25.01.2022 Not interested in sewing? Fast forward to the bloops https://youtu.be/BQjBzUY92eQ

23.01.2022 Sending lots of love to my fellow Melbournians today. I've been quiet here because I've been finding lockdown hard lately, so know that you are not alone if you feel the same and that IT'S OKAY to not be okay right now. I personally find it easiest to cope when I keep myself busy, so I finally got around to upcycling an old linen bedsheet into new pillowcases. A lovely customer sent me these because she didn't want them to go to landfill, and I'm so happy with how they turn...ed out. There are a few other projects uploaded that might help pass the time so have a squiz, and please reach out if there's anything I can do to help lift your spirits - we're all in this together https://youtu.be/IPwKNV8ef3s

20.01.2022 Small businesses need you, lovely people! Finders Keepers are hosting an amazing online event and dare I say it, you could start thinking about Christmas pressies! (Preparation is key to shopping within your budget, as well as choosing thoughtful, handmade gifts that support the communities around you! )

20.01.2022 Ooh yeah, circular economy development! It's not perfect (nothing is!) but this is a big leap for taking environmental responsibility (Shall we ask K-mart to do the same? ) https://7news.com.au//ikea-says-it-will-buy-back-used-furn

20.01.2022 Me yesterday but also me today Lots of masks are now available online btw! Our wonderful makers in Bali have sewn masks for us this season instead of clothing. We used up some remnant fabrics (masks are such a perfect size to use up scraps!) so we have a few different fabrics available Don't forget to watch the IGTV for more info on size and fit Find them here: https://www.theothelabel.com/collections/face-masks

17.01.2022 Looky look! I'll be hosting a little sewing workshop next weekend for the Finders Keepers virtual market. Covid has impacted SO MANY small businesses so this is the perfect chance to support them https://fb.me/e/1v6CJ2gdD

15.01.2022 This mask situation is driving me INSANE! In a nutshell, my wonderful makers have sent me lots of beautiful new masks, BUT we've encountered so many challenges with inconsistency that I can't pop them online yet... I'm working through wash testing now (different fabrics result in different behaviours) so I will keep you updated. The perfectionist in me is crying, but I'm just going to take the rest of today easy, and remind myself that it's all going to be okay! @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

14.01.2022 Yes please and thank you! Don't forget my compost, rainwater tank and beehive add ons https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157993185704671&id=9767089670

14.01.2022 It's definitely been a 'comfy pants' year but our culottes have been your fave for like, 4 years?! I lived in these white linen ones last summer and have a few left online on sale! As you probably know, I sadly won't have a new collection for you this summer (ronaaaaaa) but intentionally, all Theo pieces have stood the test of time and defy those pesky trends that come and go Have a squiz for something online (use the size filters!) and you just might get your hands on the... last few Theo garments from me [ever? ] https://www.theothelabel.com//pre-order-womens-full-length

11.01.2022 No one: Show us more pillow tutorials, Esther! Hey, I have to keep myself busy (distracted...) somehowwww! This is a decorative cushion cover, and I used the same old bedsheet to match my pillowcases from earlier. If you've been meaning to dust off the sewing machine - this is a good beginner project! Ps. I have one more cushion tutorial up my sleeve https://youtu.be/J1m4d8fdXBc

11.01.2022 So this was super nostalgic! A new video to keep you occupied in iso (super kid friendly!) using leftover string and featuring a minor knot breakdown. We recovered so it's all g https://youtu.be/mbXTDDSUda0

11.01.2022 One of my favourite things to do while travelling is to stop and listen to buskers! It drives Tim crazy but I could stand there for ages watching talented artists perform for a few dollars Hopefully soon we can see the world again and meet all the amazing people in it For now, I'll spend my Sunday morning watching people like this https://youtu.be/6uecFirb4T4

10.01.2022 It has been incredibly rewarding to get back into the technical side of fashion (the part that I truly enjoy!) and take the time to sew pieces from start to finish in lock down. Fellow sewists will know what a luxury it is to create something for yourself with zero urgency! It has also been a great reminder of the skill and time it takes to create beautiful thoughtful clothing. In the words of my dear mother: 'I've been watching your videos. They aren't easy you know!' Yes,... just about anyone with a sewing machine can technically sew. But not everyone has the knowledge to sew something that is constructed to last and also looks good - 2 very important things when creating sustainable fashion. (Also yes, I am 100% blatantly tooting my own horn for having some skills, but like many others who often get praise or recognition for their vocation, I paid time and money for a piece of paper that qualifies me to do this, and bush-bashed my way through industry to get experience under my belt so that I now have the confidence to share it with you You can find my full sewing tutorial of this jumper on my YouTube channel @slewliving https://youtu.be/BQjBzUY92eQ

10.01.2022 I have a new video up showing you how to make a basic tee, so if you're feeling creative (or bored, or angry), this is a fun way to stay occupied Making your own clothes is seriously satisfying! Think of a time when you made something, anything! Maybe the last time you did was when you were a child, and boy does doing child-like stuff bring some joy into our lives I know it's tempting to laze, to wait, to feel stuck indoors or within 5kms, but here's a little push to say ...that time passes far quicker when you're having fun, so you might as well enjoy it https://youtu.be/4PykG4G9rkM

09.01.2022 It's #nationalopshopweek and WE MISS OP SHOPPING SO MUCHHHH! These are our fave finds from op shops ONLY, so not including Savers or Gumtree or any other second hand platform. (The main difference is that op shops are charitable where as the others are businesses.) A few of these are from overseas op shops, but our local faves are Salvos Stores Vinnies Australia and Sacred Heart Mission Op Shops Sustainable fashion can be beautiful, affordable and funsiesssss!

08.01.2022 Thrifted jeans and Theo on the (almost) daily! I remembered that aside from being op shopping fiends, Tim and I run a clothing store so I should probably wear my own product Beautiful tees are one of those things that are hard to find in op shops so most of mine are Theo samples. I have a random assortment left online on sale, and a little tip for my gals who like them oversized () try the men's section! ALT CAPTION: Tim hide the Doritos!!!!!!!!... www.theothelabel.com See more

07.01.2022 Iso lesson: the introvert in me really thrives on working alone! I love the mix of tasks I get to do through Theo SO MUCH MORE when I have the space and margin to delegate my energy sparingly. I do anything from cutting fabric and sewing masks through to lodging my quarterly BAS, applying for grants and invoicing stockists, and of course, designing new styles, sampling them up and marketing them to you! I feel really lucky (and proud!) to have followed my passion, strengths and curiosity, and to have the privilege and support to do so for most of my adult life! I'm just feeling thankful today, so shout out to my fam, my TK, my friends, customers and community for absolutely EVERYTHING! You are all THE BEST @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

06.01.2022 https://hillsandwest.com/backstories/ I definitely don't feel the same way about lockdown right now I filmed this interview for Hills & West a few weeks ago and it's weird, but hearing how I felt about my business and my own vision back then has given me a bit of encouragement for now! Maybe we should all film happy versions of ourselves and watch it when we're feeling down

06.01.2022 I packed these up for a brand new stockist a few weeks ago, so fingers crossed (very loosely because we are setting the bar low here in Melbs) when shops are open soon they will be ready and waiting! You can find our super comfy masks online still and at @idreamahighway in Northcote I'm looking forward to popping into boutique stores again and discover all the clever things Aussie small businesses have been busy creating! www.theothelabel.com

05.01.2022 Get up to speed with important new mask info, including how to make the earloops fit YOU, washing them before use and a try-on with new colours and fabrics
