20.01.2022 Whilst many businesses in regional Victoria resume trading today, The Park is still not permitted to re-open. Indoor Physical Recreation, Indoor Community Sport, Indoor Gymnasiums, Indoor Pools and Indoor Trampolining have all been given the green light to resume under State Govt guidelines. However Indoor Skateparks must remain closed. Can the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services or Dan Andrews please explain why this is the case? Do they in fact realise that The... Park is the ONLY indoor skatepark in all of regional Victoria? We understand that there are many other individuals and businesses that continue to be affected and we acknowledge the dire impact restrictions have had on them also. Our concern is with the decision to allow all other forms of indoor sport and recreation to re-open, but exclude one single business. The risk of transmission in a venue of 2500m2, with stringent COVID Safe practices, natural ventilation, where riders do not share equipment in a non-contact recreational activity, we believe, is minimal. In a time when physical and mental health is so important, we cannot understand the rationale of the State Government of Victoria To our riding community, please share or comment on this post and hopefully we will see you all again soon
