09.01.2022 Yesterday's Western Australian article. Fantastic that this information is becoming more widely known! Use of pouches can: - Limit oral motor development - Limit opportunities for messy play (this is one way that children learn to accept new foods/wet textures!)... - Limit the variety of foods accepted by the child (many pouches taste quite similar, so fresh foods can seem very different for children who are not used to this!) - Negatively affect the development of the child's natural cues of hunger/fullness. If your child is having difficulties transitioning away from pouches to fresh foods, please feel free to give us a call on 1300 103 194 and we would be happy to support you on your child's feeding journey together www.paediatricfeedingclinic.com.au

04.01.2022 Repost from one of our gorgeous clients who completed our tube weaning program followed by an intensive feeding therapy regime to increase the variety of foods and textures that she could eat. Well done, Harlow! "Harlow's in the middle of a 6 day, 4 hour per day feeding program to try get her off purée foods, increase to soft diet, increase chewing ability, mouth movements and increase swallowing ability and increase speed of eating. So far she’s showing many improvements. V...ery proud of her. She’s been preparing the meals with help, peeling, chopping, mixing, stirring etc and is enjoying it. Lucky for the NDIS who approved the funding for this program and for Amber and Reece for their skills and expertise. Hopefully one day Harlow will eat like everyone else does and sustain her dietary requirements for growth on her own and her PEG feeding tube can come out. Despite this, I’m super proud to be her mum and I have one of the kindest happiest kids there is." www.paediatricfeedingclinic.com.au #tubeweaning #feedingtube #feedingtherapy #thepaediatricfeedingclinic #glasswingtherapy
