24.01.2022 Hi Everyone , I hope everyone is staying safe I’m not one for putting anything up on Facebook unless it’s business related but today i just have to put up a post about my father Today is his last day at the hospital and it’s retirement time Over 45 years of service I don’t think anyone could replace his work ethic, his popularity to all the staff , his cheekiness , his positive nature and the man he is ... Super proud of ya Billy Boy and It sucks you don’t get to go out with a bang and congratulate such a monumental effort with everyone but I know if you could have a farewell there would be hundreds congratulating you ! You are a very special human and you always put others first. I’m such a lucky bloke to have a father that has always encouraged me to achieve and be the best version of myselfI wouldn’t have done the things I have without your support and to be able to have such a great business and my own little family comes down to you teaching me what it is to be a man in society and what it means to treat others how you would like to be treated ! So many of my friends always ask how you are and how thankful they are of having you in there lives and that shows how incredible of a man you are to everyone Good luck in retirement Dad and I’m super proud of you and keep being you Billy . 23.01.2022 Hello Everyone Well we made it 10 years at the old gaol ! We started here at the gaol on 1st of October 2010. If someone told me when I was young that I would live in prison for 10 years I would have thought they were crazy I want to thank everyone who has been a part of our journey ... To be honest when we started this adventure the venue was a disgrace and sooo run down that no one gave us a chance ! But the building has a special energy and myself and my amazing wife Melissa knew very early on that we had something special Blood sweat and tears and a huge amount of work and we are now a 10 year business . I want to a give a special shout out to my 2 great friends Tom Neale and Daniel Clarke who without there help early we wouldn’t have ever finished renovating and repairing so a massive thank you boys Also to my mum and dad who never gave up on me even though they thought I was crazy with the idea of creating this special venue . A big shout out to Adam Jankie who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to bring my first big music show to Mt Gambier Bliss N Eso which gave the me the platform to bring big name acts to the gaol . To Randall and TEG Live who also believed in me and brought Hilltop Hoods to town . A special mention to a very good friend of mine Dwaine McDonald who has taught me so much about the music industry and who has brought the hugely popular Red Hot Summer Tours to my venue and our wonderful town and region Thank you gents for not giving up on me and seeing our visions and without your help I wouldn’t have been able to create such a large music scene in the town You 3 will always have a key to our home and venue and a massive thank you To the most important person in my life Melissa Your strength , your attitude , your wisdom , your love , your perseverance thank you babe without you I would be lost ! We have lasted 10 years not only as a couple , but as business partners and a family you put up with me when I’m angry , sad, happy And just putting up with me as a male Thank you so much for choosing me as your life partner and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you . We Have created something so special together and I look forward to another 10 years in business with you This year has been a massive challenge but we saw it as a special time to spend time with our children , health check our family and business and we have really enjoyed the time to reassess what is really important in life which is family We will continue to build our business and We will continue to bring another 10 years of memories to not only our little family but to our town and region so thank you once again for everyone who has came through the gaol doors and helped us achieve what has been an amazing 10 year ride See you all soon . 08.01.2022 Hi Everyone I thought I would share something with you all that holds a very special place in our old gaol journey I was fortunate enough to a part of this amazing tour which became the largest hip hop tour in Australian history ! Adam and the BNE boys rocked out the Old Gaol and even filmed the gaol show as part of there DVD so sit back and relive an epic event which helped put not only the old gaol but Mount Gambier on The music map Can you see yourself in the crowd ? 03.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We have just had the Compton Fire Brigade come down to the gaol to let us know that the total amount raised yesterday at the Red Hot Summer Tour was $28,680.75 WOW, well done to you all It really shows what a great community we are and I feel very proud to be able to hold an event and to be able to help put back to such a great cause The fire fighters and volunteers are working tirelessly to help save our great country and its the least we could do as a co...mmunity so a massive thank you I would also like to thank Duane and his RHST team who also donated $2000 on the day , to the artists who helped promote, to Killing Heidi and The Angels who donated there merchandise sales to the cause and of course our fire fighters . It’s a great amount of money but it just wouldn’t be right until we hit an even number so myself and my wife will donate the rest to get it to $30,000 The Compton Brigade have also left a tin with us at the Old Gaol so if anyone wants to come down and donate please do Much love and thank you for supporting what myself and Melissa try and bring to our amazing town and region James See more

01.01.2022 It's that time of the year again.. Snowy needs a fresh look! This year we had Nick from Hobby farm shearing/crutching call past to shear him. He did a fantastic job! Snowy is rather huge nowadays and doesn't like his annual haircut, but Nick was calm and patient and kind and before we knew it, it was all over. Thanks Nick! Snowy loves his new do.
