25.01.2022 The Orchestra Project is coming to Sydney in December for a performance of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor and Mahler Symphony No. 4. We are truly blessed to have two incredible soloists for this concert - Harry Bennetts and Lorina Gore. Once again I will be joined by musicians from all over the country coming together to perform great works with terrific colleagues. This will be Project No. 25 since it all began in Melbourne in 2002. Really cant wait for this one!

25.01.2022 A great interview!

24.01.2022 In advance of our forthcoming gig in Sydney on Tuesday 10 December, it was great to read such a positive review of The Orchestra Projects contribution to IOperas Australian premiere of Jonny spielt auf in the latest issue of the UKs Opera Magazine!

24.01.2022 A terrific review of our last project in Rehearsal Magazine http://www.cutcommonmag.com/live-review-mahler-6-with-the-/. Big congrats to Fabian Russell and all the musicians and production team, and to our very generous sponsors and supporters.

22.01.2022 Owing to the impact of COVID-19, in particular the associated public health issues, The Orchestra Project has taken the tough, but necessary, decision to cancel our planed performance of Mahlers Resurrection Symphony on 12 April at the South Melbourne Town Hall. Already many other cultural organisations in Melbourne, and many more nationally and globally, have begun to cancel forthcoming events. Our duty in such circumstances is also clear; we need to support all such effo...rts by the wider community to slow and control the spread of the disease by following suit. We remain tremendously grateful to all the musicians who had volunteered to participate in this Project, and to all our friends and supporters behind the scene. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy and keep good care of one another. We hope we can entice you coming to a rescheduled Mahler 2 Orchestra Project soon!

19.01.2022 Were delighted to be supporting this performance--the second of three major events for The Orchestra Project this year!

19.01.2022 On Easter Sunday 12 April 2020, The Orchestra Project will be back at ANAM South Melbourne Town Hall for our annual celebration of the Australian classical music community. This year musicians from the Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Tasmanian symphony orchestras will once again play alongside pre-eminent young musicians - and our inaugural chorus - to perform Mahler Symphony No. 2 Resurrection in what will be the 29th program that we have presented since The Orchestra Project began in 2002. Two great Australian soloists - Lorina Gore and Liane Keegan will join us for this special event. We cant wait! Hope to see you there!

08.01.2022 We have some incredible soloists joining us for Decembers Orchestra Project, one being violinist Harry Bennetts. Sydney-born violinist Harry Bennetts studied at the Australian National Academy of Music under Dr. Robin Wilson, and in the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra mentored by concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley. His first years of violin lessons were in the Suzuki method and his subsequent teachers were Philippa Paige and Mark Mogilevski. Following a s...eries of success in national competitions, Harry has performed concerti as soloist with the Melbourne, Tasmanian, Willoughby, and Canberra Symphony orchestras. He has performed recitals in concert halls that include the Melbourne Recital Centre Salon, Ukaria Cultural Centre, Sydney Opera House Utzon room, as well as numerous regional centres. He has performed chamber music at festivals in Townsville, Huntington, Baden-Baden, Cologne, Berlin and Melbourne. Whilst still completing his studies, Harry was accepted into the international musicians seminar at Prussia cove in the class of Thomas Ades, and performed as an Emerging Artist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra (with whom he now tours as a guest). During his time studying in Germany he performed regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at their home in the Philharmonie and on their European tours. He has participated in masterclasses and lessons with Pinchas Zuckerman, Boris Kuschnir, Midori Goto, Christian Tetzlaff and members of the Belcea and Doric string quartets. 06.01.2022 You heard it here first...

05.01.2022 A performance by The Orchestra Project of Ein Heldenleben in December 2008 in support of ANAM during its dying days before the Federal Government was about to close the doors on the place. The orchestra led by Kristian Winther, contained musicians from every professional Australian orchestra, and at the time, past, present and future ANAM students. The day before this performance, following a vigorous and sustained campaign spearheaded by Artistic Director Brett Dean, to reverse the governments decision, ANAM received its life line from Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. And the rest is history..... https://youtu.be/w9NLuLw9E-o
