17.01.2022 The latest newsletter from Atulya at The Mud Home is jam-packed with fantastic links again! Here are her podcast picks of the month: 1. Alternative Building Lloyd Kahn on The Building Sustainability Podcast Lloyd Kahn of the fabulous Shelter Blog is now in his eighties. But that’s not stopping him. He remembers hanging out with Buckminster Fuller and co. back in the sixties, when the world was clearly so much cooler than now:)) This is a great interview, really funny in pl...aces. Lloyd explains why he pulled his dome books off the market, why he thinks four-sided houses are better (eek!), and why you should grow parsley in your fire escape. http://www.buildingsustainabilitypodcast.com//6261913-bs32 2. Earth Knowing Pat McCabe on the Future is Beautiful Changing key completely here, for the Earth Whisperers among you, don’t miss this beautiful talk with Pat Woman Stands Shining McCabe. Pat shares her personal stories and encounters with Mother Earth, and how she transitioned from a place of deep intellect to another way of knowing. It’s profound and grounding stuff. https://www.thefutureisbeautiful.co//e111-pat-mccabe-on-e/ 3. Eco-Art and Living Sculpture Celia Gregory on the Abundant Edge Feel like a bit of eco-art with clown fish thrown in? There’s often a discussion as to what extent art can be a catalyst for change. Here’s a vibrant story of a woman who creates living coral sculptures under the sea. She understands how to work with local communities, and hangs out with Fabien Cousteau as well. An inspiring project this. https://abundantedge.com/celia-gregory/

01.01.2022 Lee asks, 'Hi, I'm doing research on renovating the exterior of our mud brick home built in the mid 1980s. I'm looking for articles on the subject of re-rendering mud brick exteriors and am hoping that someone can help with which issues of The Owner Builder (or other sources) may contain relevant articles. We didn't build the house so have limited knowledge of working with mud brick.'
