, paint, draw, be creative. Spend time being quiet and listening to what your being guided to hear.
