23.01.2022 The Paintbox Presents Nicole Black - "Introduction To Watercolour" Thursday 28th Jan 2021... 6:15-8:45pm @ The Paintbox Hahndorf. Dive into the world of watercolour with this 2.5 hour introductory workshop. Gain insight into this beautiful medium and get started on your own watercolour journey! The class begins by developing a ‘cheat sheet’ exploring techniques and basic approaches for you to use as a reference for future painting. The second half of the class explores the application of these techniques to capturing a still-life object. What is included in the ticket: All materials as well as A list of recommended materials so you can create your own set up. Light nibbles to keep you sustained through out the evening (please let me know about any dietary requirements) An inspiring and creative environment in the heart of Hahndorf Please bring: An art journal/notebook if you’re inclined to take notes. Any materials you are currently using and would like some advice on. Wear clothes that you are comfortable in and don’t mind getting paint on. This class is suitable for beginners and is limited to 12 spots to ensure enough time with teacher as possible whilst providing a great learning setting. Therefore bookings are essential! 15.01.2022 We have a fabulous Exhibition Opening "Golden Treasures" next Saturday for local artist Katie Sandison to be partnered with two Workshop she is offering in January 2021. Katie takes delight in painting native flora and fauna and researching to showcase the species we have lost and those we may soon if there is not more done to save them. Her Janurary Workshop is at a bargain price including the materials at $120 + booking fee!... The Workshop is Fundamentals Of Art in Drawing and Painting is suited to those with less experience or wanting to start out. 12.01.2022 The Paintbox Presents Nicole Black "Botanical Illustration Workshop" Saturday 16th of January... 2-5:30pm @ The Paintbox Hahndorf This class focuses on achieving watercolour renderings of floral paintings (Australian natives) from drawing to watercolour applications. The first part of the class focuses on the breaking-down of a botanical illustration. Working from a reference image participants will learn: How to begin a sketch flowers (basic drawing techniques) Discussion about how to construct a botanical illustration. Basic watercolour techniques. In the second half of the class we will use our new found skills and apply them to creating a Botanical illustration working from still life arrangements. What participants should expect: To walk away from this class with resources to continue their exploration of watercolour painting. Techniques and materials list.
