23.01.2022 Thanks to all the dedicated riders who came along to our annual Boxing Day ride, a bit of rain wasn’t going to keep you away! Regardless of the less than desirable conditions we had a great turn out of 80+ people across the two bunches. Group 1 ably led by Han, Mex, Tong & Shad had a huge 50+ people they had an incident free ride with many riders never having ridden those distances or climbed that much before! Many regular faces were also there especially from the NWSCC club... -Well done and a thank you to all! Group 2 of 30 riders led by Matt & Bridget had a bad start. 10 mins into the ride they had a very near miss with an over eager Ute. The Ute driver lost control & crashed sideways into a pole on the opposite side of the road narrowly missing the back of the bunch in its path. !!! Pretty darn scary. Thank you so much to Ian Haigh & another kind gentleman (sorry I don’t know your name) for waiting for the Police to arrive , we appreciate your selflessness. Speaking of great helpers thanks also to Rob for helping with the sweeping! The rest of the ride went well with some solid efforts on the climbs and we were happy to roll back into Dural on mostly dry roads. Coffee & refreshments were greatly received by Rob Johnstone from Black and White coffee. Thank you to everyone for making The Odd Spoke community store that it is Happy riders, happy days, happy holidays! See you all back in 2021
