05.01.2022 We have some exciting news! Following extensive engagement with Yeronga and broader Brisbane based residents with special input from members of the arts community, some of whom have already established studios in the complex, we have taken a different direction with the site located at 115 Hyde Road, Yeronga. We originally proposed a residential only option for the site. Now we propose an exciting mixed-use environment where people will be able to work, visit, live and relax... within a world-leading arts village, while retaining some of the industrial character. The Paint Factory Arts Village will be the first of its kind for Australia and will provide an integrated space for a range of artistic creators and makers utilising the industrial setting and character with architecturally designed residences and communal spaces. We plan to create a permanent address that features artists, art galleries, event space, artisans, micro brewer, coffee roaster, pop-up fresh produce and an artisan market, community, educational facilities, visual artists and other creative professionals, living and working on the site alongside stunning homes, artists-in-residences and large areas of landscaped open space. The plans follow extensive community engagement and input from members of the arts community who already have established studios in the complex. Richard Bell, Judy Watson, Vernon Ah Kee, Ryan Presley, Gordon Hookey, Dale Harding, Sandra Selig, Ross Manning, Tintin Wulia, Eugene Carchesio and Natalya Hughes are among leading Australian artists who are already calling The Paint Factory home and have been at the forefront of the new direction of the Arts Village. Many who have been featured on here before see previous posts to keep an eye on their works. Further inspiration has been gleaned from national and international leading developments and collectives such that have re-imagined and energised redundant land uses, including Germanys Alte-Spinnerei, the Abbotsford Convent in Victoria, Wynwood Walls (Miami, USA) and The Powerhouse in Brisbane. To read more visit www.paintfactoryyeronga.com.au. To view the plans or to speak with our team please call Sarah on 1800 962 011, who would love to meet and discuss our plans one-on-one or provide a site tour to walk through the plans.
