21.01.2022 AND BREATHE...... Year 12 exams began yesterday with the 3 hour English exam. It's been a big year for these students and we know that they will be doing their very best over the next few weeks. Best wishes to everyone who is in the midst of an exam period - it can be a stressful time even if you are well prepared.... What are your tips for remaining calm at times like this? Do you have a fave playlist to listen to? Maybe you go for a walk or a run? How do you manage your stress?

17.01.2022 21 DAYS Our Potens Beatitudinis team are working their way through their daily challenges and the feedback has been positiive! We'd love for you to join us for the final two guest speaker sessions..... even if you're not part of the full challenge.... 15.01.2022 LEADERSHIP We have watched on with pride (and a little bit of a lump in our throats) as the 2020 Captains at Mac.Robertson Girls' High School have gone about their duties this year - sidestepping, pivoting and twirling - to keep up with the changes and challenges that were put in front of them. From school to SRC to sport and more - they have all done an amazing job. Well done to all of them - for guiding, for supporting, for cheering and for doing their jobs in the best way ...that they could, despite not physically being on campus for a lot of the year. What do you remember about the leaders in your year level? Were you a captain? Did you have a student in your cohort who stepped up to her captaincy far and above what you expected? Tell us your stories!

14.01.2022 COMMUNITY COOKBOOK We're really excited to be part of a school published community cook book - and we'd love your help! At the start of 2020, Lena Berias (Executive Assistant Principal Team) came up with the idea of creating a staff cook book to support the student Bushfire Fundraising Appeal. 2020 has turned us all upside down and the cook book is taking a different turn.... " ...the challenges thrust upon us this year has led to me giving some serious thought to the origi...nal format and the purpose of the cookbook, and why it should be more than just a ‘staff cookbook’. As an overview it has been inspiring to see staff, students and the wider community work together, demonstrating positivity and resilience when adapting to change and offering care and support to those who need it most - The Mac.Rob community spirit has never been stronger! The year of 2020 has taught us to appreciate the simple things; it has also reminded us to slow down, to take a breath and to take care, to re connect with people in ways we never thought we could, and it has also given us the time to cook again and share some wonderful recipes." If you would like to have your recipe included then please: Submit your recipe and recipe photo to [email protected] Subject: Community Cookbook - include your name Closing date: Sunday 4th October midnight Your email should include; Your full name The year you exited Mac.Rob Contact details mobile Recipe to be in a word doc format, to include the title (be creative!), ingredients and instructions A photo of your completed recipe - To be an original file and of a higher resolution a minimum 2MB to allow for enlarging and editing We'd love to see some Palladians recipes included!

09.01.2022 YEAR 12 LAST DAY It's that time of the year - when a cohort of students say farewell to Mac.Robertson Girls' High School as they begin their study vac and then their final exams. This year has certainly been different in so many ways for the year 12 students BUT we know that they were very grateful to have been back on site this term to reconnect again before the end of the year. It also meant that they were able to celebrate a "last day" in a (vaguely) normal way on the 22n...d October. What can you remember from your last day / week of year 12? Did you have a dress up theme? Did you decorate the school? What did you do in your last week at school? This image is from 1989 - a giant mermaid in the windows of the Teachers' staircase (yes, that's right - only the teachers could use those stairs). Whilst the theme may be long forgotten (unless someone can remind me!), the memories of fantastic friendships, thank yous to awesome teachers and a feeling of excitement as we prepared for our exams still remains.

06.01.2022 WE NEED YOU! Actually - we need your photos. We're in the midst of updating our webpage (if you haven't seen it lately, jump over and have a look www.palladians.com) and as part of that we have some ideas for an image on the front page.... We'd love some photos of you. Of our members. Showcasing the breadth of the people who have been students at Mac.Robertson Girls' High School and who they are now. Yes - we're asking you to step outside your comfort zone, to take a selfie (or ask someone to take a pic) and send it through to us. We'll put a range of photos together in a collage and use this on our webpage. So get snapping - and see what you can come up with. Be creative! Please send your photo through to [email protected] If we use your image (we'll let you know) we have a small gift as a token of our appreciation. Note - for this to work in the way that we are thinking we need close up photos. This isn't the time for panoramic landscapes - we need up close and personal.
