16.01.2022 ONLY NINE MORE SLEEPS TO GO! We are so excited to let you know that the OM Movement will be opening again on June 13th! We are delighted to once again be able t...o move, breathe and practice with you! To prepare for reopening the OM Movement, we will be spending the next week and a half doing some minor renovations at the studio, so that you will be able to come back to a beautiful, fresh space. When we reopen on the 13th, there will be some changes that allow us to continue to keep you safe, so we ask for your support and understandingthings may be just a little different from now on at the studio. CLASS NUMBERS: Class numbers will be limited to 10. We will set out mat placement markers to ensure social distancing. As there will be limited spots available, please book your classes through Mindbody to ensure you get a space. If something comes up and you can no longer attend, please cancel your place as early as possible so someone else can take up the spot. YOGA PROPS: We will no longer be providing the use of mats, blocks, straps or blankets to ensure we eliminate the health risks that sharing these items may present. Bolsters will still be available for use in our Yin sessions provided that you bring along a pillowcase to cover the bolster while you use it (a body or bed buddy pillowcase will be large enough). SCHEDULE: There will be some changes to our class schedule as we will allow at least 30 minutes between classes. This allows us the ability to disinfect high traffic areas and ensures we are able to maintain social distancing throughout the studio. We will upload the schedule changes to Mindbody in the next week. CLEANING: We will continue our rigorous cleaning routine at the studio. High traffic areas will be cleaned with antibacterial cleaning products after each session. CONTACT TRACING: Our Mindbody system allows us to quickly and easily contact trace if necessary. If you believe your contact details need to be updated, let us know as soon as possible! ONLINE YOGA: We will do our best to ensure that you can keep practicing through this time. We know limited class numbers may mean you may not always be able to get a spot in your class of preference, and we understand that not all of you may feel comfortable coming back to a face-to-face setting at this stage, so we will continue to offer some online sessions each week. Lastly, we ask that you maintain the usual protocols we are asked to adhere to; social distancing, staying home if youre not feeling well, and washing your hands regularly. Only nine more sleeps to gowe cant wait to see you on the mat again! The OM Movement Team

Movement will be offering online yoga sessions only until further notice. We are excited to explore this new avenue of delivering our classes to you, and were looking forward to connecting with you remotely and offering you some great new content! Detailed instructions will follow very soon! We thank you all so much for your continued support and encouragement! Much love, Tascha and the OM Movement Team

11.01.2022 Beautiful OM Movement Community, The events of the past few weeks have brought us into unchartered territory, and with all the uncertainty we can feel a little ...isolated, especially if we are asked to go into lockdown. For some of us, this will mean simply going straight to work and straight back home again, but for others this can mean prolonged periods of being alone. More than ever now, this is the time for us to come together as a community and give each other a hand if and when we can. We invite you to practice karma yoga (unselfish action) with us in the weeks to come. There will be friends, neighbours and yoga community members who will be in need of help. It may be a parent who cannot leave the house but needs to urgently fill a childs prescription at the pharmacy. Or it may be someone who falls into the vulnerable category, who has run out of milk and bread. Or it may be someone who hasnt spoken to another person for a week and just needs to hear a friendly voice over the phone. Whatever it is, if you are in need of some neighbourly assistance, send us a message via Messenger with the type of help it is you need, and your preferred contact details. Please DO NOT reply to this post directly with a message containing your contact information! If you are willing to help out, this post. If anyone in your suburb is in need of help, we will connect you with them. Lets show each other we care, and lets help each other through the tough times ahead. Much love and gratitude, Tascha & the OM Movement Team

