25.01.2022 THE OX BOX COACHING 2020 Every day our students entrust us with their fitness, health, and future. We never take this trust lightly and always strive to remember that being a coach is a position of responsibility and service, not of privilege and power. Being a coach is a pretty amazing experience. Day in, day out we are charged with the responsibility of changing lives. We take people who would otherwise be sitting on their couch getting fat and sick and give them the gift ...of health and fitness. Theres no doubt about it: being a coach is the greatest job in the world. However as time goes on and you teach more and more classes, correct more and more movements, its easy to fall into autopilot and forget the kind of impact your work has on members and how lucky you are to do it every day. We promise you, as Ox Box Coaches that we will strive to coach every class as if it was the most important class we have ever taught. We will strive to be patient, enthusiastic and set an example for you. Finally.... That we will stand for you being the best version of yourself even when you are not doing that for yourself. We want our students to connect to the fact that what your membership pays for is "The Coaching" and our programming Method is the way we deliver this coaching. A quote that has impacted our Coaching Philosophy year after year is the following.... 24.01.2022 Kicking off on December 16th, we bring you Yoga at The Ox Box. Yoga helps to build power through increasing range of motion, developing a strong mind body connection with meditation and restoring the nervous system using breath-work. The five-week series combines Yoga with the 5 moving principles of CrossFit - core to extremity, active shoulders, range of motion, midline stabilisation and posterior chain engagement. 17.01.2022 To our Oxen, We are excited to announce to all current and past members of The Ox Box Collingwood Community that we are expanding and making our way to the other side of the river to Port Melbourne. The Ox Box is taking CrossFit Bamboo into the next stage of its journey as an established and well-regarded training space under the guidance of Bjorn for many years now.... Since the end of 2017, it has been no secret that we had been looking to open another facility. Many opportunities have come and gone, each with their pros and cons, but we really feel confident that this is the one we can bite the bullet on. CrossFit Bamboo is a little gym with a big heart, with a community full of fantastic, easy-going, genuine people who can really appreciate having fun with their health and fitness. The prospect of uniting the two communities is hopefully as exciting for you all as it is for us. Since first taking charge of the dilapidated former fan factory that was 75 Cromwell Street, we have poured our heart and soul into creating the kind of space that we would want to train in, and that we thought the community needed and deserved. We have seen it become a place that has laid the foundation for health, fitness, relationships, business partnerships, and, as of late, many, many babies. Ironically, amongst the guessing game of who is next to have a child, the answer is The Ox Box has a second baby on the way. Being a force of change in the fitness industry has been something that The Ox Box will continue to work towards building, and we see this as the next evolution towards making The Ox Box Collingwood and The Ox Box Port Melbourne, the two premier fitness facilities in Melbourne. The Ox Box Method is constantly being refined, to make sure that we are delivering the best possible product to our members. 2020 has seen the largest overhaul to The Ox Box Method since its inception back in 2012! The Ox Box Method for 2020 is looking to set a benchmark in the functional fitness / CrossFit space in what a world class program can deliver to its students.. Instead of delivering a bunch of half cooked offering for our students, The Ox Box chooses to do ONE thing, very, very well. WHAT TO EXPECT The Ox Box Method is a Stand Out training program for all regardless of if you are someone who is looking to get off the couch, improve your marathon time or compete in the wsport of fitness. Our Method is continually refined to what illicit the best results for our students. To supports you through your individual journey, guiding you away from injury and disfunction and all the while making it fun along the way. DETAILED REFINEMENT. 05.01.2022 THE OX BOX COMMUNITY 2020 With the new year upon us, many new people are beginning upon their New Years Resolutions to be the best versions of themselves. As a member of The Ox Box you have joined a community of people that is powerful and has given a lot to the people within it. It has created relationships both professional and personal, it has inspired people to become healthy and fitter than what they may have even believed possible. It has seen people accomplish feats o...f strength and skill that astounded all. We can all grow stronger together... If you see someone struggling with equipment help them out. For some this is the first time they are learning the difference between a Dumbbell and a Barbell. If you see someone looking uncomfortable, smile at them or introduce yourself. A smile can change fear into friendship. If you have finished your workout, cheer people on, then help everyone pack up. Many hands make light work. Respect peoples journeys. Everyone is on their own path and that path may not look like yours. We build people up! Finally, respect the space that has given so many, so much. Share equipment when necessary, clean up after yourself, make sure you come to train clean and finally give your attention to those who deserve it most, your coaches. Our community has been created by the awesome people in its past and present. The community continue to grow because of the people who are still to join. The past shapes the future and they way you conduct yourself impacts this directly. We are proud to have such an amazing group of people who inspire people within and outside of our walls. 03.01.2022 Things are looking positive that we will be reopening our studios on the 22nd of June 2020. From this date we will back indoors, however, there will still be restrictions. The silver lining is that we get to see all of our members faces in person rather than a computer screen. We have great things planned for when we get our hands on all of the training tools the box has to offer....
