It appears that the theme of gifting this year is: OPEN ENDED PLAY! The benefits of open ended play include: ... Cognitive development Language development Decision making skills Experimentation and learning new concepts Creativity skills and imaginative play The core concept of open ended play are toys which have more than one way to play with them. Toys that allow for open ended play often grow with the child so they are a great investment. Here are some of the ideas you guys suggested. These mamas have been building their knowledge and skills over the 5 weeks of classes and so far the biggest take aways have been: Massage techniques for upset tummies/ unsettled babies ... How to adapt the massage sequences as baby grows How babies communicate (what it looks like and how to respond) Building confidence in their mama instincts by exploring the science behind ways they naturally interact with baby Learning ways to bond with baby and how to integrate these in to the everyday moments This class is just as much about creating confident mama's as it is about baby massage! There is something so special in having this time each week where the focus is soley on getting to know your little one and letting them know you. The next group starts in just one week.
