15.01.2022 SCAM WATCH: The Australian Tax Office has alerted us to reports of email scams about JobKeeper and backing business investment claims. The fake emails say the ATO is investigating your claims. They ask you to provide valuable personal information, including copies of your driver’s licence and Medicare card. The image here is one example of an email scam currently circulating. Don’t provide the information requested, and delete the email straight away.... If you receive a message from the ATO asking for your personal information, phone 1800 008 540 to make sure it's legitimate. If you think it's fraudulent, report it by sending an email to [email protected]. You should never give out your personal information unless you're sure of who you are dealing with.
