12.01.2022 Recently non/fiction Lab’s Rebecca Hill, Senior Lecturer in the School of Media and Communication, joined David Rutledge to discuss the work of philosopher Jacques Derrida in The Philosopher’s Zone on ABC RN. In 1967, French philosopher Jacques Derrida wrote There is nothing outside the text. Or did he? It’s a bad translation that’s launched a thousand bad interpretations and Derrida himself came to regret that he hadn’t phrased the original French more carefully. Still,... this tiny thoughtbite has gone on to become a key element of Derrida’s work, and of feminist philosophies committed to exploring the undecidability of sexual difference. Hear Rebecca discuss these ideas as part of her curatorship of Philosophies of Difference the seminar series engaging with Continental philosophy and problems that have been marginal to the dominant traditions of Western thought.
