09.01.2022 With retail stores pulling out their Christmas decorations, it has made us suddenly realise that it's 10 weeks until Christmas Whether you love a good Christmas Carol, or find it insufferable, one thing we know you will love is a great quality Christmas ham. Luckily, Roman is holding two! ... Our @barklysmokehouse hams will be the talk of every (socially distanced) feast this Christmas! Thank you @deliver_food for the shout out!

09.01.2022 Brie vs Camembert What's not to love about a creamy, round French cheese with a bloomy rind? Both Camembert and Brie are equally as tasty, but they can be hard to tell apart.... It's much easier to tell the difference when you have the traditional, French version of this cheese. Since its Australian counterpart is made with homogenized milk (and not always using traditional methods) it can make it difficult to differentiate. Size Camembert is smaller in diameter and comes in a wooden box which was designed by engineer, Monsieur Ridel, allowing the cheese to travel to all parts of Europe. Brie is larger and flatter, traditionally sold by the slice rather than the whole wheel. Cream Cream is added to Brie, giving it a creamier and smoother texture. Taste Both cheeses can be described as nutty, earthy and fruity. However, Brie is more buttery and has a milder flavour profile. Whilst Camembert has a more intense flavour and aroma, offering an earthier flavour. Whichever you choose you can't really go wrong with either cheese. We have a wide range of French brie and camembert on offer, including a truffle brie, so if you want to come see them for yourself visit our Deli!