11.01.2022 LATEST COVID-19 UPDATE: The NSW Government has called on its residents to socially isolate themselves, recommending we keep a distance of 1.5m between ourselves... and others whenever possible. Therefore, as of today, March 16 2020, we will limit the number of clients in each class to 12 persons per session. This allows us to maintain the recommended 1.5m distance between mats. Studio mats are placed at the correct distance so please do not move them, simply put your own mat on top. We recommend that whenever possible, you book your classes online via the MindBody app or website so as to ensure a spot. If you cannot book in via MindBody, send a text message to 0414 807 566 with your name and the class you wish to reserve your spot in. We recommend that you bring your own mat to the studio, or, if you do not have a mat, that you bring a large towel to put down on top of the studio mat. We have removed the blocks and straps from the back of the studio to further reduce any chance of accidental cross contamination. We are still keeping up our rigorous cleaning regime of all areas of the studio to ensure a clean, healthy space for you to practice in. We have also started preparing to move at least some of our operations online at this stage--keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest updates. We will begin running trial sessions of our online live-streamed classes in the next few days; instructions will be provided to make the transition as easy and painless as possible. If we have to make the decision to close the studio for a period of time, we will contact all of our active members via email to inform them of our closure and of exactly how we will continue to offer our services to you via video link. We thank all of you for your continued trust in and support of the studio! Namaste, Tascha

11.01.2022 Being a Yoga teacher during isolation comes with its own set of unique challenges...

10.01.2022 Hoping all of our clients and their families stayed safe yesterday! So grateful for all of the brave firefighters and other emergency personnel who risk their lives every day to keep the rest of us safe!

09.01.2022 Thank you so much to coaches Brian, Will and Jeff for taking us through the principles of self defense and teaching us some awesome moves last week! There were ...some really eye-opening moments, and it was amazing to learn how to turn a position of disadvantage into a position of power and control in just a few simple moves! See more

09.01.2022 At the OM Movement, it is always our aim to maintain a welcoming, supportive, inclusive and safe environment for all of our clients. During classes, we regular...ly give hands on assists to help clients find more comfort in a pose, or to find more depth in a pose. However, we acknowledge that not everyone wishes to be adjusted during their practice, and may prefer visual and/or verbal cues instead. As our primary role as yoga instructors is to act as facilitators and to improve your experience on your yoga mat, we are introducing a simple and unobtrusive system to let us to know whether or not to give you hands on assists. So the next time youre at the studio for a class, grab one of our Y/N coasters on your way in and place it by your mat. This will let us know whether to physically assist you or not, and will hopefully make your experience at the studio even more enjoyable!

09.01.2022 Both members and non-members are welcome to this workshop! Join us this Sunday from 12-3pm and learn practical skills that can protect you from harm. The tech...niques taught can be used against an opponent who is much larger, even if you do not have any prior experience in martial arts! Dont miss outbeing able to defend yourself is a valuable skill that builds confidence. https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/asp/adm/adm_cs_e.asp

08.01.2022 Next week, boost your immune system with yoga! Tascha and Colas Flow and Yin classes next week will focus on poses that can help build our immune system. Did ...you know that stress weakens our immune system? Yoga can help ground our nervous system and begin to undo some of the negative effects chronic stress has on our bodies and minds. There are yoga poses that can stimulate specific glands that support our immune system, like the thymus gland and the lymphatic system, and poses that can relieve pressure on our sinuses and congestion in the chest. Kick start your practice with these try at home poses: 1. Legs up the Wall (grounds the nervous system and moves lymph) 2. Supported Downward Facing Dog (a great pose to relieve stress, especially when the forehead is supported with a block. Also relieves pressure in the sinuses and moves white blood cells through the body) 3. Bridge Pose (opens the thymus gland) 4. Supported Fish Pose (balances the nervous system, opens the lungs and sinuses and promotes diaphragmatic breathing)

04.01.2022 Dear OM Movement Community, You may have some concerns about the coronavirus and the implications for our OM Movement community. We have sought advice on what ...actions we can take to ensure the safety of both our clients and staff. In accordance with the guidelines from the Commonwealth Government, we believe that the best form of managing any potential risk to our community is to request that clients and staff who have recently returned from affected areas in China, or where a member of their household has recently returned from an affected area in China, do not attend any sessions at the studio for a period of 14 days from their return date. Furthermore, in addition to the steps we already take on a daily basis to ensure the usual clean, safe and healthy environment in the studio, we are now taking additional measures to make sure that, to the extent that is possible, the studio is free from risk for both our clients and staff. Anyone whose yoga passes are affected by an extended absence in relation to the above will be eligible for an extension of their passes; we request that you contact the studio if this is the case for you via email on [email protected]. More information about symptoms of the coronavirus and World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines regarding the coronavirus can be found on the WHO website, https://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus. Kindly yours, Tascha & the OM Movement Team
